Just came back from Tasmania and Melbourne, you gotta try the oysters, tasmanian scallop Pies, possum, and wallaby (couldnt find much wallaby in Melbourne but plenty in Tassie)! As well as the native herbs/spices like lemon myrtle, Tasmanian pepperberry, Tasmanian pepperleaf, finger lime, kakadu plum, wattleseed, dessert lime, strawberry gum leaf and more!.
Lol the moment you put that amount of Vegemite I immediately went that's way too much... I think half a teaspoon is more than enough for a slice of bread, and the bread should be buttered first before spreading the Vegemite.
Supermarkets in Australia often also sell Kangaroo as pet food. I've only tried it a few times and found it too lean to be flavourful and a little bit too sweet for my meat preference.
Meat pies are a bit old fashioned and the trendy city dwellers have moved on to newer things. If you ever take a drive out to the countryside, nearly every country town has a bakery with a decent to good and often great range of pies and pastries - the Vanilla Slice is possibly the most traditional of the sweet variety.
You should put about the amount of vegemite you had on that sandwhich in butter, and then about 1/4th the amount of vegemite if not less, and you would've hit the correct ratio :) Enjoyed the video about the place I've lived for almost 8 years now, will have to try out some of the places you mentioned!
Just a heads up Alderic, your microphone quality is kinda cooked. I didn't notice it on my phone speakers. But on my studio monitors, the bass is way too high and it sounds really muffled.
1:04 😹 typical chinese response . When we visited Kings Park Perth and saw the numerous fat ducks , our first thought was roasted fat ducks 🤤😋 We had the meat pies from the same place you visited . The top is puff pastry and the base is short crust pastry .
I seriously have to wonder what the hell even is a vegemite? I first noticed it recently with Jet Lag the game since they are doing an AU series there, now you are also in AU.... And did you sacrifice a plushie for that last shot lol. so cute.
vegemite is the leftover yeast residue from fermenting beer. they take that and season it, as far as I know. it was my nephew's hahaha I "borrowed" it.
Yeah unfortunately Australia didn't have that many iconic foods because it was a still penal colony a few hundred years ago, and most of the cuisine comes from its multiculturalism. I will say, our meat is quite good, especially steaks, and if you come to Sydney, the seafood is top notch too! Also that was wayyyyy too much Vegemite, it should look light golden brown
Vegemite is a bit complicated. It has a superstrong salty and umami flavour. I understand there are genetic predispositions towards preferring sweet or salty and I'm definitely a salty preferring person. I would slap it on at about double the thickness you did and enjoy it. Many Australians would spread it super thin, like a 5th or less of what you had. I suspect they are the sweet preferring people who just try to get on board the Aussie cultural aspect.
Too much Vegemite … just the lightest smear but the bread must be buttery and you can have the bread toasted or not… if you cut the slice of buttery Vegemite toast into fingers (also called soldiers) you eat them by dipping into soft boil egg at breakfast time❤️❤️❤️
LOL. Bruh... why buy Kangaroo when there's plenty in the wild? 😅 As for pies, you were just going to average shops serving food to fill the hunger. Best pies are found in Pinjarra Bakery, Miami Bakehouse, and, Bindoon Bakehaus. For beaches, Cottlesloe for the most beautiful bodies.
You don’t understand about the food in Australia in one go !! It’s an experience, I lived in Asia for 33 years and all I can tell is food in Asia is fucking adulterated. Mate you need to eat food regularly in Australia to first detox your existing taste buds and then start experiencing the real taste of the fresh food !! It has taken 6 months for me to understand what actually the food is taste is not adding 100 of sauces to the food. Every fresh fruit has a character is an experience!!

Oh my goodness, that's way too much vegemite! Just spread a very thin layer of it over butter and toast, then it becomes heavenly...
You’re funny asf 😂 definitely got the Aussie humour
Mate, when you eat vegemite, put a bit on toast not alot, add cheese, avocado and tomato, it taste beautiful.
The local fresh produce is just bliss in Australia.. Something that's impossible over here 😢

Please review Melbourne next! I’m planning to migrate there
Born and raised in Sydney here 🙋You won't regret it! Melbourne is far nicer in terms of food culture, places to see and the people

Almost every taste of food you know through entertainment❤❤❤

Perth's most specific cuisine is conti roll! Missed on that one mate ripp
wow I'm shocked I missed on this. I asked many of my friends and on my platforms but no one mentioned it.

thanks for letting me know. I'm still learning how to equalize properly. it seems like only people with proper bass equipment will hear it.
You can try Vegemite with plain porridge. When I was a child I love eating Marmite, similar to Vegemite but imported from UK, with plain porridge.
Farlie Bakehouse on the way from Christchurch to Lake Tekapo South Island, NZ has probably one of the best meat pies known to mankind.
that FF9 pointers sound is so iconic, it makes me alt tab the browser 😅
BRO IS IN PERTH WTFFFF

I hope they've paid for it! Real estate prices in Perth have gone crazy!
I lol-ed at "how does it taste?"

Wild bakery is great but a little dear. Near my office and I go there sometime. Other than Vegemite, the real Oz food is a barbie

You need butter and then vegemite.. then give it another go
Maybe kangaroo does not taste like other meat because it’s not lol
Australian beef leh?
I cooked up a steak while I was there, tasted pretty much what you would expect of aus beef.
Australia doesn't have their own cuisine... Meat pies are from the motherland (England)
For pies, you gotta go to New Zealand. Aussie pies just aren't as good
true af. i still cant forget the pies i had in NZ
Envy! To be able to live in another country for a month.

CICERELLO IN MANDURAH IS FAR BETTER
There’s no real Australian food, maybe a sausage sizzle or a chicken schnitzel can qualify.
