Just went to kings park yesterday.. also 45° is not a constantly in summer just couple of times each season.. Loved all the detailed information about Perth..
Thanks for this video - I’m moving in a couple months to help with family over there and I’m a bit nervous about the heat 😂 as an Aucklander anything above 20degrees I’m already a bit hot
Hehehe Welcome to Perth 😍 I am sure you will like it. Oh yes, it does get severely hot (way above 20 degreees haha 🤓) so aircon and drinks on those days 😁
One thing to note though on shopping hours. Perth has more 24 hour supermarkets than both Melbourne and Sydney, though yeah, dining can be tricky if dining late Also the isolation thing not really a thing I think; it's a long way to drive east for sure, but there are a lot of direct flights to cities in Asia, Middle East and Europe. Just for Singapore there about 7 flights a day. There are also new Qantas routes due to kick in over the next few years also.
I live 25km from perth city in Hillarys and it only takes me 35min from home to city. Drive to station and 15mins on the train. I don't understand why it would take you an hour on public transport 8km away. You can walk it in an hour. In another video made by a European Perth has best public Transport for its population size. The Train will expand to Whitman park and Ellenbrook Middle swan area. You can get to most places on the train. Being less populated than other big city perths peak hour traffic isn't too bad. If i have to drive it takes extra 10-12mins.
Guess that's the difference between buses and trains. I walk 10 min to the bus stop, bus takes 35-40 min to Perth CBD then another 15 min walk to the office in the city so yes it does take an hour door to door. But I get that trains expanding a good and will be convenient for many.
45C is a HUGE EXAGGERATION. Sometimes , rarely, but not common. It does get hot though. Some days. The sea breeze comes in earlier than 6pm. 4pm? Sometimes earlier.
There are definitely jobs in the HR field. However, it will significantly depend on your past working experience. In addition, there are recruitment agencies that can help you find suitable roles plus online websites like seek, indeed and LinkedIn should all be helpful.
The current government has invested a lot in Perth’s transportation and it has improved dramatically in the last 15 years. The city centre is always complex with transportation due to congestion and it is slow moving.
I totally agree with you that CBD is always a complex area for public transport. And glad to know that it was improved significantly in last 15 years 😁
Those living in the north of the state, especially Newman area, will tell you how humid the Perth heat is. LIved in Canberra for 2 years and visiting Melbourne in winter felt colder for me (even though it wasn't) because the wind coming off the Southern Ocean felt damp.
I would recommend a trip to the southwest, especially Margaret River/Augusta region. Anywhere west of Albany Highway would be suitable for a weekend trip. It would be worthwhile venturing east to Esperance and Bremer Bay where the beach sand squeak beneath your feet, but that would require 3 days.
Pros - Great people - they are noticeably much friendlier here, SUPERIOR beaches, great weather, great lifestyle for raising families Cons - isolated, can be more expensive than one might realise due to proximity with the east coast, resulting in limited options and frequent supply issues driving up the price of goods, PT awkwardly setup to run down the middle of the freeway rather than through any point of interest resulting in extended commute times and limiting local business’s to consumers who own vehicles, city is bland and awkwardly planned resulting in lots of wasted development potential / derelict pockets overrun by vagrancy, overall small town bubble mindset which can be hard to break when trying to motivate lazy, overpaid staff that have barely had to lift a finger thanks to the cushioning of the resource sector. People think travelling to Bali 40 times a year makes them cultured
Forbes rankings are garbage, you can’t take that literally? Who were those who took part in the survey? From what countries did they come from? This is always the defining factor. How many people belong to this sample?
@@uvdownunder we shouldn’t just believe stuff because some renoun publication says so. We should atleast get some info on the sample. I am pretty sure if you will ask that question to a group of Americans, Canadians or South Americans, most may have never heard of Perth, let alone be able to judge the quality of life in the city. It will be no different in Africa and large parts of Europe. If you will ask in Asia and particularly countries with large migration numbers to Australia or countries with proximity to Perth, Perth will probably come up. But even then, how does someone who has never lived in a place or travelled there genuinely rate the liveability of a place. If Australians are part of this sample, I can agree. Under the current economic conditions, Perth has risen considerably in the likeness of Australians given the housing affordability crisis and cost of living challenges in the major cities Sydney and Melbourne. Good content though, Perth is a good city.
Thanks for so much valuable information!!!
I'm glad it was helpful! 😀

My experience in the past two summers has been quite extreme. This year in Jan-Feb 24, there were close to 20 days above 40C
Hi Urvi thanks for the above informative video.Query - How about finding a job in HR - does perth have food job opportunities for Hr professionals?

Trains are very good.
As they say 'its a dry heat' here in Perth
Very dry but still crazy hot 🔥

Please suggest weekend long drives from Subiaco to enjoy nature same day to and fro
Yes sure, some great day trips would be Pinnacles, Lancelin, Yanchep National Park, Dwellingup, Swan valley, York, Northam etc.
I would recommend a trip to the southwest, especially Margaret River/Augusta region. Anywhere west of Albany Highway would be suitable for a weekend trip.

I understand and agree that no ranking is perfect bit Forbes is internationally recognised so quite trustworthy worldwide!
