I'm a travel nurse that just moved here. I'm excited to explore! I lived in Charleston, SC for 5 months and that city set the bar high, but so far so good Omaha!
I just talked with a bank lady from Omaha, Nebraska, and now I want to check it out. You are right, we don't hear much about Nebraska, or we only fly over it. ha-ha Let's go on an adventure, and thank you. I want to add that you have a nice family, (good teamwork on the video) and you did a very good job introducing us to Omaha, I am impressed!
I stopped through there twice, going to Denver and coming back and although I was there only for a few hours both times I liked it, I plan to go back once I go see Mt. Rushmore
Lived in Omaha for 3 years (left in 2022), downtown. LOVED it. So much to do. Restaurants, pubs, and breweries galore. Joslyn and Durham museums are both great. Live music every weekend in the Capital District or Old Market. Concerts at Chi Health arena. Nature walking opportunities at Fontanelle Forest, Chalco Park, and Standing Bear Lake (granted, all are a drive outside of Omaha proper). College athletics at University of Nebraska - Omaha and Creighton University. Very cool art scene at Hot Shops in the Capital District.
I grew up in Omaha and this is very well done including a wide variety of things to do. Have you tried La Casa Pizza or Sgt. Peffer’s? My 2 favorite places to eat in Omaha.
Mama’s pizza is best. La casa is always talked highly of but the one time I ate there I was not impressed at all. Pizza was over cooked and just not good
@@drumline17 Starting to think you don't either. Cause I know more than enough about real estate and property expenses. And Nebraska, like anywhere, is great if you're rich and sucks if you're poor. And if things were so cheap, as you say, then more people would be able to afford houses. But they can't. They're stuck renting. So it's not that cheap and it ain't that great. In fact it's a high crime place with a lot of bs.
What did I miss??? Let me know here!
I haven’t been there to live since 1982, only to visit. The people are the kindest, hardworking most honest people ever. The rest you did great!
Joslyn is spelled with an S, not a Z. Love the video, very well done!

I LOVE your video on Omaha, I grew up there. It's always been at the top of my list since I was a kid
The Gene Leahy Mall is pretty cool now that everything was redone. Children love the playground.
Very nice video! I moved away 20 years ago and miss it! It has grown so much since then!😢
Great video! Whenever family and friends come visit, we always do the zoo…even though my daughter and I go weekly.

The College World Series is what you were describing. ☺ Also, love the restaurant video idea. It sounds like Omaha has really blossomed in that area.
Well done video, a few mispronunciations which surprised me for someone from Omaha. Thanks for promoting the city

If you like that ...old market is overpriced and there's not that much goes on to be honest..for a medium size city it's poor
Next: top 15 things to do in Omaha in the winter that don't involve a bar and aren't in this video already. eh??
I have a list... 😉
It's a dead city in winter..and next to nothing to do apart from hitting bars.
@@linoma57It is growing pretty rapidly metro wise though
It’s not Johnson it’s Joslyn…like the art museum (check your chapters names for what I’m talking about) from a fellow Omahan
@KatieCo, He actually said Joslyn, he just had Johnson in the timestamp.
loved living in the old market i loved it
I grew up in Omaha and this is very well done including a wide variety of things to do. Have you tried La Casa Pizza or Sgt. Peffer’s? My 2 favorite places to eat in Omaha.
La Casa is great, but for me, it's all about Orsi's pizza 😋
Mama’s pizza is best. La casa is always talked highly of but the one time I ate there I was not impressed at all. Pizza was over cooked and just not good

People from Omaha
Omaha is great, if you're rich.
My guy it's one of the cheapest cost of living places in America lol
@@drumline17 And there's a reason for that. Cause nobody poor wants to live there.
@MontChevalier that makes absolutely no sense. Starting to think you don't know what you're talking about lol

Do you have a ton of homeless there like the west coast?
No. There are a few junkies and bums around of course, but they haven't taken over like Seattle, etc.
#1 Leave Omaha
Sad.
Fly over state people for a reason
Rip the zoo polar bear
I miss omaha
The best thing to do in omaha is turn around and leave
Why do you say it? Is there something wrong in there?
Please stop promoting Omaha!!!! The Californians will get wind of it and come and destroy it like they did to Boise! PLEASE STOP!!!! I love Omaha.
California is majority minorities and the change of demographic values they have brought with them. So what you are saying is...
You've never traveled if you like this place.
1:14 2 full days? Pffft. amateur.
Good marketing video!! But Omaha is crap!
Insert CCP balloon joke
Omaha is overrated.
Omaha has the country's worst drivers.
Omaha is expensive.
I would love to live in a small town in Nebraska. But as an Omaha native, I confirm this city sucks.
The worse place for entertainment in the U.S.
Loose the music and the video would be much better. Seriously.
Nobody with an ounce of common sense would think this is a good place to live
Why is that?
@hikerhobby1204 it's boring and the city needs to move with the times.Doesnt help it's run by a bunch of old foggies and old money to boot.
@@linoma57 Gottcha. Thank you!
Lame
I said no whoever you are don’t fuck the algonquin
I’ve been to Omaha one and it was horrible.
What happened? I’m booked to go there this December for Xmas🥹
@@queenshay8457My son and family live in Omaha. I’ve been there many times and love it. In fact I’m moving to Omaha next Spring.
I agree it's a place where you have to hibernate in winter...nobody mentions that.Only good place is the zoo
@@linoma57 It's hilarious how many comments you have on this video about it being awful. Lighten up sheesh.
@Andrew-gw2lv Maybe you don't have free speech here like they do in the U K...and l thought you did to...my bad
