however in world 7-1, there was a gap between the finish and the start where you can basically do a big shortcut long jump backwards by using the tanooki suit, so its literally easily to beat 7-1 with no help

6:47 7-1 is literally the easiest level in the game. The's the level where the goal is right at the start on a ledge. If you are playing this game backwards thin just move south ignoring the pipes and reach the goal!

I feel like Nintendo’s sole purpose for every Mario game, mainline or not, is to just make Bandy do some crazy challenge.
S2-2 might be possible. If you have Luigi in a tanooki suit, He can wall jump off of the lower part of the wood connected to pillar with the pipe, and float back to land on the wood.

I instantly knew this challenge wasn't gonna work as there are some levels that have you higher in the sky but the flagpole is down below and you can't get all the way back up from the bottom.

If W7-1 is the level I'm thinking, I'm sure it's possible.
Try jumping towards the start from the end, it's towards the camera. It should be possible if it is the other way.

Nathaniel, it is possible to beat 2 -3 backwards. There is a propellor box to the bottom left of the peach icon
I replayed and 100% it a few months back, so this is a treat to see

In S 2-2 is posible to acces the pipe! In the triangular shape part of the small bridge you can use a high jump and then wall jump to the platform!

2-3 is definitely possible with a propeller box. With 2-4, I was able to wall-jump where the stingby is on the first try

There may have been a way to continue if you die a lot of times a p-wing block appears and if you use it it teleports you to the end so that could maybe work

Who would have thought the easiest 3D Mario would be one of the hardest to complete backwards? I keep forgetting how fun the stages are tho, the game really is a blast to play through even if the weakest 3D game

some levels are possible or could use way less complicated strats, it’s just he wasnt aware since the speedrunning community is very small
