This session brought about the most dramatic change in my body. Immediately afterwards I was able to stand on one leg easily and solidly and for a over a minute. Yayyyy!! My standing balance has not been this good for a long time. Thank you, Alfons for making positive change via a pleasant class.

Since following your somatic education lessons I've learned so much about my body Alfons. My tight calves and weak hamstrings and glutes are causing my knee pain and I am sure I have plenty to discover about my hips. My knee pain is diminishing each day with flexibility, muscle strengthening exercises and the amazing Feldenkrais method. Thank you Alfons. Please lovely followers become a patron of Alfons on Patreon. He deserves our financial support to continue his lovely lessons ♡!

Silvana, I really understand what you’re saying about the relaxation and relief you feel in such a tense situation!
I don’t have political unrest but here in Florida when we have severe hurricanes come through, I lie on my mat on the floor and do Feldenkrais for several hours each day, because it keeps me so calm and helps my soul body and spirit stay at peace ✌️ ☮️🥰

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your brilliant, wonderful and generous lessons! I am so grateful, this is the 2nd of your classes I have done and excited to explore them all, a day at a time. Finding your channel is life changing, I feel very hopeful now about maintaining and even increasing mobility as I age. Love and blessings!

You are really the best teacher in the Feldenkrais method. The many other who are selling since the death of Moshe Feldenkrais only bullshit as Feldenkrais method surely don't like what you are doing. I recommend time and again to my new clients your TH-cam lessons on specific subject in which they are interested, like this lesson. Your work is unvaluable.

Alfonse I found a series I like, but,th-cam.com/video/CdCClhtKH2Q/w-d-xo.html, you know and I feel too much stretching.
Which course of yours would cover this best.

Hello again Alfons! The last few days I was noticing my hips feeling tight and then I happened to find this video… What a difference it has made!
I had to be very careful and use small movements to protect my knees because of a lot of pain due to former dislocation of my knees.
But it seems to have relaxed my knees. It has also greatly reduced the tension and tightness in my lower legs and feet that I tend to carry there. My fibula and tibia tend to bind together rather than moving independently. My Feldenkrais practitioner spent six months working on that, and this one session alone has relieved that tightness in my lower legs.
Several times I could feel and hear little clicking sounds as bones were rearranging in my ankles feet and knees 🦵❣️🦵

One of my favorite sessions. My hip is the latest Part on the agenda, and this very succinct and fluid class is just the thing Directly after, I "sampled" my walk -throughout the house..Very good result! Then, while rinsing my hands and holding a small glass I was made super aware of my fingers as these superbly crafted elements, seeing them anew, as though observing an animal using its claw or hand - and I was!
I had really applied myself, really combined deep relaxation (not so easy at times-ha), with deep concentration and this intriguing perception I'm certain was born of it. All of a piece, this organic wonder ~

Lesson revisited. Well, you are correct, I felt my hips after the previous lesson. Never say never..I returned today...what an amazing difference. No major cramps in the back of my legs, nor in my hips today. Today I could reach and hold onto my feet and I could move more than my last two attempts doing this lesson. I still have mobility issues to work on that is for sure and it is ok with me because I see and feel my potential . Hey, thus is almost fun.

That was enjoyable. For all your movements at the beginning, I left one leg extended while bringing the other knee up. It gave my weak groin a longer break.
I liked the movements toward the end of the video.👍
Yes, my cat kept climbing back onto me.😻

I really liked this one and " Improve hip flexion + extension tutorial ". Thank you, Alfons. Like in life, you always get better results with gentle approach...
I have weaker glutes and hip muscles on one side from sacral joint inflammation when I was very young. My one leg is a bit shorter ( functional ) which your exercises helped to lengthen. I was VERY, VERY impressed. Anything else you could offer for people like me ? If nothing else is available, I will continue doing those two. IT IS WORKING !

More questions, Alfons, if I may. You give us a lot of leeway on how to do the movements, I was wondering if doing the first few leg and foot circles on the side ( because of the pressure on my throat and chest) is taking things too much in my own hands, or if it is still ok. My body says it is, but you’re the teacher.
Love it when you give challenges: find 3 ways to do this. Now I no longer fear I might be cheating as I explore. It is exciting to relearn my body after so taking it for granted. Thank you.

Hi, the lessons have a structure. They have been carefully crafted by the genius and scientist Dr. Moshé Feldenkrais. It's like a piece of music, say for example "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" by Wolfgang A. Mozart. It's what it is, and when you want it to sound like it, you need to stick to the notes. That having said, there's also Jazz, and improvisation and the whole world with everything. Please explore and experiment. And then come back to the original lesson. And then divert from it again, make your own thinking, paths, explorations. And then come back to the original again...
To quote Moshé Feldenkrais: "I am going to be your last teacher. Not because I'll be the greatest teacher you may ever encounter, but because from me you will learn how to learn. When you learn how to learn, you will realize that there are no teachers, that there are only people learning and people learning how to facilitate learning." With those words Moshe Feldenkrais began his first North American training in June 1975.

Thank you Morley for making this remark, er, raising this important question. Why is this kind of movements important? What's the significance? What on earth are we doing here? Isn't it enough for a toddler to learn how to stand, move around, and be able to do things? Is it practical or does it have any value to re-examine how we learned to do those basic movements like rolling or getting up? I ask myself these kind of questions every day.

As for a rehab „training schedule“ (lesson selection, session length, spacing, and repetition) I have no general answer. Also, as a side note, recurring pain in the morning could indicate that something might be going on somewhere else (lower back?). But I‘m not a doctor, therefore I don‘t diagnose, just sharing some ideas for movement.

The first thing I felt as I got to standing at the end was heavy, so much weight going down through my legs and into the ground. Feeling grounded! Hip movement very open and easy, floaty. Head floating too, and chest very wide. So expansive, thank you Alfons, this will be favourite. (One small problem though, and that is the use of music while you are speaking: I have poor hearing, and the background music in the first few minutes made it almost impossible to hear you. Just a thought for future videos.)

The anatomy at the beginning is also super helpful. Your way of teaching is also lovely. I never had a feldenkrais teacher mention the four principles before: think, move, sense, feel. That was a new one for me. And in my country, South Africa, we hold up the 3 middle fingers to indicate the number 3. :-D

@@ImprovingAbility Thank you for replying.. I have been to lots of doctors and physiotherapists and so on. They all think it is just tight, especially on the left side. I realised myself that the FeldenKrais exercises are addressing the root cause of my shoulder and neck pains which most probably be the hip tightness.

Hi alfons , loving the movements . Wanted to ask... when one comes down from the movement in a pelvic lift,,, when i come down slowly.. my glutes remain contracted... is that ok ? as in , in all of the somatic movements i notice... when i come down slowly my muscles remain contracted until going back to neutral.

very helpful and pleasurable. but in the first part you spend a lot of time conditioning the right side for a much longer time than the left. is the idea just to take the instruction outside of following you and give each knee, foot and hip the same amount of time? it seems logical but i'd rather be following your movements in the video. i'll keep looking at your other videos for more instruction. at any rate i feel great! thx alfons.
