VAHVA Fitness Chameleon is just harder version of lizard crawl, isn't it ? But I like this exercise. :)) How deep should I go, if I do chameleon. It is hard for me if I hold myself only on one arm and one foot. And if I go too deep a fall down, because my arm can't hold it.
The chameleon crawl, the scorpion, the tiger, lizard crawls, and the plank exercises from another video of yours fixed my spine.... and I mean that I was in pain for years..... now I am doing great!!!! Thank you!
I came here to learn more about the bear crawl and frog jumps (which I saw neither) but I stayed for the awesome new movement exercises I learned. The chameleon and crouching tiger are my favorites, maybe because they use our entire body! Great content! It would be perfect if you explained the benefits or pros and cons of each type of movement and which ones to use based on what your workout goals are :)
You are the man. I teach these movements to all my dancers and put them constantly in my dance routines. Dancers progress leaps and bounds when they practice these movements in across the floor exercises as well. Great content!
Vahva Fitness do you believe people of any fitness level could eventually get to the level (strength and flexibility) of what you've displayed here, or would only those with a prior history of athletics get there?
Incredible! Ive been looking for ways to start this kind of workout and finally came across your videos. 6 days later I am able to freeze through these workouts and finally do a handstand at will. Your videos has helped heal my rotator cuff completely after its been in pretty bad shape. Its also helped develop incredible core strength for my sport. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! As for the workouts should I just up the reps or try some more advanced stuff?
Interesting Fellow I think swimming is the best overall exercise cardio and muscle no strain too I think weight lifting isnt evolutionary were primates we should be moving like em more nature based
Interesting Fellow funny how you actually make nosense saying some exercices stiffen you and the you pick the one that stiffen your body the most aka deadlift and claim it's good, because yes deadlift is super great but it makes legs way less flexible overtime if you dont train your flexibility on its own
Everything was so smooth and controlled--great form man! I will do duck walk in public even if I'm not working out just for fun because I live in DC where people take themselves too seriously lol
On rainy days while I was in junior high school we used to have crab walk soccer games in the cafeteria... It was the best of all of our PE activities as I remember. FYI, In the crab walk you can move in any direction, and do it at a run as well. I hope someone reads this and gets up a game of crab ball... it's a blast!
You did these animal walks so effortlessly! They are extremely difficult. Thanks for uploading this video. I am going to practice doing these watching your video.
Great animal movements. I wish I had watched this earlier. I am 66 and find some of the movements challenging. I need to keep at it. It would be useful if you could provide some hints on how to do each of them properly.
So you've only done TKD and Capoeira? Geez man...you'd be a demigod of Jiu Jitsu with this kind of kinetic flexibility. I really admire these movement videos. I'm a pretty lanky grappler myself and I rely much more on my agility and fluidity than pure strength, so I try to incorporate unorthodox movements such as these into my style.
+Rolling Kneebar Great to hear. Focusing on movement drills will definitely improve strength, mobility, coordination, agility... pretty much everything
While doing the Crab, you can change the direction of your fingers pointing to your feet, this way you change the arm muscle, then low the butt till very close to the floor, this makes you reeeeally feel the burn in Arms and abs! Plus, it's such a nice thing to see Capoeira movements being spread out :) You are performing it very well, specialy the Chameleon. There is another animal walk in Capoeira, it's the Jacarezinho (little Aligator). I couldn't find a video to show you, but it's a explode push up jumping forward.
Where do you find these empty ass gyms? I really need a gym like these. Feels a lot more calming. Also the gyms I go to are always pact with people and I wouldn't wanna do these for the fear of looking stupid.
Go to a better gym. Expect to pay more for it. Your fitness shouldnt be a sub £50 investment. People spend that much on phone contracts. Hopefully you value your body more than your phone
Do them at home, you sure have the space there, no people watching and giving you funny looks and you can do them at a better pace than in a gym with people.
+Shawn Harris Thanks, right now just focusing on getting stronger and slightly bigger. I'm also working on several calisthenics skills and I should conquer the beast (48kg kettlebell) very soon.
I strongly recommend that you practice the "Duck Walk" and the elated exercises described in this video until you KNOW you can do them before you go to MEPS. It's a very weird exercise and something you would never have done before and it has probably ruined more military careers than any other physical test. A good friend of mine got the highest IQ score they had ever had in his state and the recruiters were thrilled to sign him up. He was guaranteed a spot in nuclear training program. Unfortunately, he failed the "Duck Walk" at MEPS and they cancelled his enlistment and that destroyed what would have been a VERY promising naval career. It's a BIG deal. Treat it accordingly.

Chameleon walk , this is something else. Brilliant
Found reverse sneaking ape really difficult and you did so elegantly . Wow
Thank you Moolchand, it takes practice!
You are the man. I teach these movements to all my dancers and put them constantly in my dance routines. Dancers progress leaps and bounds when they practice these movements in across the floor exercises as well. Great content!
This is the best you can do! Congrats and have fun dancing!
These are so fascinating! I need to work on more dynamic workouts like this.
Thank you, good luck!
I have not practiced these exercises since elementary school. My legs are burning, but worth it. Back to the basics! Thanks for the video!
Great, the basics work the best!
So incredibly graceful....like a dancer
Thank you!

Awesome demonstration of animal walk exercises!
Mom: What are you doing!? Are you possessed?

Interesting Fellow I think swimming is the best overall exercise cardio and muscle no strain too I think weight lifting isnt evolutionary were primates we should be moving like em more nature based
Interesting Fellow BTW hows it make it easily to get arm barred? I HAVE seen the Gracie's destroy bodybuilders on here AND women beat men very easily

Duck walk is the most serious of those walks. It's brutal. Muscle soreness for days guaranteed in the beginning.

Many gyms often have bigger areas for classes like yoga/aerobic/etc. which aren't used much when there is no class. Also picking a good time helps.

Great video ! My favorites are the tiger and chameleon walk !
Your mobility is great. What is your training background? Keep up the great work!

+Vahva Fitness Well keep up the hard work because it is definitely paying off! What are your fitness goals?

Awesome: I've been incorporating grappling centered exercises like this into my yoga teaching, good stuff.
Exercise that imitate animals movement, are great release body memory of when human were one of them. It help the mind respect the boss.
Nice! I'm a huge fan of the Chameleon & the Crouching Tiger, because they remind me of The Beast from "Split" crawling up the wall.
What crawl of these would you recommend for strengthening core and glutes?
The crab walk is a great one for both glutes and core. Bunny hops and duck walks train the glutes a lot, but not so much the core.
