    When talking about the TOC I thought he was missing the most important expense (charging), but then he clarified about lifetime supercharging for free.
    Wow definitely ultra low TOC.

    You should upgrade to the MCU2, that will fix the IC and speed up the MCU

      I work at a shop where we repair these cars for a living, so if you want to see some more of the ins and outs of repairing Tesla powered cars and other EVs, I'd suggest checking out my shop's TH-cam channel as well (QC Charge).

      I didn't notice a huge jump in efficiency, so I'd say any effect is probably pretty negligible.

    what kind of tesla or new EV do you reccomend a first time EV buyer that makes 50,000 a year?

      There are a lot of different options on the market, all with different pros and cons (such as price, range, charging, features, etc.). It really depends on what your use case is for the car, and how much you are looking to spend...
      For an entry level car though, I would probably recommend a Chevy Bolt. They start at ~$25k, come standard with a lot of features, and have a pretty high range as far as entry level EVs go. Their biggest downside is not particularly fast charging, so they aren't great for long road trips (though still probably just as good if not better even than an older Model S like mine).
      If you are looking for something a bit more upscale, there are lots of great options such as: Tesla Model 3/Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Mustang Mach-E, etc...

    Original battery?

      According to the previous owner, the battery was replaced under warranty at around 250k mi. I only have a partial service history, so I can't 100% confirm that, but I believe it to be true.
      As of right now, the current battery (presumably with ~190k mi on it) is holding steady at around 87% capacity, and has pretty much been at that level for about the last 30k mi.

      @@AlexEVRepair that cool. I have a model 3 with only 31,000 miles. I hope to get a used S or pay off the 3 and buy my wife a Y while keeping the 3. These are great cars

      Just make sure if you get an S to know which ones are more problematic than others.
      Generally speaking, if you want the most reliability, don't buy a RWD or Performance model, as those use the LDU which is prone to a few different failure modes, and will almost certainly suffer from a failed rotor coolant seal at some point (even if the drive unit had already been replaced). Early Model S's also tend to have more issues with things like the onboard chargers, battery heaters, DC/DC converters, etc.
      I work on these cars for a living, so I'm pretty well versed in a lot of the issues, but particularly so for the drive units (which we rebuild at the shop where I work on a constant basis).

      @@chrisfifield8583 Partially correct, that warranty is only applicable for Model S/X. Most versions of the Model 3/Y have an 8yr, 120k mi warranty, with the exception of the standard range RWD 3, which only has a 100k mi warranty.
