    Great review as always. Having owned the Panigale v4 and now the Streetfighter v4s I found getting the throttle spacers fitted has really improved the throttle response and makes the whole ridding experience so much better 👍

    Having owned both the Panigale V4S and the Streetfighter, I would argue that their engines and character are completely different. I never used a gear over 3rd on the Panigale, and it wanted to jump past 100 with the slightest hint of throttle. Amazing bike, but in the end just too much to really enjoy on the street. The Streetfighter is very different - a curious mix of sensible and bonkers. In lower gears and speeds, it borders on disappointingly tame, making it surprisingly practical and comfortable as a daily driver. Get it into 4th or 5th, point the revs past 8K and it’s civility gives way to savage acceleration. It certainly shares the amazing agility of the Panigale, but in my experience the Streetfighter is not “the Panigale without fairings”. Very different bikes.

  • @TheAgalmic
    @TheAgalmic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I'm currently riding a 2019 MT-10 and it's fuel gauge suddenly drops by half which is when I head for the petrol station. The Streetfighter has, in effect, the same thing where an orange light pops up and the display starts to count the miles. So no real difference there.
    Cruise control, yes it's nice (I have it on my MT-10) but this bike is all about the riding pleasure, the engagement and fun, not about long slogs down the motorway, I already avoid all motorways and opt for the twisty back roads where cruise control isn't required or wanted.
    My Streetfighter is on order, I've opted for the standard version as I'm that average rider and I don't "mess" with the suspension, also, I don't like blingy gold on a motorbike, the gunmetal forks of the standard version look so good!

    Took one out last month and purposely brimmed the fuel tank ,76 miles till the fuel light came on . It will wheelie happily in 3rd gear but not sure if the t.c was off or not. Also the 60 section rear tyre limits tyre choice. Really wanted to buy one of these but not enough fuel range ruins a good bike. Bought the superduke instead ,120 miles to full tank and sharper handling plus 5 grand cheaper.

    Good review mate. I got a couple of questions
    1. How did you do your audio set-up? It's great to have the wind noise really low.
    2. Looks aside do you feel the street fighter is too over-engineered? Like the BMW x series were some parts constantly fail and the replacements are expensive. My guess with the street fighter is that it has too many things controlled through software, the self-adjusting Ohlins could be very expensive to replace.
    Regards.

    A great review thank, I did try to buy one they look great and I completely agree with your comments on the build quality. However my local dealer's idea of a test drive is an escorted 15 mins ride around town! Not really the way to demonstrate a 20K plus dream motorcycle. I also agree with your comments on low speed throttle response it's all I got to try unfortunately I was not allowed to try different rider modes to see if these would make any difference. @@kylethompson2276 Yes they have and very much so. But bear in mind that although this 2020 model is a vast improvement over it's predecessors it is not a Tuono in terms of cornering but it's very close. Having said that I haven't really pushed the new bike yet due to Hancock's lockdowns etc and while I was running it in I give it a few bends to tackle and found I had to correct my line a bit to get round but this is definitely due to suspension set up. For me the SDR is a keeper but have eyes on Aprilia on what the future is for the Tuono and possibly a second bike. Needless to say, as always, great review, I have one me self, in terms of throttle response, I´m counting on you either trying it in "race" or adjust the throttle respons in "sport" and " full power & dynamic" to get that massive hit, just building up power end exiting the bends like a proper missile?

      The difference is really massive. Sport is quite well behaved, yet with a sporty charachter as expected. Race is vhere you find the loonitic within and really transforms the bike to it’s more nuts and wild personality (yet quite polite). All the anger & wrath is hidden in race mode.

    G'day Mr Chops. Great video again. What can one say about this machine. It's a great exercise in form and function
    from the Italians and it's wonderful to look at but it's out of my league. I don't know how the bean counters came up
    with that price, hell it's expensive. I'll stick with my Triumph Street Triple 765, it's a blinder for the money.

      Had one. 10/10 wouldn't recommend. My '19 Tuono that I traded the 1200s back in on is faster, the suspension is somehow more plush, it handles better, has cruise, it's actually more comfortable, etc etc.

    Brilliant Italian commonsense thinking.
    We'll build a really powerful thirsty engine then give the rider a really small tank so they struggle with range, then we'll leave out a gauge to make it even more difficult to enjoy the ride. Twats.

    It strikes me regarding the fuel tank size, and Ducati are not alone in this, that fuel capacity is scarified to meet wet weight goals. Pain in the butt. For many litre bikes (sports and naked) another 3 litres would be perfect.

  • @MrAndrew1953

    Overall if it can make an average rider, a very good one, that's a rider aid worth having on its own? Just a shame about the tank size. Any other Ducati tank fit?

      while your comment makes a lot of sense, I cannot agree. Former MT10 owner here. Covered all roads and twisties in our shiny California on it. But, man, would you be surprised by how much these bikes are different! I sold my MT10 and got me Multistrada v4s instead. Boring. After a year I could not help myself but to get the SF V4 2022 model. My goodness, it is a marvel. The best bike I've ever owned. And with my 25+ years of riding experience I get thrills every time I ride this fucker. It demands respect. All the reviewers stating that it is too calm... well, change it from a pussy mode to the sport/track/rage one, and then we will talk. Remember that feeling when you get home after a ride and your heart still keeps pumping like crazy? yes, that is exactly what this bike does for me. every single time. • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've hopefully got an S1000RR coming this season as a long term bike. Obviously probably too late to help answer your question and it's a very tough choice to make! Both are incredible machines and you won't be disappointed with either. Main drawback with Streetfighter is fuel range, if you want to tour its going to become frustrating. BMW is more uncomfortable being a sportsbike but for a sportsbike it's very good! Also of course on motorways and fast roads a much nicer prospect

  • @hyperthunk
    @hyperthunk 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    What I'd need to drop £s on this is to find a fabricator who could make a bigger lightweight fuel tank and possibly fabricate a matching alternative tank cover to go with it. 90 miles is stupid, I have this issue with most of the hypernakeds. You want to take it out on a trip to see your mates in the lake district, and you've got to stop for fuel four or more times before you even arrive at the meeting point. Annoying doesn't cover it.
