- Is it possible to beat Mario Wonder without collecting any coins? Today we're going to find that out as I try and play through Super Mario Wonder without hitting a single one! This game has so many coins to the point where the challenge gets pretty crazy. I hope you enjoy!

17:46 You can actually pass the wall of purple coins with precise movement after taking damage as a hoppycat. After that you can collect the wonder seed and pass the coins using yoshi's flutter and parachute cap.
I saw different no-coin challenges, and just assumed Operation Poplin Rescue was just impossible even with online. But, it turns out that it isn't! Great work, Fir!
Tbf he's kinda just foisting the coins onto someone else, since they had to get the coins instead of him. That's why I still watch videos like this from multiple people though, you get to see interesting differences in rulesets and execution.

@@JesseCaul by his own ruleset, no. That's the great thing about challenge runs is that different rulesets result in different executions. To be clear the other run I'm talking about went all the way to the other end because he made the people he did multiplayer stuff with *also* go coinless to get as far as he did so they could help, way more impressive, but a massive time sink that meant he had trouble finding people to help him.

Nicobbq only did "no gold coins" as usual, so seeing this take it that extra step further to also try to avoid purple coins in the same run is actually quite impressive.
If you want it go even one step further, I reccommend gamechamp3000s video about it

Gamechamp3000 did her own Coinless run, except she went for max seeds. So, if you want some WILD shenanigans, she has a good run as well.
@@LitPinata That run was nuts. Everytime they do a run I just pray for their sanity and this was no exception. It was that that made me realize trying this without collection purple coins alone is what makes this impossible. Still cool to see people come up with their own solutions.

I always find it funny when a new merino is released because all the challenge runners race to be the first to beat the game with each precondition
It's actually possible to get through the section in 35:51without online multiplayer and without touching a coin by hopping out of the Outmaway next to the flagpole. You need to take one point of damage while in the Wubba form and to hop out of the enemy right when it is on the edge of the platform with enough speed to barely miss the flagpole and the coins, but is possible

12:18 using the bubble flower, (jet run helps,) you can get a lot of distance which means you can also dodge it like that.

I have tried this challenge as well and the noteblocks that give you coins in the second level after the checkpoint is possible if you are small and make a twirl crouch jump!

Edit: He bubbled before getting the Wonder Flower and removed the barrier. Congrats, the minimum singleplayer coins is 6 now.

also is the infinite flutter jump not a thing anymore in the newer games? cause I think that would've been helpful for some of the levels

Theoretically you could get past the bridge by using the out of bounds glitch on the special world, but don't quote me on it
gamechamp3000 did the same challenge and they addressed that not to spoil its very interesting!

For this bridge, would it have worked to just skip into world five instead of going into it normally?
Like, how you skipped into world 4 earlier to try and get the invisibility badge, when you did that through the out of bounds method you ended up in a very different area than where you're supposed to start out in world 4. So, doing the same thing to enter world 5, would it be possible to get somewhere past that bridge while out of bounds?
When he went to W4, the bonus coin room was there, which I think is tied to progression (beat bowser I think). That probably means glitching there sets some progression flag wrong. If the bridge is tied to a similar flag (a reasonable assumption as it’s meant to be required), then yeah maybe that could work!
Edit: Lesson 3 - don’t overcomplicate things, idiot! I have forgotten that warping there or using OoB could bypass the bridge anyway.
Difference between Fir and Smant: Fir collected a 10 purple coin to open the bridge, while Smant would bash his head into a wall until finding a way through
Everyone is talking about about gamechamp's coinless run but no one is talking about the countless man himself Nico BBQ. He literally has a Mario maker level called never trust A coin. He is VERY dedicated to his craft.

New challenge:nom,get a friend they order any food from a store(it needs to be a item thats not in a bag or comes in a pack with multiplefood items),they will need to wait to get the food(at you house,or not)then eat as fast as they can the run ends when you get and finish world 3 or the friend finishes the food item.
Tbh the first thing in my mind with this challenge is the rhythm jump level with ninji. You get a coin if you follow along the song but since this challenge requires you to avoid it, how discordant this will get lol.

My favoirte thing about speed runners is they literally can't be stopped. No matter the problem they always find a strategy or glitch and eventually beat it xD I have no doubt they'll find a way around the 10 coin bridge.
I actually happen to be working on achieveing a full wonderless run. And yes, i do know that it's technically impossible bc of the end of world 5, but i'm still going to work on beating every other world wonderless

i think you can get skip the bridge, remember the fungi mines toad? yeah! him! you can use that small path to skip the bridge
