  • In today’s video I do a complete paint job using the SprayIT R500 low volume low pressure gravity feed spray gun and a small 21 gallon compressor on a 3rd Generation Chevy Camaro and show you that it is possible to paint your vehicle using a LVLP spray gun and a small compressor at home in your garage.

    Never painted before, but from the video it looks like you mix up one batch of clear and do the entire car. How much of a car can you do with a single batch of clear and how much clear do you need in total, a gallon?

    • @UndergroundPaintKing
      @UndergroundPaintKing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really depends on the clear you’re using and the mix ratio also what you’re doing when you’re painting the car as far as if you’re doing the inside and outside of the car, so a gallon is where you want to start but you may need more

    Man I've learned soooo much from your channel brother. I hadn't painted a car in 30 years, but I've got a project truck I've been building and I'm almost ready for paint. I've shot the primer using my sprayit, was curious about the grant 7, I've got a few test panels (hoods & fenders) I'm going to practice on. But just wanted you to know I've really enjoyed learning from ya.

    I just sprayed my first panel with this gun, and it is amazing!! It lays down so smooth!! You have to keep it moving so you dont run it. Im used to slower passes to get my shine with my HBLP guns. With this gun, you can make fast passes and still get a great shine with no dry spots. It uses way less paint than my Devilbis GTI, and almost no orange peel. LOVE THIS GUN!!!

    Is the spray it R500 the same gun as the AeroPro R500/A610?

    I don’t like lvlp. They just don’t atomize well. I can tell I’ve been painting for years. It does a decent job just looks too blotchy I could also hear the moisture from the lines struggling as it was spitting a bit. I don’t think that was the product. More like overheat compressor. My solution. Since 230 is diff to find and the compressors are a ton of cash simple. Buy a cheap used 25 gal and have 2 air lines. Run 2 compressors switch hoses everytime u feel losing pressure. Easier on both compressors and make like simple a quick switch hose while spraying no wait time for catch up. No dry spot and no need for lvlp

    Hey, just got my Spray-it delivered this week and used it today to paint and clear some plastic pieces. Not much of a test for the gun, but seems to work well. Used just my 20 gallon compressor. Probably going to use it for base mostly. No high solids clears. I seen that video🙄. I sprayed some Speedokote medium solids clear. Also bought the Harbor Freight Spectrum pps refill kit as I already had cups and all that. Works just as well as the other Chinese pps cups I have purchased off Amazon and Ebay. It's what I'm used to. I'm 10 minutes from a HF so i'm just going to pick them up instead of ordering like I have been. Can always find something else I think I need while i'm there....

      The mix ratio on the paint that I use is 1:1 meaning 1 part paint and 1 part reducer, so in my case I get a gallon of paint and a gallon of reducer which makes 2 gallons of sprayable materials. Typically a gallon will get a vehicle this size painted inside and out
