Renata K listen i think most people understand now that we like makeup. It can easily make you feel like a goddess when you’re feeling down, can be used as a creative art form and is not only used for creativity outlet or to make yourself feel good if you’ve never had acne, rosacea, dark spots, scaring then you have never and hopefully never will understand that desperation to wear face makeup when you go to the gym, when you have a girlfriend come stay the night even though you’re just drinking wine and talking or go to run to the grocery store for something. That desperation is unbearable at times to feel that ashamed and unable to let go and realize it’s not that big of a deal most people don’t think about it for more than a second and it’s forgotten. Op was saying instead of being paralyzed by the fact that you can’t go out w/o makeup focus on some good skincare it could really turn your confidence around.

Hey Jess! I’m a store manager for a Sephora and we recently did an education on how the brand name was created. The first product that the brand owners were really interested in making was the virgin marula oil. They said that in Africa when elephants eat the fruit that the oil is made from they appear almost intoxicated. So that’s how they came up with the name, I hope that helps😊

I also love the TLC serum but didn't want to spend another $90. I found Paula's Choice Advanced Smoothing Treatment. It's a 10% AHA/BHA blend, compared to TLC's 12% blend, so it's pretty similar. I'm really liking it so far and it's around $35!

So i work at Sephora and when we were trained on DE I'm 99% sure they said it's called Drunk Elephant because when elephants consume the fruit from Marula trees, they act "drunk," So since Marula seed oil is found in many Drunk Elephant products, the CEO decided on the name!!

When Drunk Elephant trained us when I worked at Sephora, they told us that the B-Hydra isn’t designed to be used alone. They told us to mix it with other serums and moisturizers to boost it, or help change the consistency. I personally mixed it with the C-Firma serum because I couldn’t stand the consistency on its own. Try it that way, you may like it way more!

Just FYI! (I work for a place that has a lot of brands come and give us talks and teach on their products)
-like some other people have mentioned, "Drunk Elephant" name comes from elephants who get "drunk" from eating Marula fruit. DE just uses the nut of the fruit to make their oil, but that's the name.
-all of their products are actually made to work together and they even encourage mixing! The rep we had showed us how to mix them in the top of the moisturizer after pumping some up, adding all your faves, swirling together and applying like one product!
-Slaai comes with a little tube of very fine bamboo and charcoal exfoliating powder that you're supposed to add to the balm once or twice a week, so it's kind of a 2 in 1!
-all of their products are made to keep your skin in the right pH. Most cleansers are way to alkaline, and this can cause issues and is why companies sell "toner" to rebalance your pH but all of the up and down isn't good for skin either.
-the babyfacial is like the stronger older sister to the framboos, so it's more for people who need the next step up
-Youre not suppose to use the A-Passioni by itself!!!!!!! You're supposed to mix it with a moisturizer, which is why they sell it with the B-Hydra mini
I super love love love these in-depth reviews, Jess! And just in general, your videos are always so nice to watch after a rough day 💕🤗
