Hey Martin! We had some storms last night, I'm running on generator and battery power at the moment, but, all is good, sometimes life has some bumps, the trick is to ride them out without getting too cranky.... LOL!!! Thanks always for Ur thoughts, encouragement, good wishes, watching, and commenting!!! I hope all is good with U and everyone U care about!!!!
It's the carb 90% chance Mr Harvey I've had same issues alot those factory carbs just get bad to we're u cannt do anything with them BUT WE HAVE USED CHINA KNOCK OFFS FOR 35DOLLARS AND FIXED IT EVERY TIME THEY LAST ABOUT 2 YEARS BUT WE HAVE CHEAP CARB ON ALL OURS NOW AND U KNOW WE LOVE TO HUNT HERE IN OKLA.ON THESE BIKES WE HAVE 4 LAKOTAS AND 1 ATC200 LOVE THEM !! Those cdis work as good as oem in our opinion sir keep up the good work .
Having similar issue with my 2003 Lakota Sport 300. No spark. Not sure of the issue yet. I got excited when it seemed like the knockoff CDI fixed your problem. Hope you figure it out.
Hi, can you please tell me where you bought that kit? I have a lakota 300 and i bought a chinese cdi that is smaller then original. Yours looked identical.
I'll try not to write a book here, but I bought an electric Cushman Truckster, I bought a kawasaki 220 engine to put in it I don't know the year, anyway, it came with all the wires and try as I might I can't figure out the wiring, I have looked at the schematic of the wiring over and over but since I am no good at wiring, all I need is for it to start, run, stop and charge the battery, it's out of a bayou, have you got any ideas as to what to do with the wiring mess, I am not familiar with starter circuit relay, and since the start switch was on the handle bars that throws me off, and it has a key switch that seems to just kill the engine,, any help you can give is appreciated, vernon, also I have worked on about any other small engine you can imagine but these things are foreign to me.
It's worth as much as the fun you can get out of it 😅 if the rest is in great condition it might be worth the $700, how much to replace it? and will the replacement last as long as repairing It?thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones, I would probably pay the $700
Hey Donald!!! When this Lakota is running right, it is simply an amazing machine. Fast enough, rock solid, just plain fun.... One of my favorite machines, probably the bet Kawasaki made! Thanks for all Ur kind words, good wishes, thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!
i got a 2001 lakota sport 300 and itll run if i jump it with my jeep but as soon as i unhook the cables it stops running my dad was saying it sounds like the stator but not entirely sure i had it runnin for awhile n if you jumped it itd run fine but recently started this
Hey Kook, Let us hope Ur demise is a long way off!!! The Lakota needs a good battery to produce spark and they are known for the voltage regulator dying which also kills the CDI box.... Put a good and fully charged battery in it, run it for a bit and see what the battery voltage does... Should be around 13.5Volts with the engine running.... If not, change the voltage regulator... If one has the $, I would proactively change the voltage regulator and get a spare CDI box.... Both are know to fail.... Ur Dad maybe right about the stator, but, in the 100s of ATVs that I worked on, I've only had one fail.... Thanks for Ur question, thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!
Can try tapping on the old oem one and see. I Had one stop sparking so i tapped on cdi with a screwdriver and got spark back
Awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
That cricket in the garage is good luck.
Great bike.Hope all is good at Harveys home.

In my experience these Chinese cdis will make it run but there never completely right
Can you show me how to do this on a Polaris?
Almost Harvey.
