Lived there at Central Park Tower Farnam St besides the library, I was Asian and no car so just walking/riding the bus all my life even at winter and at pass 5pm no ones in the downtown basically just like the scenes in Walking Dead. I’m from Omaha. Lived in every part of the city however I was raised near 29th and Pinkney where my father lives to this day. We are both retired Omaha cops. Moved to Lincoln when I retired. I’m 62 years old and some of my fondest memories were 24th street or the deuce. Stone soul picnics at Carter Lake. As time went on it changed but when I look back it was solid. I lived in south Omaha as well. Stratford Square and it was a true melting pot. I’m still an athlete and was back in the day at Central High. Omaha has a rich history of athletes coming out of all parts of the city but especially north and south Omaha .
