- In today’s video I’m showing you a $300 paint job with all the materials necessary to complete the paint job at a very low cost.
I’ll show you what materials I’ll be using and how much they cost while spraying the materials with the GTI PRO LITE ( copy ) by ROKELTU which is a inexpensive hvlp spray gun.

Great job, King! I would love to see more videos on the more "economy" side of things. I don't have the money to experiment with all kinds of different paint brands to find one that offers a quality product without breaking the bank. I always struggle with spending $1000-$1500 for paint and clear on a car that is only worth $3000.

I found a new trick to increase psi on small compressors.
I'm making a video about that right now.
Anyways.
So...
If you install check valves on the filters.
The air, will stay in, and not get pushed out.
Because the filters don't hold the air from coming back out.
They just let air in.
And out.
The check valves will help the compressor keep the air it takes, in.
And not let it out.
So the psi will go thru the roof.
Solid psi.
Not that flinzy low pressure psi.

I’ve used shop line JB in the past on metal furniture legs. Never had a problem. I like using the PPG delfleet essential SS polyurethane when doing metallic bases. I’m just south of you in central Ohio and that shop line is about $80 a quart down here.
I’ve had good luck with shopline and ppg over the years but it’s starting to get expensive

Nice job. About to do my first on a flip car… curious about reducing. Spraying a metallic BMW paint base coat/ clear coat. Is there a general rule for reducing? Thanks.
The paint material you use should have a mix ratio and a recommendation on what type of reducer to use and that will be how you reduce it
270+ just for the finish material + labor just for the paint job and overhead equipment wear ect. Your in it for 7-8 hundred minimum. Not including the body work, which would double that at least. And that is on the cheap end as you can get and stay open.

I spray Nason clear its $200 clear and activator at my price alone ! I sprayed a 89 Chevy truck same color two years ago and paint was $400 with reducer ? And i get a good deal or i thought i was on my paint ? And the gun around $100 ?

Have you done a pair job with turbine air system yet these machines saves 30% less over stray no water no oil I like that fugi stray I remember back the 80s my boss would bring the machine out only when he wanted to do a top notch job,plus the spay gun is nice! 💯

When you were going over with clear coat, I noticed you were going over the same area 3-4 times a go. How do you not get the drips?
It really depends on how the Spray gun is set up plus your distance and speed

Have you played with 2:1 vs 4:1 clears? Any preference?
Yes I spray 2:1 clears and it really depends on what I’m doing which determines what clear I go with

It will most likely be the first and last auto I paint ,I hear to use laqure paint on older vehicles, Do you have any thoughts on the duplicolor paint shop system, And equipment to use? I don’t really use the duplicate-color paints system on vehicles but I’ll try putting together some content to help out with it, but I would think that it would work well

You’re welcome Matt, I used my 80 gallon compressor on this job but I have plenty videos on full paint jobs with small compressors on the channel as well so I try to show people how they can paint their car no matter what they are working with 💯

I get my paint supplies locally and it’s possible that you can do the same or shop around online depending on what you’re trying to do with your projects

I appreciate you checking out the video and honestly I think it depends on your compressor setup, this spray gun has a higher cfm than the R500 so if you have a small compressor you might want to go with the R500 but if you have a big compressor you have both spray guns as a option and both will get the job done nicely

Hey king my compressor just showed up and the rv500.
I have a couple light rust spots and a couple small dents on the denali. Should i sand all the way down to the metal or just kinda sand lightly to the primer? And then bondo and rust treat and all that and then lay down new primer.
Really Depends on how bad the rust is because you don’t want it coming back, if you can get it to the primer and remove the rust you should be good to do your body work and prime
@UndergroundPaintKing Thank you🙏 How many galons each of primer, base and clear coat should I get to do a GMC Sierra Denali 1500 half ton and what paint would u suggest (trying to keep this as budget friendly as possible but there is some wiggle room.)
@@MurdahBassRecords primer really depends on how much body work you have to do and and usually you want to start with a gallon of base and clear along with the reducers and catalyst that’s needed but as far as what brand to use I would check locally and see what’s offered in your area, I don’t order paint online so I don’t really have a company I can recommend. I use ppg products myself and they have cheap stuff to expensive stuff so you have room to work with when it comes to paint and prices

came out great brother i need to try that clear but there spot/panel clear as the FC720 i would get bugs and trash for days while it drys up i wanna try the FC710 kit runs about 110 as well but i'm over here paying 170 for a quart of base wish i had a shop that mixes shopline lkq the wanda base is cheaper but i hate it and color match isn't great unlike the one i use now color match is better most the time its a butt match depending on color or super close

i've tried a lot of spot clears out of all the ones i tried only like one 58% solids dry to touch in 1 to two hours is what it says but found it to be dry in one hour flows out great to 2/1 mix 49 for a quart kit or 170 for a 7.5L kit also just bought a G90E dent puller hoping it'll pull out the dents on my charger but waiting for better weather @@UndergroundPaintKing

Prices always vary depending on what has to be done, I was able to keep this job on the low end

Really depends on what you’re doing and what kind of issue are you having with the mixing?
The 8:1:1 or 4:2:1
