- I'm in love with Conditional Finality and I wanna mindlessly ramble about it for 13 minutes.
So, about the whole DPS test, it was not meant to be a full breakdown of the shotgun class, I just wanted to compare to some legendary guns just to show off its strength. Outside of 4th Horseman and Lord of Wolves, it's the best special ammo shotgun for DPS and I think most people would use this over both of those anyway. Not to mention all of the utility it brings. Don't get too hung up on that part of the video.
Also, I know Kalli damage testing is weird. The elemental damage on Kalli is almost 50% of the gun's damage, but I don't think that translates exactly the same to the rest of the game.

Freeze damage when u let it wear off on its own is around double vs if u break it yourself

Hey datto, just wanted to say a good build idea is a stasis titan with path of burning steps. made a build with it but couldn't connect the dots to make it work.
Conditional is like a Borderlands legendary and I really hope Bungie leans more into making more exotics like it in the future.
The stasis bullet patter is actually the same as one for borderlands 2.

Its a blue rarity Jakobs shotgun using the Bandit triple barrel. Fas as I remember, it had the highest pellet count of any shotgun in BL2.

Fun fact. Conditional also allows you to have every element at once. Stasis/solar kinetic, Arc energy, Void heavy, And Strand subclass.
This is the final shape build, master of all elements.
What about borealis and hardlight

I feel like 1KV was never a go-to for straight-up DPS in PvE, but I could be wrong on this. I certainly don't remember any strategies relying on it.
PvP on the other hand... It was a menace. Especially in Gambit.
Yeah I was sad. One k is unironically really good and fun to use. It’s a big laser go boom and always triggers a dopamine rush when using it

I just wish the catalyst didn't have PVP requirements. I have like 8 exotic catalysts just sitting incomplete because of PVP crap.
Bungie took the "exotics are meant to be toys" philosophy and ran with it when making this exotic. Kudos to them!
You forgot to mention One Thousand Voices when talking about the previous raid exotics. I love that gun, but it was only really good when Particle Deconstruction was around. I do like how it can scorch and ignite now, though.
1K is a heavy though so you really can't use it as much as Conditional Finality. Love the gun too, theres nothing like charging it up and shooting a big eff off beam like with 1K. I would love if they gave 1K a special version of Particle Deconstruction as a catalyst even if it only just worked for 1K just to let it be a contender in the game. Also more reserves would be great.

@@dann1483 Same, 7 shots just isn't enough. I used it through my entire solo Lightfall campaign on Legend as a Daybreak warlock, and it was fantastic.
It used to be good when it first came out, but bungie nerfed the damage because of a weird glitch where the guns damage was tied to fps and bungie set the new damage to the lower end of that fps threshold. It also was a menace in gambit, for all 3 people playing it
I love that it can shoot phalanx shields and hydra shields etc. and still ignite/freeze.
i stg phalanx and hydras remove -3 fun from the game only to add +1 difficulty
@@dylancovella1447 I don't mind hydra shields all that much, phalanx shields are ok until it's shit like neomuna where for some reason they take a full magazine dead center to break and then get back before I can reload and I'm not in the position to be aiming for their tiny little toe peeking out

Make sure you do all of the available boosting triumphs, they seem to boost the drop chance by a good bit actually

15 clears, all triumphs done, 7 of my friends got it, some of which have even less clears than I do and half of the triumphs. how does this game work man :(
Managed to get it last-night with doing 0 triumphs still heavy rng honestly
Fun fact: 1-2 Punch was nerfed last season to only grant a 40% increase to melee damage against mini bosses / bosses. This means that Conditional Finality is actually better for melee builds because once an enemy is frozen, they receive 50% increased ability damage (plus the shatter adds some extra damage). I've been running this on Arc Hunter for lost sectors and it is super strong and incredibly fun.

It also has a hidden perk of [Harmonic Resonance], which is from the RoN raid. So if you’re Solar, with the exotic shotgun, raid trace, and raid Linear you get Harmonic Resonance x2 further speeding up the shotgun reload speed, and buffing the other two weapons.
Also, the ignition from the shotgun synergies with aspect fragments like increased size of ignitions and ignitions spread scorch!

I wanna get this shotgun so bad so I can give it to my titan. I run a consecration build so it would basically give my titan two ways to get instant ignitions
the fact the gun can basically get a better incandescent for basically free is just bonkers
Does the hidden harmonic resonance also buff its damage to tormentors and lucent hive?
Notably this also applies to stasis fragments. Considering I got a double kill with just the shatter damage off a single enemy, while on a solar subclass, that could be quite nice in PvP. Problem being you'd need to run stasis for that and currently stasis is pretty damn underwhelming.
Finally I have an opinion on the new raid exotic!

One of the best parts of this thing is it doesn't just perform well, but it feels powerful to use. Its drop rate is super high especially if you get the triumphs for the raid.
then my luck is absolute shit because I have all the triumphs and still haven’t gotten it after 21 clears 🥹
i wouldnt say the drop rate is super high, not every is THAT lucky, (i was at 6th run but you get what i mean)

This probably isn't a hot take but I think Conditional Finality is in the top 5 franchise exotics now
I got it on day one of the Raid and it's been so fun to use since. I think this is not only one of the most fun to use Raid exotics, but also one of the most well balanced, it's not a damage monster like 1K Voices and Eyes of Tomorrow were when they came out that they needed to tone them down a bit, but it doesn't feel like it fires blanks like Vex Mythoclast or you need an instructions manual to use like Collective Obligation and needed urgent buffs. The damage feels good but not overwhelming, the utility is readily apparent and easy to proc, and now that you can stun champs with effects like shatter and radiant it feels really good to use.
For PvP specifically it actually is basically the best in slot. The handling is absurd compared to any other aggressive frame shotty making the chip damage/primary swaps really smooth. & Both the freeze and ignition are guaranteed kills if you hit enough pellets which can happen from much further out than a regular aggressive would be able to kill. Pairs extremely well with Shadebinder in PvP but it works great for any subclass
In terms of PVP, one quick thing. It can one shot a Titan out of a bubble or two shot a warlock out of a well of radiance :) And with all the bubbles and Barriers and rifts in the game rn. It’s amazing. Also it annihilates all guardians in their super!
I am guessing you have to rely on ignitions to get rid of the well warlock right?
You can freeze then melee a person in well and it will kill them

This is such a satisfying gun to use, and it's so applicable to so much content that I've found myself using it pretty much any time I'm not trying to do any particular build. It's a very comforting exotic to have in your back pocket.
To speak to the design of the gun a bit more, it was masterfully designed with many nice attentions to detail. After you fire the first (stasis) shot, the cold-seeker-like thing on the side of the gun disappears, as well as the stasis sound effect the gun emits, leaving you with just the fire side lit up and the only sound the gun is making is a sort of crackling campfire kind of noise.
Idk what version you’re playing… but there definitely aren’t any thongs on it.

I love this gun, I was running a double special through most of my GMs with this and a wave frame. It is so much fun for any class to use too. It replaced Ager's on my frosty Lock, pairs so well with strand Titan, and solar Hunter with Caliban's is great way to get chain ignites.
Witherhoard has been a staple exotic for almost all my builds due to its versatilty and the ability to set it and switch to another weapon once you get the catalyst. I manage to get Conditional finality after helping a lfg group on Ron and I find myself using it a lot more than witherhoard. The gun just does its job best while being super fun to use!

Crazy how simple of a concept it is yet it's so unique, fun and effective to use.
I used this shotgun during the most recent VOW farm week, and with starfire I was able to pump out damage equivalent to rockets on Rhulk. Such a nice shotgun
I know it's good because it makes me want to grind the raid ☠️
The legendaries of that raid are not half bad either apart from the GL it's all good times.

@@JustBlowItUp15 I'm talking about the Root of Nightmares, not Vow, vow had some good weapons like the SMG LFR breach GL and the pulse, and the root of Nightmares has a god-tier auto a god-tier trace rifle a good sidearm an ok LFR, and a decent slug shotgun.
sorry in advance for the dumb question, i'm new to destiny, but can you grind for this gun? i was under the impression you only have 3 chance a week to get it, granted you have 3 characters.

Divinity still wins for most important raid exotic but god damn is Anarchy fun
My only gripe is I wish we could change the order the barrels shot. I want to shoot the ignition shot first for some builds

Now I want this to drop even more, but been doing the raid on all characters every week since it’s out, done all the challenges that give extra chance (except flawless) done all master stuff, and it still hasn’t dropped. It’s ridiculous, but my luck with every raid exotic is super bad, average 50 runs needed. Feels sad man.
They need to make the catalyst be a alt fire mode where you can shoot both shots off simultaneously for one GIANT big Damage shotgun shot that freezes and ignites, it's so obvious and good that it would be dumb not to do it.
Just gotta hold down x to activate
Might have to slow down the reload after a shot to keep dps in line but could be great

i’ve been saying a trace that had a stream of all three light elements would be a dope raid exotic for a while. i hope they can make a balanced version of it if possible

It’s by far my favorite raid exotic
So simplistic, yet some of the most fun I've had with a weapon in a long time. Love running it on a void build with Unforgiven and Retrofit. Can handle any champion, effective utility, and, with Titan especially, explosions everywhere
I feel like a somewhat under rated part of this exotic is the sense and feel of rewardingness it is to get it and use. I have all raid exotics except tarrabah, acrius, eyes and conditional. I have only really ever used 1k when there was particle deconstruction (i didnt have vex then) and the others have just sat in my vault near enough since i got them. But with this it feels like a raid exotic should which is extremley rewarding if you put the time in to get it.

Couple other tips I’ve learned while using it a ton. It’s really good with stasis builds in pvp, super easy multi kills with shatter damage and it will proc ice flare bolts on warlock. Also it can proc the paracausal affinity perk for light and dark weapons

I'm trying Datto, but this one might not go well for me. No drop yet in 13 looted clears. Luckily the Nezarec fight is pretty easy, but my luck is pretty bad so it'll balance out.
That sucks but isn't exactly unlikely, I consider myself quite lucky with raid/dungeon exotics and worked out that (only including runs from dungeons/raids with RNG exotics) I have an 8.3% drop rate or maybe 1/12 chance. That said I got it first run on a boss checkpoint... so I have 12:53 of play time in this raid and the raid exotic, most of that was waiting for some LFG people to show up as well.
The catty should let it grapple if u get a kill with both stasis and solar damages individually. Would be so amazing to be like the real super shotty in DOOM

I finally got conditional finality just now, so excited to use it. I remember first seeing this video ages ago and feeling like I'll never get it, got it on my 19th run. Feelsgood. It hits like a truck for real.
A thing to note about the dps - the second shot is hitting a frozen target, so the pellets do ~5% more damage. Not much, but something to note

It CRUSHES champions, the ignitions are fantastic for clearing ads, its a very solid secondary for boss dps if you're out of heavy, and the solar shot sounds a bit like killing the tin men in Gorod Krovi in Black Ops 3.

Balanced yet powerful. Fun as hell. Looks good as hell. Great utility with the most important verbs of its 2 respective elements. Anti champ. Both shatter and ignite are great for ad clear. My only issue is that I run out of ammo too fast
I haven't been as successful in using it, I've been trying to make a build around the gun rather than have conditional complament a build. Awesome video as usual dad, remember to pick me up from school at 3pm 🙏
I got this on my second RON run and I have been using it so much, its so good and finally got a good raid exotic out of the box
Digging this shotty with Rain of Fire, getting a free freeze on any target is beautiful in a double special loadout.
Hope fully we get legendary double barrels now

This gun is the exact design philosophy I've wanted to see for so long. Unique in it's function, great in it's function, and effective at what it does, without (at least to me) feeling like the end all be all option for every form of activity. Sure yes, you can and likely will put it on as much as you can, but that's partly due to how fun it is on top of how effective it is. You can have a team of outbreak and clean house still, throw on polaris lance or cloudstrike and do better at ranges, but this gun just feels so good when you get used to it and get within it's ranges and it just, it is such a well designed gun and I also agree with the bravo bungie on this one. I hope you take the tenants that made this gun into the rest of the raids through final shape, especially with the 'triumphs increase chance of dropping exotic' finally happening. Will make the push for said exotics so much better.
been enjoying the hell out of CF lately, it hasn't seen my vault once since I got it to drop. before, my kinetic/exotic slot was always either Arby or witherhoard, and now I rotate between the three depending on application. it's right in line (maybe a little less so) with the other utility exotics for endgame PvE, but way more fun to use.
Something else that I think is really funny about this shotgun is you can proc the freeze and ignition through phalanx, hydra and glaive shields
Yep, it just checks for the hits to apply the status, not damage dealt. It's hilarious in some cases.
i'm glad to see i'm not the only one enjoying this shotgun for end game content. also some notes for pvp, the freeze shot can freeze people through shields like anteus wards, just blast the shield and the titan will freeze on the spot. i think it works with juggernaut as well? but don't quote me on that
I was 30 under power and backpacked during a raid run the first weekend I started playing. I got conditional. Always felt it was cool, but this has convinced me to give it a go with my incandescent/sun bracer build
the shotgun also has an intrinsic perk that MASSIVELY tightens the pellet spread. I don't know what it is, but I love it

I know you said you’ve never experienced that ignition collateral kill in pvp but, from someone who has, let me just say it is quite possibly the best I’ve felt in destiny in a LONG time. The fact that you don’t have to build any mods around it due to the 95 handling makes buildcrafting stupid easy and the added synergy with shadebinder makes it a force to be reckoned with. Hands down one of my favorite weapons in d2.
I finally broke out of my PvP mindset and did RoN with a buddy. It was my first time and like their dozen+ time. I was just wanting to get some weapons. Got the AR with an incredibly good roll, the LFR with an almost god roll and the Shotgun to my surprise. The shotgun is stupid amounts of fun and I am so stoked I got it on my first raid. I have done so VoG over 30+ times with no Vex but this one just hands it to me. Crazy how that works XD My buddy got his a while back and was raving about it and now I get to play with it as well. I am going to have a ton of fun with this and hopefully start doing more raids again.
i found it quite funny when in your lost sector video you used it and recommended it, as if most of the playerbase was not still farming for it and would use it if they could get their grubby little hands on it (no shade im one of them)
but yeah its very clear what it does and its very good and very fun.
im personally not the biggest shotgun fan, but this is a really useful tool to have for high level content
I just wanna give huge props to Bungie for giving us another weapon that reloads differently. One of the things that has always bothered me about Destiny is how similar so many of the reloads are, that you can put them into categories (auto rifle reloads, pulse rifle reloads, etc). I always welcome new reloads

Random other fun facts about this gun, it counts towards the RoN raid weapons origin trait, it is (to my knowledge) the only way to freeze anyone in a well in pvp, and the name of this gun itself can be seen as a fancy way to say Doom. Love this damn gun

my first thought seeing the gun was not that its a new dps powerhouse or anything of the sort i thought how fun it looked. I finally got it last week and it does not disappoint in the slightest. "chefs kiss"
And it's alot easier to get due to the new triumphs. Great debut all around for several new systems and ideas.
I just got it this tuesday and yes, it is amazing, well worth the grind
If you want to improve your odds at getting the weapon to drop you should definitely do the raid challenges (remember to claim the triumph for it to actually count)

i go nuts with this on pvp i wen flawless easily with this shotgun by far i think this shotgun is my new favorite top 1 shotgun now i kill so many ppl with the shatter i’ve frozen people out of supers i’m confident challenging supers with this gun it’s a beast imo but great video and review datto keep it up man❤
