Damn Datto spent a little over 6 hours in the raid straight, then grinded two exotic quests, and edited several videos. What a legend.
yeah, he played a game for a long time. Acutal Legend27 right there. Shoutouts to our friend from NA (our day one team was EU) that literally just stood awake on 4 gamersupps portions and tried to pull through till the very end. People like that that don't gain any monetary value from it are the real Legends, if even.

I think taniks is a perfect raid boss. Using darkness and exo technology to rebirth him. I can understand that people would be disappointed but personally I would consider it nitpicking. This is a raid I will hope ( but probably can't) to do.

Hey datto, I enjoyed the hell out of that entire stream. I installed twitch just to watch you give it a shot and ill definitely be tuning in more. Congrats on 3rd or 4th or whatever you got bud. Looking forward to your raid guide but for now get some much needed rest
Note - the broken blade you get from the Harpy shows up in your Heavy Slot before it gets reforged into The Lament (just like with the Salvation's Grip mission) so you should have an open heavy slot by default anyway.
I like that for both this mission and Salvation's Grip Bungie designed the quests in a way that you get to run wild with the new weapon as part of the quest. I hope they do this with future heavy exotic quests too!
Wyverns should have counted for that sword kills step.

The sword kills don’t need to be on Europa btw I did mine in the first part of garden of salvation raid EDIT: also the hydras and other things you kill have to be a red bar just something I noticed

the AI is not Clovis Bray the 1st, it is an exact copy of the original Clovis Bray. Banshee was Clovis Bray 1 at one point.

Not really.
Everything is explained in the Lore Entries in which this fact is stated.
Spoilers:
Clovis' Copy was transfered to both the Head and an Exo.
Exo Stranger (Elizabeth Bray) found the Exo - known as Clovis-1 - and took him from the Facility.
In the meantime, she told him everything and explained the situation.
Clovis-1 decided to help Elsie fight off the Vex from the Braytech Facility.
On their way, Clovis died and was reset 43 times.
At the end of their "Mission", Clovis decided he wants to use a Hard Reset and get himself a Fresh Start.
He told Elsie he doesn't want to remind the people about the Maniac that Clovis Bray was, so he changed his Name to "Banshee"
Elsie did what he wanted, and so he reset for the 44th time, becoming "Banshee-44".
Yes, our f*ckin Gunsmith was Clovis Exo all along.
But he doesn't know that.
Hard Reset = Memory Removal.
Edit:
I'd also like to add, that the Exotic Sword we get - the Lament - is the Sword that Clovis-1 was using to fight off the Vex, alongside Elsie.
It's also worth noting that this entire Story happend *Years* ago (aprox. 20 Years before the Vanilla Campaign of Destiny 1), and the "No Time to Explain" that Elsie gives us, she got from the same Weapon Armory that Clovis-1 took the Sword.

The void shield explosion on the minators isnt an issue with black talons heavy. It just insta kills them.
Hey for anyone wondering I strongly suggest doing the finisher part on Nessus, in the Orrery lost sector, Each finisher on the Nightmares is 10%
Watched pretty much the entire stream yesterday and already got both of these before your team even got to them, but still watched it for that optimal quality
i'll be honest every new exotic quest there is im just happy datto does these. but also hoping datto is resting well and having a nice thanksgiving weekend with all those he loves

I got the sword yesterday, though I rushed through it because I was planning to already work on my Black Mage in Final Fantasy 14 that same night. All in all, I really like this sword, especially the chainsaw aspect of it
do you need to finish the deep stone crypt raid to unlock the exo challenge? cuz for some reason it ain't showing up on mine and I've finished all my Europa campaign quests.

Tips for people immediately doing this after the campaign: After getting sword kills, you need to do Reclaiming Europa, and the quest line for The Dark Priestess.

*UPDATE ON THE BUG*
If you have finished everything I’m about to list below and it’s still not tracking, just check for the launch-able destination left of Cadmus Ridge and above the Bray Exoscience on the map; that is the exo challenge. Idk why it doesn’t track, but assure you, that is indeed the next step.
If you’re stuck on the exo challenge not showing up when you track it, make sure you have also finished the “Reclaiming Europa” quest from Zavala. Also, it is encouraged to finish an empire hunt acquirable through Variks’ menu. (Note - I believe you had to do 2 of the tier 1 missions for a story piece.) Once you have completed the empire hunt and all of the story, it still may not track! Fear not, there should be a new selectable mission start on the map just left of Cadmus Ridge and above the Bray Exoscience. Launch the mission, climb to the top, kill the hydra, and you should be problem free from there. Hope this helps.
so im on the final mission of the questline, but it wont let me pick up the sword at the reformation part, I don't know why

Most certainly. Takes less damage ammo to fully kill a champion which basically means it’s ammo to damage ration is better. The only to downsides is that it’s not as great at ad clear and that it takes up the exotic slot. This thing will shred with Lucent Blade though.

Not bugged, just a lot to do and easy to mess up for a lot of people.
It'll be one of those encounters like kings fall totems thats easy with a good fireteam. Or impossible with a not so good one.
The health bar would glitch but that was the only glitch i found

Using Severance Enclosure really helps for the finisher part and kills from the explosion count as a finisher kill

I'm glad you already have a guide out, but there is a step between Vex kills and the Exo Challenge. It requires you to complete the quests. Reclaiming Europa, Empire's Fall, and The Dark priestess. I have already done them on my titan and hunter, but I started the Lament quest on my Warlock and I have an extra step because of it.

I have finally gotten an exotic quest done before Datto made a video about it.
This looks so cool. I was gonna get beyond light, but unfortunately I couldnt due to money problems. Always been a die hard fan of destiny. And the anticipation is killing meeee.

Also, my best friend has always followed because she absolutely loves the informative evals and reviews like this. Whenever she sees you've posted a new one, she'll go in to check it out and decide if she wants to bother with a weapon's quest or not. She says that so far, she hasn't been disappointed. Datto my man. I can understand you being tired after that raid race. My team took 16 hours and started at 4.30 am (being a bunch of Aussies). Still got the day 1 emblem though.
For the finisher thing, if you’re on Warlock, Felwinter’s Helm helps a LOT by the way

Quick correction: For the Lament combo, you can get 4 light attacks in before the heavy. The way it works is that the buff runs out once you either stop attacking or the melee bar runs out. 4 light attacks leaves a little bit left which can be used for a heavy since any amount of energy will allow one to be performed. Basically as long as you aren’t guarding for to long, 4 attacks then a heavy is the most DPS.
