I ask a girl coming out the corner store if she could braid hair and if she would braid mine sometime… The first time I picked her up to braid my hair she had me stop at the grocery store so she could cook for me. I gotta say as someone in a similar situation, understand that she might be disappointed, but this is totally ungrateful and totally not being flexible. My husband asked me to go out, and I spent a long time getting ready for our first date, and he surprised me by an at-home date. I'd be lying if a part of me that wanted to go out wasn't disappointed, but once I realized how much thought and energy he put into it and into what I said (which his what he based our date on) I felt so special and we had a wonderful time! It was the first of many dates and now we are getting ready to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary! She is going to miss out on a good man because he changed plans to surprise her.

But if a guy told me we were going out to an expensive restaurant that I've been dying to go to, then I'd be so excited for a week in advance, be planning my outfit way beforehand, spend time doing my hair and makeup, and tell all my friends where we're going and promise to take pictures. If I show up there ready for a night out and he tells me "no, actually I cooked for you and we're staying in"...my reaction would be disappointment. I have been surprised such way before and I love it, I am not the materialistic type, and if I do my makeup it is for my date or for myself, I can still take aesthetic pictures because it is a hard work made for the date, not the place. My love language is quality time and my mothers is acts of service. So if anyone made my mum food, she'd be soooo happy. Don't any of these women see dates as a time to get to know people, or is it only as a free fancy meal ? My bf doesn't know how to cook but during one of our dates he tried cooking a simple fried rice for me. He knew it tasted rather plain and apologised but I told him it was the best meal I ever had. It shouldn't matter how extravagant or expensive the food is, what matters is the thought put into it. I was really touched with the effort he put in to the meal and it made him happy that I finished it.

I can cook very well, I've had much experience in kitchen. Basically, in my comment, I was separating myself from the dating aspect of it. I was pretty much just saying that everything looks well prepared, and I don't understand how anyone except for non-meat eaters would not be happy to have this prepared for them. Having someone cook a restaurant quality meal for you is awesome, but someone who cooks AND cleans up afterward is one of the best gifts you could receive.

Okay so I've been in a similar situation, on valentines day, my boyfriend and I talked about going out to dinner. He decided to cook for me instead, (my boyfriend really doesn't know how to cook). He actually overcooked my piece of salmon, but even after all of that I didn't care, he even baked me a cake on valentines day, that just showed me how much he loved me and appreciated me to take his time to do all of that for ME, considering he doesn't even really know how to cook, he tried and that's what mattered to me. This woman is extremely unpleasant, ungrateful and she shouldn't be surprised when she ends up old and alone because of her nasty, negative, entitled attitude.
I prefer a man to put in the effort in cooking. On my first date with my now husband he had booked bowling and the wait time was two hours so we drove around talking . He kept appologizing and i said you dont have to spend money to make me happy . It had snowed and i said you know what pull over and lets play in the snow and i will say IT WAS THE BEST DATE EVER WE HAD SO MUCH FUN AND NO MONEY INVOLVED. Let me tell you all a story. Many years ago, I arranged a ‘date’ with my then-girlfriend. I ordered all her favourite food from an Indian Restaurant and then I printed (and laminated) a menu with all the food I had bought. She has a son called Cory and a daughter called Ria. So, I headed the menu with ‘Coria’ to make it look like a restaurant name and got her kids to be the waiter & waitress. We sat at my dining table and the ‘waitress’ took our order. Then, the ‘waiter’ would bring out the food. You know what happened to that girl? She’s now my wife, I adopted her kids and we’ve been together 17 years! The lesson is simple. Find someone that appreciates the things you do for them. If they don’t, don’t even consider the third date! *mic drop*

I gotta say as someone in a similar situation, understand that she might be disappointed, but this is totally ungrateful and totally not being flexible. My husband asked me to go out, and I spent a long time getting ready for our first date, and he surprised me by an at-home date. I'd be lying if a part of me that wanted to go out wasn't disappointed, but once I realized how much thought and energy he put into it and into what I said (which his what he based our date on) I felt so special and we had a wonderful time! It was the first of many dates and now we are getting ready to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary! She is going to miss out on a good man because he changed plans to surprise her.

I have been surprised such way before and I love it, I am not the materialistic type, and if I do my makeup it is for my date or for myself, I can still take aesthetic pictures because it is a hard work made for the date, not the place. Someone put so much thought into something that they made a meal at home look like a restaurant’s meal, they showed me their skills, plus showed me how they listen enough to make me a meal related to the place I wanted to go, but made it 10x more worth it because my date cooked it. My bf doesn't know how to cook but during one of our dates he tried cooking a simple fried rice for me. He knew it tasted rather plain and apologised but I told him it was the best meal I ever had. It shouldn't matter how extravagant or expensive the food is, what matters is the thought put into it. I was really touched with the effort he put in to the meal and it made him happy that I finished it.
My husband barely knows how to cook, but he tries all the time for me on occasion, and the things he makes for me, I’m always grateful and enjoy it.

I can cook very well, I've had much experience in kitchen. Basically, in my comment, I was separating myself from the dating aspect of it. I was pretty much just saying that everything looks well prepared, and I don't understand how anyone except for non-meat eaters would not be happy to have this prepared for them. Having someone cook a restaurant quality meal for you is awesome, but someone who cooks AND cleans up afterward is one of the best gifts you could receive.

Okay so I've been in a similar situation, on valentines day, my boyfriend and I talked about going out to dinner. He decided to cook for me instead, (my boyfriend really doesn't know how to cook). He actually overcooked my piece of salmon, but even after all of that I didn't care, he even baked me a cake on valentines day, that just showed me how much he loved me and appreciated me to take his time to do all of that for ME, considering he doesn't even really know how to cook, he tried and that's what mattered to me. This woman is extremely unpleasant, ungrateful and she shouldn't be surprised when she ends up old and alone because of her nasty, negative, entitled attitude.

Let me tell you all a story. Many years ago, I arranged a ‘date’ with my then-girlfriend. I ordered all her favourite food from an Indian Restaurant and then I printed (and laminated) a menu with all the food I had bought. She has a son called Cory and a daughter called Ria. So, I headed the menu with ‘Coria’ to make it look like a restaurant name and got her kids to be the waiter & waitress. We sat at my dining table and the ‘waitress’ took our order. Then, the ‘waiter’ would bring out the food. You know what happened to that girl? She’s now my wife, I adopted her kids and we’ve been together 17 years! The lesson is simple. Find someone that appreciates the things you do for them. If they don’t, don’t even consider the third date! *mic drop*
