    Alfons is another legend, his work also reaches right back into the science and spirit of Feldenkrais movement, plus he makes it all fun.

    Alfons, thank you so much for this channel. I’ve been dealing with bad knees, ankles, and shoulders for years. It’s so hard to talk to my doctors and PT about what I felt was the problem. I would tell them, yes my knee hurts, or yes my ankle hurts, but the problem is I feel ‘backwards’ or ‘twisted’ in my muscle coordination, so no amount of isolated reps on my knee or shoulder will help. In fact they were making it worse. Feldenkrais is the first thing that has actually made me feel like I’m learning how to move again, like I’m not just going to keep reinforcing the same bad movements. Thank you. ❤️

    I don’t get it but it works. It feels likes there’s pressure that gets released behind my eye and down my back all the way to my hip. Thank you!

    Alfons, I am recovering from 2 surgeries within 16 months on my left hip. I can't imagine how I would have recovered without Feldenkrais ATMs. I continue to progress with your online lessons and your thoughtful and kind approach. I am very surprised at how much and how easily my left hip moved. I have amblyopia of the left eye and am enjoying the eye exploration, especially on the left because that eye does not participate fully visually. Thanks. ZZ, RN

    Dear Alfons, thank you for this truly amazing class! It has rarely been that I feel so well on the floor after a practice that I just do not want to get up. On top of it, the nagging knee pain had disappeared and both legs felt very very stable on the ground when I stood up. Again, thank you very much!

    So amazing this lesson - shoulders better aligned, hips and arches of feet! Did it twice for right and left. Loved the effect of eyes. Did this one months ago but after SO much Feldenkrais came back to it. Delightful. Thank you Alfons. Ronald

    I have been going through spontaneous kundalini activity for 8 yrs
    My whole life, as long as I can remember, I have had a “tick” where I blink my eyes rapidly & then hard
    As the pent up energy of my hips is being released I feel the pressure in my hips while meditating
    So I searched up “are the eyes and hips related” & your video is the only information on this I could find
    They are deft related

    • @ImprovingAbility

      Hi Christian, a good reminder, they indeed are definitely related and influence/help each other! Thank you for sharing your insights, and happy rolling! Alfons

      It’s crazy too, that I never realized I couldn’t feel the bottoms of my feet. Through meditation, I can now feel the bottoms of my feet, which are connected to my hip,knee and feet joints

    Vielen Danke Alfons, loved the lesson but especially the delivery. Working with the eyes is always interesting, trying to focus with one but aware that the other is participating, loved the ideas of little creatures running up and down. Was good to start with my less flexible right hip so when arrived at my 'better' left side was it better because it naturally is or had it already improved due to its participation when helping the right. Will reverse the lesson tomorrow. My right hip is so stiff it does feel like a stretch when adopting the initial position but much nicer by the end. Thanks again.

    Alfons, I love your videos. I do the exercises whenever I can and I really enjoy doing them. They are both relaxing and very effective. And you are adorable and very funny too. I love the way you explain everything. I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and hardly anybody knows about Feldenkrais here. There no teachers around. So you are my teacher. Make more and more videos, please! I have arthrosis all over, and even Pilates feels too agressive to my body. I love your classes. Thank you very very much! I wish you were my neighbor!

    Alfons, I really like and appreciate your videos. What would be extremely useful is a step by step text instructions for doing the movements. Perhaps as a comment under the video. I'm sure these text instructions will be useful to other listener sof your videos as well. And if they like this comment, perhaps you'll get a better idea of how many people want it and decide to deliver the text instructions.

    • @ImprovingAbility

      Thank you for your wonderful feedback 😊 You can use google to find more, there's a great lot of resources out there. Also, if you're in a local group, ask your local practitioner. Besides, there's quite a lot of research out there and many non-Feldenkrais resources about the eyes and the connection to everything. But of course I agree, I make great and enjoyable presentation and should provide more 🍀😅😁

    Hello Alfons, this has been most interesting, since my right hip is tight, probably fused in to the socket, and right leg is shorter, so have to stand with right heel raised in order to stand with straight legs. When I lie down, there is a space under the right knee and calf muscle is not quite flat on floor, with some tension in thigh muscle below hip. And coincidentally, my right eye is smaller than the left. I did notice improvement with lifting the right knee upwards after the eye movements. It was not at all possible to hold my right foot with right hand, and could hold it below knee. Afterward the session the space below knee was less when lying down. Interesting sensation internally of relaxing. I shall have to repeat this a few times, unless you can add further suggestions? Thank you so much.

    Hi Alfons, thnx for all your wonderful work. With this lesson I'm not improving. When I want to stare at the ceiling with my eyes closed I cannot look straight up, only 20 degrees further down. When l want to look straight up at the ceiling my eyes start shaking and what I see is swirling like drawning. Any tips?

    Hi Alfons. So. I don't know how to explain that, but my right eye is taking over from my left. It means any time I use my right eye (have two eyes opend) it is easy to see, move, or focus on something, but if I try to use my left it is almost impossible to get the same kind of feeling (unless I close my right one). I even feel that my left eye impede the right one. As well I have tried to pay attention to other things I am doing, and noticed that left is much weaker than right. My right side of the body has been always causing problems, do you think is due to weak left eye? (since they control opposite sides of our bodies)

    Hello, I love this movement. Espescially the eye movement. My hip joints are quite tight and it is a little bit hard for my hand to hold my foot. What can I do?

    • @ImprovingAbility
      @ImprovingAbility  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, most important is to give yourself time, don't try to force it. If you stay in comfort range your progress will be much faster. To be able to reach your foot wrap an extra sock or small towel around your foot and use that to hold your foot.

    As usual Loved this lesson and the way you teach. THANKS! I also would like to ask: I struggle a lot at the beginning of the class because when I crossed my leg over the other I felt all my pelvis siding, and my spine bending lateral, I felt very "twisted". As if my right hip was glued, but idk if that is just because I have a preconception that every part should be able to move independently. I tried not to struggled with that thought over the class. And OC at the end I felt much comfortable... so if the starting position feels very strange ,should I try to make my spine and pelvis more aligned in order to isolate the movement of the right leg?

    • @ImprovingAbility
      @ImprovingAbility  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Start with what is available to you easily. There’s no merit in making ourselves go to places where we’re uncomfortable. And then, next time you do this lesson, let’s see... leg might cross over differently... or as you said, at the end of the lesson it felt much comfortable... feeling is another way of ... it’s like listening ... to our voice for example, it tells us something about our current state... and even though we might not be able to sing like Pavarotti, it might be just fine :)
