I know you did the first video for just a few people to see. 5 Video's later you now have 175,000 views. There is a big difference between what a salesman will tell you & what a service tech will say. Even though most of your viewers will never be able to afford one of these wonderful Nordhavns I seriously think some landlubbing lottery winner is going to call you and say come help me because you are the "dude" when it comes to knowing these boats. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I dont sail. I dont live by water. I dont have any money. Why am I here. I dont know. I think I just enjoy listening to someone talk about a subject matter where they've seen it and done it for so long there isnt a question you can't ask they dont know the answer to. This guy knows Nordhavns. I even recognized the Mermaid Monster reference.

This the first video I've watched from James Knight. This had to be thee most informative yacht tour I have seen. Not only does he praise the manufacturer but also points out shortcomings he feels could be better or done differently. Not afraid to speak his mind. That's an honest man.
While I may never be able to own such a boat I do like trawler yachts. Was never a fan of fiberglass hulls for open ocean travels, prefer steel for things that may go bump in the night. But after watching this I may give them a second look.
Keep up the good work James!!!

Even tsunamis, rogue waves, and great white sharks are afraid of Nordhavn’s. They eat mere choppy seas for breakfast, and are friends with dolphins.

While I like the Nordhavns a lot, I'm increasingly attracted to the Fleming yachts. James' knowledge of boating-what's important, how gear and engines should be built, etc., is second to none, so I'd love to see a video where he goes through a Fleming and then compares the merits of the two brands. It would be entertaining and really informative!

When I buy a yacht motor or sail would not procede with the sale until I had engaged this guy to check to check out every detail stem to stern. I have watched thousands of videos on yachts for sale yet I have learnt more in this one video than all the rest. Criticaly important information to. The kind of stuff you only learn with a keen eye and experience. I guess it helps that he obviously loves and lives his work. Thanks this video was awesome.

can you do a by pass of the manual pump on the black water? like a split in the hose before the hand pump with a shut of valve that would route the black water around the man pump.. then if you needed the man pump you could just turn a valve to connect it to the system? Seems simple.. especially if it will cut down the smell. I am impressed.. I didn't think that a 1hour 40 min vid was worth it.. but this was an exhaustive video of the whole thing.. thank you..

James, your talent for showing boats is EPIC!! You go over the good, and the bad. While most "brokers" are telling me how their boat is perfect, none better. You are telling me the truth. There is no one perfect boat made by anyone. They all have areas that could be improved. James it would be an honor to buy a boat from you. Be happy, be safe.

So James -- it is fair to say that I have learnt more about boats, their maintenance and "issues" by watching your videos than I did attending a number of courses. The voice of experience from guys who make a living looking after and fixing boats is far better, to my mind, than some random instructor who just trots out the same material many times a year ....

Good point on keeping the lazarette hatch closed while running, although most fire suppression systems in my experience usually hold more Halon than needed to cover the cubic feet it’s not always the case so leaving the hatch open may exceed the cubic feet for the system. I had many years in land and marine fire protection business and saw a few mishaps.

James I love your videos. I would love to see you review some Marlows. I love Nordhavens, but like the 12-15 knot pace of the Marlow line. Your thoughts?

John, one of my techs was the service manager for Marlow. We work on a few. I like the boats but not as much as Dan Knies. One of my best technicians. They build a great boat with a beautiful interior.
If I was crossing an ocean, I’d take the Nordhavn. Bahamas cruising, perhaps I’d take the Marlow :)

So many great tips in these videos!
The hydraulic lines w grommets! Exactly. How was that not thought out!? As a retired airline pilot that uses hydraulics extensively for so many things, I can’t imagine NOT having the grommets and ways for the hydraulic lines to move freely. As he says, when 3000psi is added to the line it jolts!
Well done! Must hire him when we buy our Nordhavn!

Just wonderful, as others have said not a salesman but a "technician" who knows his craft and passion well done. Last thought, your record-keeping is terrific, have you consider alternative or mitigation controls if you have a "fire" or another event that could impact the office? Small business owners should complete an exercise and look at the potential risks and outcomes, doing this will help you consider what controls are needed to mitigate or eliminate (costly??) the risk. Would love to be your Nordhavn client someday...

Hi James yet again a brilliantly informative video. Last vid I asked if you could do the same as this for the 60....seems the 55 may come first. If you havent already done the vid I would love you to point out exactly where the differences in the length are on the 60 compared to the 55... also are the deck heights different?. I saw what I thought was a 60 and a 55 moored at Hamble (in the UK) last year and the 60 definitely looked much bigger, butcher and taller overall (although the smaller boat may have been a 52 I wasnt that close and it was tipping down with rain). Would be great to know where the extra footage on the 60 is. Anyway cant wait for the next one in the series. I hope you have a great Christmas. Carl.

    Great job shooting this, Matthew.
I would suggest getting a gimbal like a ronin if you can get one small enough. There’s just a limit to what a human can do, especially in small spaces. If you want, there are also pull-focus accessories that you can use for Iris instead if focus, which will make it easier to adjust, and if you have a lens where you can de-click the aperture ring nobody will know you are doing it,

James, you've done it again!! Another fantastic walk through. I do think you should overrule your camera man and do the 3 hour video but that's just my opinion lol. I love how you spot every little problem. Many would not be as scrupulous as you are. Tons of points for the filing cabinets full of history of the boats that pass through your company. Really appreciate your time and effort, not forgetting your patient camera man. I would love to see you walk through the 120 but I can be patient. When I buy a Nordhavn you will be my go to guy. First I want to say outstanding video you 2 make a good team. What I think really sets your videos a step above all the others is that all the others just come across as used boat ( car) salesman, where as you do a yacht review and you do it with a technicians eye not to mention your detailed knowledge of Nordhavns is very impressive. I do wonder if that knowledge extends to other brands.Plus your passion for your work shines out. Outstanding 👏. I could keep going on like you but this is not as interesting as you so I’ll leave it here. Thank you.

Now this is what I call a thorough review.....a real deep-dive if you will. Those other 5-10 minute boat videos....replete with drone footage and snazzy music clips.....are nice, however, they gloss over (or entirely miss) many important details of the thinking that goes into boat systems and construction. This video is packed with a ton of valuable information for both the serious buyer and armchair sailor alike. A huge thank you to James & Matt with their ongoing efforts.
Topic idea: Doing a boat review while onboard during a sea trial.....providing your experience and analysis while leaving out the music so we can take in the sights & sounds of the experience.

Merry Christmas All, BRAVO certainly looks as though she is as fine an example of a 63 as one could hope to find. That said, to my eye, the 62 is a much better looking boat and the ride quality combined with an extra knot of speed would overcome the tight engine room. I would also prefer 3 staterooms in the hull, or at the very least 2 bunks in the second stateroom. The pilothouse head is a great feature, and using the cabin space up there as an office is a very good idea. Thanks for the review.
    Best,
    Maldwin

Is there control over, the parts, and control of software access for the Deere components, like their farm equipment?

Why not have bulk oil storage tanks for new and used oil as opposed to buckets ? Like your detail tour, keep up with pros and cons. William

Excellent walkthrough video of the N63, informative, interesting, and entertaining. I am sure the folks at Nordhavn taken/will take a load of notes on improving the future N63s and the other models. I am sure your customers feel very secure with the knowledge that their life and joy was meticulously operated on. Your passion for what you do is a rare commodity. Merry Christmas James

Your walkthroughs are by far the most useful and informative videos for someone like me dreaming of one day finding myself inside the pilothouse of my own Nordhavn. Any chance of a walkthrough of the 43?

Your tour is priceless, a must see before buying any boat. The 63 is fantastic, although I did rather like turning passageway to the staterooms on the 63, gave more of the classic yacht feel.
