  • The hip joints are the link between the legs and the torso, no denying of that. How can we improve the functioning of the hip joints, in relation to the rest of the body? Try for yourself, experience this movement sequence to find out.

Alfons - this was exactly what I needed! I am receiving treatments of acupuncture, physiotherapy and cold laser for pain and restriction in my hip resulting from a recent car accident but restimulating injuries from a violent attack 70 years ago. You brilliantly made it all easy fun and the child-like positions and movement gave me a sense of safety and freedom that have been unavailable to meuntil now. Thanks for you kind generosity in sharing your wisdom with such great teaching skills!

Greetings Alfons! From North Carolina, USA!
I'm a 67 yo female who suffers from upper thoracic spine pain from a slip and fall. I'm always stiff and usually in some pain. I do pilates and some yoga. Go to chiropractor twice a month.
Your 2 1/2 yo video popped up in my feed a week ago. I decided to try it. LOL LOL Now, but a week later, I did much better! It moves my body in ways different from my other exercise, which is a good thing! 😊
    Many Thanks ❤

Once again, a fantastic lesson. Thank you very much, Alfons. I have been doing your lessons almost daily for a month now with amazing learning and results. So much so, that my husband joined me for this lesson and we had an excellent time making the interesting moves and feeling how fantastically ‘moved’ our hip joints felt when we got up and walked about. Fun and learning, you are most appreciated.

Alfons, what a lovely enjoyable lesson, chuckled with you all the way 😀 The best thing about the lesson was the feeling of opening in my left hamstring, as if the knots were being untied, tension releasing. Just beautiful. I have grown so much with your lessons. So grateful for you and your work. Thank you from the bottom of my heart 🙏

Alphons, you are amazing! You have helped me so much! My back is fused from the sacrum to between my shoulder blades. I had one major scoliosis surgery and then, seven years later, I had a second revision surgery. I felt like a robot. So stiff. Lacking flexibility. So many walking problems. No pain, but I felt like a brick body with arms and legs. After five years of various physical therapies, I had to move to a remote area. My fabulous physical therapist suggested to me to try Feldenkrais. I found you on TH-cam up here in the middle of the woods. Every lesson is another exploration for my body to discover all the things it can do. I walk more freely, more upright, more comfortably….after the exercises. Thank you so much for your life work which has born so much fruit in mine.

Today I dare to do this which it was more active and challenging, at moments, and I may say the result is sooooooooooo good!! Feeling now so much supple, open, grounded and relax! Thank you so much! I am following your channel for more than a year now.Yet another creative lesson. How much more you have in store. I gave up remembering all the sequence. I guess it is limitation of memory.
While, if I feel for what my body is needed, vola.. I am already doing one of your sequences.
Later I also learnt, focusing on improving the quality of the movement is important than which sequence I am doing.

Thank you Alfons! Thanks for taking the time to make these videos and share your knowledge. I really appreciate it, I cannot afford to see a Feldenkrais practitioner for now, and do alot of this type of work on my own at home. So glad I found you. :) Feldenkrais reminds me of the ways children naturally move their bodies during playtime or whatever. It's very natural.

Hullo dear Al Fons, this was a God send for me as I was recovering from a hip flex problem and it feels so much better. I am 74 years old and felt really happy with myself as I was able to successfully do all your exercises except for the last one. I am a yoga chi gung teacher so I am reasonably flexible .
You are a lovely comfortable teacher, so natural and so likeable and pleasant and so natural.
Thank you from Brisbane Australia 🇦🇺. ❤️🙏😘
What country do you live in? I hope all is going well with the terrible virus situation causing so much suffering in the world.
We in Australia are so very fortunate probably because we’re an island continent in the Southern Hemisphere.
Keep on sharing please and teaching and helping so many people in the world. You are so very generous and appreciated.
    Warmest blessings, Mellaine Newman.

This lesson was rather advanced for me but thoroughly enjoyable. It made me more aware of large scale limitations I will have to address slowly than the previous beginner lessons I have been doing. On the other hand my Japanese wife said this particular lesson made me look like a cute giant panda rolling around the floor so I guess it was worth it...

I had displasia on the right hip as baby and it moves differently and bit painfully yet i manage to make the entire rotations. Can you suggest please some additional exercises for this type of restrains on one of the hip joints, I hope to arrive to a feeling of confidence physically for the right hip, like release the tension, free the restrein when banding it towards the torso etc.?

    • @ImprovingAbility
      @ImprovingAbility  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

yes, you can practice every day, if you do it small and slow enough. put a small towel behind your lower back so that it doesn’t flatten down to the floor. use the towel to maintain a neutral lordosis (arch) in your lower back.
My book for the back unfortunately got un-published due to a copyright claim and a cease-and-desist threat. I need to fix the problems and then publish an updated version. With the corona situation this might take up to a year...
