Awesome video!! I woke up to a buzzing fridge and this video really helped. My model is a little but different because the ice maker is in the freezer. Never the less, I was able to fix the problem. The freezer stopped buzzing and started cooling off instantly!

This was nice and straight forward. I'm small enough to fit in between the drawer and fridge, so I didn't need to totally remove the bottom drawer.

This is amazing. A great explainer and it (sort of) worked for me! I say sort of because all I had to do was unplug the cable that had some ice build up, clear it out and plug it back in. Nothing was frozen had as much build up as yours and the freezer started cooling again immediately.

Exact same happened to mine except the ice was much worse. Buzzing had almost turned to grinding and the plastic panel was frozen in place. Took hours with the hairdryer pointed under the plastic panel just to get it loose.

I don’t hear a noise but mine was packed with ice! And it says it’s at -2 but everything is still mushy not frozen maybe replace fan and or defrosting fan?

Air has to flow through the shroud in order for the freezer to get cold. If the shroud is packed with ice, that's why nothing in the freezer is frozen. You could also have a bad fan, in that the motor may have burned up by not being able to turn because of the ice, but you have to solve the ice problem or you could burn up another fan motor.
Pause the video right at 2:25, and look at the bottom and sides of the coil. You will see a black 'tube' looking thing. This is the defroster element. These go bad fairly frequently, and it would definitely cause ice to build up on the coil and fan shroud. It looks like they range in price between $50-$100 US depending on the model. Here's a video of replacing the one in the refrigerator. Same idea for the freezer. th-cam.com/video/bPJM0TCaQDg/w-d-xo.html

Thank you! This makes a lot of sense both of my fans are not working 13a&12 so I’ll be replacing those two motors and the defrosting element because I just took everything apart and melted the ice build up but it’s still not cold enough and is built up again

it will work for 2-4 weeks and you'll have to do it again, bad design flaw, join the class action lawsuit

If you keep having icing issues, you probably have a bad defroster element. Here's how to replace the one in the refrigerator, but it's the same idea for the one for the freezer.
