I have literally made this drive about 250 times. I start in Simi Valley and go the back way through Palmdale to Little Rock to Victorville, then pick up the 15 from Victorville into Vegas! The USA also has a wide range of beautiful landscapes, vibrant cities, and diverse cultures that many people find appealing. It's important to recognize and appreciate the beauty in every corner of the world.

Thank you for posting this. It's a trip I got to take many a time when I was a kid in the 70s, at least as far as the US 395 turnoff (we loved the Bishop area for vacations). Several times we did go to Vegas as part of rockhounding expeditions (if you didn't gamble, staying in Vegas and eating at the buffets was cheap back then).
It was interesting seeing the changes; I haven't been back to either LA or Vegas in 20 years (!)
We love the Bishop area too, so much beauty up there! Glad we can help relive those memories!

The view is AMAZING just from watching this video! I've never been to the West Coast, the furthest I've been out that way was around El Paso, Texas. This video makes me want to go to the West side. It's beautiful! I'm pretty sure I can get a lot of landscape painting ideas from taking this route.

I love how the audio is quiet, and comforting, with minimal road/wind noise. I had to do this drive many times all the way to Utah in my 1988 BMW, and it was not a quiet ride lol. Thankfully now I have a newer car, but man, something about a loud drive makes it more immersive. Love these videos!

My family has been going to laughlin and vegas for as long as I can remember. Still make the drive to Vegas at least once a year. This year had amazing conditions. I remember years where the santa ana river canyon was lush and green like this. I remember when the 15 first opened between the 60 and 91.
The amount of green in the desert this spring was incredible!

Probably drove from Santa Monica / West L.A. to Las Vegas and back about 100 times and more will follow. I never took the airplane as the drive is quite nice if you avoid the weekends. I soon will have a house in Las Vegas as well, so the drives between both cities will be even more frequently.
With no traffic it’s a really pleasant drive

Tip for tourists doing this drive… Hop off the freeway at Terribles. That puts you onto Las Vegas Boulevard. Same road that becomes ‘The Strip’. And a nice break from the freeway.

Interesting, the scenery where I was born looks 90% like this 3:24:00, except for the weather. In winter temperature drops to something in between -18 °C and -33 °C. And in summer the temperature can reach 40 °C and above (the record is 50). The region is called Astrakhan oblast, Russia
