I think you’re right, and would love a duo of the two best female leads. I feel like I’m the only one who likes RE3 remake but I’d take more of a game like that. Put them both in a city with another old building. I’m not hard to please. I thought 8 was just ok and 7 would have been better as a stand alone game.

I almost feel like a Code Veronica remake has to happen before a remake of 5. I mean it bridges the gap in Chris' story from the first game to the fifth, after all. For a while, I figured 4 would be the last Resident Evil remake Capcom would do for quite a while, but with the excellent way they handled the story and the characters, and the way that they left things off, I guess anything is possible at this point. I don't know what to expect, but if they chose not to remake Code Veronica I would be very sad.

I need you guys to stop thinking it’s even a possibility, cv is unanimously hated by anyone who isn’t biased with nostalgia goggles. There’s no universe where Capcom looks at the 98% of people that don’t like that game and go: “oh yeah a remake of this game is gonna sell great!”

    • @icaruscrowe5552
      @icaruscrowe5552 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@yourmother9747 I mean, I wouldn't say that CV is unanimously hated. I struggle to even think of RE6 as unanimously hated, and that game was easily the least popular in the mainline series (no sense getting into the weeds of Outbreak and other spinoffs). That being said, I can see how it would be very easy to imagine that a CV remake would be unlikely. Like I said, anything can happen at this point. The only thing that's very clear about the remakes is that Capcom's goal seems to be a unification in tone and plot (kinda like the Nolan Batman films). Aside from that idea, who really knows? All I know is that everyone seemed to agree that they would never remake 4 because of how timeless it was. And here we are now in a world where the remake of 4 is easily one of the best. All we can really do is wait and see, I guess.

They killed Ethan Winters, but that was part of his big story arc and he was only ever a faceless vessel for the players in games where the antagonists were the stars of the show. With movies and games to make money off of, Capcom will never, EVER, permanently kill a foundational character like Leon, Chris, or Claire. If anything they're building characters back up with Jill coming back in Death Island. But I wouldn't expect them to do a last of Us 2 and shoot Leon in the face - everyone absolutely hated that.

hearing your idea for a possible Speed game made me remember something that feels kinda close in a way: Gods Will be Watching. A lot of the sequences in that game follow a similar sort of formula where you're in a tough situation, time is on the clock and against you and you have to make the hard choices while trying to keep your companions alive and healthy. But you can also slow things down a bit, talk to the people around you, get their opinions and thoughts because time won't advance until you make your next move and then you have to deal with the consequences. It's been out for a long time now, its tough as nails and you can probably find it pretty cheap. Worth a shot or at least a look

Tbh I think people are a little too hard on Bethesda. It’s like ever since 76 they’ve retroactively went back and now claim that most of their games were bad which just isn’t true. 76 is literally the only one that was bad out of everything they’ve done over decades and I don’t think they should be written off after 1 bad game. It’s even affected starfield. Is it a masterpiece like Skyrim? No but it’s nowhere near bad. I’ve seen people crapping all over starfied calling it a 4/10 at best which is just wild to me. Idk I feel like the gaming community just gets crazy hateful towards them now. Btw dude I totally agree both those locations would be 🔥 out or the 2 I think NYC would be the most interesting but I’d be down for Texas too and they could also do a little bit of Mexico as well if they go that route

If you think Skyrim is a masterpiece as you say then you'll probably just think I'm someone who hates on Bethesda rather than an age old disgruntled fan, to each their own, inevitably you'll agree, Bethesda cannot get any better as the people who made the games we once loved are leaving or are already gone.

Starfield isn’t perfect but it’s still a really good game & it has beautiful graphics(love Space). I think it’s one of the best of the year(solid 8/10 for me). The nitpicking on this game is ridiculous. Also the “Bethesda hate train” started way before 76. Some fans have tried to drag F3, F4, & Skyrim through the mud. For crying out loud one guy made an 8 hour video on F3(wasn’t a review just a whiny rant) & another TH-camr(Hbomber), actually lies about F3 to make it look bad. @@Farowlol honestly you’re proving our point lol 😂. You automatically assume that we are too soft on Bethesda. Listen I’m a big fan of Bethesda games but that doesn’t mean that I’m blindly loyal to every decision they make. For example: F4 is my Second favorite fallout game but I despise the dialogue wheel. If they mixed the voice protagonist and the original fallout dialogue box then that would’ve been better. Also I think 76 has a decent story idea with the Scorched infection but it’s hindered by the multiplayer experience. As for Skyrim, yeah the story is not perfect because it’s a little bit too linear but still it’s a decent dragon slaying adventure that has replay value. But despite the flaws Skyrim is a masterpiece. It’s one of those games that will be remembered for years. It brought New fans to the table(same with F3, NV, & F4).

@@Steel-101 Skyrim is simply a jack of all trades and master of none with a very good soundtrack and pretty skyboxes that came to you at a time in your life when you were highly receptive to it, probably during your formative years, it is nothing more.
It has less mechanical complexity than your average arcade game.
It had dated visuals the day it came out.
The perk trees are a total downgrade from any semblance of an RPG the Elder Scrolls was prior.
The combat is about as engaging as a point and click adventure game.
Magic was gutted so that Melee would feel less weak compared to Morrowind, the end result is that both playstyles are unsatisfactory.
This game cannot be a masterpiece, otherwise any game can just because you feel like it, it does nothing better than any other game.

Question for next video: I remember playing a lot of RTS games in the early 2000s back when they were still very popular. Games like Warcraft, StarCraft, red alert and so on. My first thought when you mentioned Speed as a video game would was a modern Crazy Taxi Roguelite. You madly drive around avoiding obstacles to maintain speed, with dialogue from the passengers of the bus or a phone call with the bomber or police. They would them funnel you to a literal crossroads where you have to make a decision telltale style and hope it was a good one. Wrong choice or you drop your speed too much, and the bomb goes off, you have to try again.

The first time I really felt an environmental moment in a game (like 9-11 esq) was actually in Mirror's Edge: Catalyst. There's a terrorist attack on a mall by a faction in the game, and you get a front row seat at the destruction, which was quite the spectacle.

I have always pictured you all scrambling at the end of each day trying to come up with the next video.

Hey Jake! Love the channel, love gameranx, and love the FPS podcast!
What would you want a NEW Batman video game to look, feel, and play like?
(I emphasis NEW bc even though I love the Rocksteady games, I’d love to see some Batman games take on a new direction).
Is there a certain story from the comics you’d like to see adapted, or maybe a unique gameplay mechanic not seen in other Batman games?
Me personally, I would love something more detective focused. I’ve been loving Alan Wake II, and having the Batcave as a HUB where you can come back to, plot out cases, test evidence, do some training, change your suit, etc. just like the mind place, would be very cool!
Being able to play certain missions in the day as Bruce and others at night as Batman is something i’ve always wanted too.
Anyways, sorry for the long comment. Keep doing what you do, and thanks for the great work and continuous content!

    JAKE!!
SPEED is a brilliant idea for a game, but it needs to be intense and no longer than an hour to play to resolve a playthrough. Have you played "Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes"? I think you need to have that kind of tension, whilst also driving the bus in traffic.
Big brain concept idea: Pop Quiz Hotshot!
Have you played "Brothers: A Tale of 2 Sons"?
Have you played the fish cutting section in "What Remains of Edith Finch"?
Split the players screen and controls into 2 sides. The left hand/side always drives the bus as you navigate through traffic. The right hand/side controls the rest of the action, like when Harry is investigating leads and raiding different locations to find the bomber, or when you're cutting wires or refuelling the bus, etc.
So the game requires you to concentrate more on driving when the traffic is bad, or there is a problem with the road, and the right-hand side intensifies when the action needs it. I imagine you'll sort of learn to do the traffic without giving it all your attention.
I think the game being sort of randomised or lets you chose your difficulty on the way by selecting different branches. For example it could ask you if you want to stay on the freeway or turn off into different districts (like at each checkpoint in "Outrun", remember that classic?!).
The RHS could do something similar and ask you if you think the bomber is in the warehouse or the sewers, or lets you choose what to say on the phone to the bomber when he calls (to try and glean some info from him).
The game should be arcade-y rather than simulate anything too real, because let's face it, the film is over the top spectacle.
But I think you've picked a brilliant subject in this film. I think Speed broke the action movie mould. Every 8 minutes or so it ramps up the pressure, and the MUSIC!!!
Honestly, open a new youtube tab and bring up the soundtrack to the movie. It sounds a lot like Metal Gear Solid to our ears now, but it's soooooo good. I suggest "Entering Airport". [chef's kiss]
Anyway. Feel free to make this games, somebody.
    Oh, final thought.
I think the original TV show "Quantum Leap" would make a brilliant random procedurally generated game.
Short 10 minute levels where you jump into a different time/person/neighbourhood and have to work out the goal needed to jump to the next, then work to make it happen. Obviously it would require a tonne of short bits of dialogue and programming to make it varied and interesting, but the graphics don't need to look that great.
"Ziggy says there's a 78% chance you need to convince Sarah against leaving on the train at 8 o'clock"
"Ziggy thinks there is a 44% possibility you need to win this boxing match tonight without getting smashed up too much, so that you can get married to Lucy straight after"

Hello there, Jake! Sending warm greetings all the way from Ecuador! I just had to let you know that I'm a huge admirer of your work. Now, I've got a question for you. Given your evident love for the Devil May Cry series, as u have previously mentioned in other videos, I'm curious, if u had the chance to direct a remake of DMC1 and DMC2, how would u approach it? Are there any alterations, beyond the obvious graphical improvements, that you'd envision making to these beloved classics? Perhaps a slight narrative twist or the addition/removal of certain elements? Personally, I've always thought abt how DMC1 and 2 could truly shine with a refreshed storyline, especially DMC2, which barely adds anything to the lore. Ur insights would be greatly appreciated! 🌟🎮

I am a completionist until it becomes exhausting. There are very view games I have actually got platinum with.
Open world games with a ton of side content are my bane. (BotW, TotK, Witcher 3, Cyberpunk, Elden Ring, etc)
If there is an unexplored area or an objective I have to complete it before moving to the next area...this caused me to have over 150 hours into Elden Ring before ever entering the capital city.
I still haven't finished Witcher 3 because of this.
It took me YEARS to finish BotW because it was so daunting to finish side missions and find koroks.
But on the same note I am bad about completing DLC. (Even if it has raved reviews)
I beat all 3 Bioshock games recently for the first time but haven't had time to do any of the DLC.
