What's your favorite light gun game? Links and specs to everything in video description! Let me know what you think of this plug and play light gun box!
My favorite lightgun game has got to be vampire knight. Unlike a lot of light gun games being ports this was made for ps2. It had tons of game modes and unlocks.
If you go into the retroarch quick menu and bring up options, go under video, press up once and turn on Native depth interpolation it will fix the glitching in hotd 2. It even happens on more powerful pcs.
My man coming through again at the perfect time! Wife just asked me what I want for Christmas and my answer was "an easy plug n play Light gun option." This is it! Thanks Pdubs!
I bought the retro shooter pandora box for 400 use. Isn't worth it at all. One of guns couldn't calibrate correctly enough for me to feel it was a defective product. The rom selection on pandora was underwhelming, and the light gun bars on top of the TV look terrible and can't fit snug do to the power cord. Completely worthless if the one gun that does work can be used via adapter for pc can work with light guns games that run slow on my asus rog. Another purchase that is so so. It's a pc with shortcut keys. Terrible battery life and isn't strong enough for an outside etsy light gun only hard drive purchase, that getting to rom myself, ran faster
I told my nephew long ago, he bought one from Lizard. I went for a SER5 (5800X) and added all the missing PS3, GC, Wii and PS2 games to the RetroLizard image. All the On-Rails games that is. Left out the one's were you can move (unpractical, tho technically possible with Sinden). Pretty much everything that Batocera can run. On the windows side I added all the modern light gun games that don't run on Batocera or games that run imperfectly like HOTD Remake, and also added TeknoParrot. Things to keep in mind: 1.If you update Batocera your D-pad will not work to browse menus, but updating is gonna fix many issues with Batocera and Sinden if you add games.. If you don't plan on adding anything keep it as is. 2.Dead Space: Extraction. For some reason the weapon tilt function of the game doesn't register (emulated Gyro), controls are done correctly on the emulator, but never could figure it out, I tried everything to troubleshoot. No dice. 3. You can add a lot of games, gladly Retrolizard left some room (I assume), enough to add mostly everything you want, but be careful, Batocera needs a little bit of space.. I learn that the hard way., had to redo everything, not once but twice. 4.In order to be able to play HOTD Scarlet Dawn(Teknoparrot), you need an ini config file that changes the settings (this games has none, took a while to find it, if you want it let me know) the ini file has 3 graphic settings that you can choose, using this PC it's the lowest one, but the game still looks great. On my SER5 I only had to lower it to medium and a few settings on high. Everything else works perfectly on this image.. Retrolizard did a great job. I have all the light gun images available online and this is the one that works 99.9%. I have it setup on my ALU.
This is an amazing setup, I would love to see "Carnival King - Big Top Shooter" I have the real arcade machine but would a more modern solution so I can get some room back in my house 😁
I don't know if you've ever heard of it. There is this game called Music Gun Gun 2, that I'm pretty sure you'd love it if you play it. Anyway, i was wondering if you knew if this thing has it on there or not. Either way, I'd totally consider buying this thing one day! And if it does have it I am going to play this thing 24/7!
The one eyed shooter build is hands down the best build on the market. This seems good but not optimised. Plus 100+ games versus near on 1000 with extra features it’s a no brainier.
PDubs, These setups are getting closer to what I'm looking for all the time :) This company has made something pretty decent here. Not sure if it'll be right for me, I kind of want a better House of the Dead 2 experience, and I couldn't play through any game that has that amount of audio choppiness, but still impressive for the price. Some quick questions if you have the time :) - Are the Point Blank arcade games on this collection (not a huge fan of PS1 ports) - If you've played it, does Carnevil play well with no audio choppiness. I've seen it emulated only once and it had audio issues. In any case, thanks for sharing this cool device! vgv
Fantastic. I set up my own system like this on a mini PC but was unable to get two light guns working. Was Joel able to get this working for two or just one light gun? GREAT VID. 👍😎👍
Ebay might have some from time to time. I got mine on ebay Sept 2021 but haven’t used them yet. I might make a Carnevil cab similar to the one on youtube that Killer Arcade Games made. He chopped off the top of a Final Fight and put a 32” Insignia TV from Best Buy on it and used a pc inside. I have SFII side panels with the tops chopped off from ebay and the guy cut them for me. I just recently peeled off the SFII graphics but it left white paper behind. I could use a big nail file and sand some of it down then apply the new graphics. I have a loaded pc from Retro Lizard to use. I just got Retro Shooter guns as an alternative but they have no pump slider. And they require two sensors mounted to the TV. Sindens don’t require any but they need a white border on the screen in order to work.
Pdubs, great review and thank you for bringing us great content. If you were to compare this plug and play vs retro shooter pandora box which one would you give the edge to? Thanks.
Probably the retro shooter as it's cheaper and mostly same games. This is more for if you have sinden guns already collecting dust and want something to do with them
Another option. To bad they don't load it with new and old arcade shooters. Like terminator salvation & new elevator action . Looks to be onnthe same level with the retro shooter but you get all you need at once with that.
Wow! I just ordered the Retro Shooter and wonder if this would have been better? Does this have any Good games that Retro Shooter does not that you noticed?
You still need to buy the sindens and if you want you need the pedal or pedals so it will probably be double the cost in the end. It will definitely be a better experience but if you don’t wanna spend over $400. This might not be what you want.
Please help! I recently built a very similar machine I got my sinden yesterday and got it running. Should be that easy. But after calibrating the tracking is completely reversed. I’ve scoured the web for any help but can’t find any related issues. Flipping the gun over fixes the issue but I can’t play like that. Flipping the display also fixes the issue but that doesn’t really help either. Please help. I’m pulling my hair out and my setup is so close to perfect.
I did end up contacting them shortly before I figured it all out. They haven’t ever head of the problem either. I rolled back the firmware to 1.3 and that fixed it. When I went back up to 1.8 the problem stayed gone. Just some weird glitch in the firmware.
I’m wondering if I buy the HDMI version and just buy an external HDMI to VGA or HDMI to RCA cable into a switch box will I still be able to play on my 29 inch CRT X Arcade monitor?
Just got my Sinden. Using batocera 38. But also had same issue on 37. Only nes games working. The gun does t even register on any other system. Any ideas? Working perfectly in batocera menus and NES but dead on everything else. By dead I mean even the start buttons not working.
would i be able to buy this pc, copy the file for the emulator and games and run them on my pc instead? id be able to use this mini pc for a web browser in my room
