Easy and Healthy Homemade Granola Recipe

  • Follow this recipe to learn how to make easy and healthy homemade granola. If you love granola, you need to try this easy recipe, much healthier than store bought granola. This version of granola includes pecans, almond, cranberries and sunflower seeds. But you can add other nuts and seeds to your taste.

    Ingredients:
    4 cups (360g) Rolled oats
    1/2 cup (65g) Pecans
    1/2 cup (55g) Slivered almonds
    1/2 cup (65g) Sunflower seeds
    1/2 cup (120ml) Olive oil
    1/2 cup (170g) Honey/maple syrup/agave
    1/2 cup (65g) Dried cranberries
    1/4 teaspoon Salt
    1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
    Directions:
    1. Preheat oven to 350F (175C). line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    2. In a large bowl mix the oats, nuts, seeds, cinnamon and alt.
    3. Pour in olive oil and honey. Mix well, until all coated.
    4. Spread the mixture in a thin layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    5. Bake for about 30 minutes, stirring every 8-10 minutes, until golden brown to your likeness.
    6. Remove from oven, add cranberries and stir well. Let cool completely, then break the granola into pieces with your hands, transfer to a airtight container.
    Notes:
    • This granola can be kept in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

    Put the olive oil in before the honey, then use the same measuring cup for the honey. It'll come out easier

      @wiseandgreen Depends on the person. They could be allergic. I personally prefer avacado or coconut oil, but to each their own

    I made it exactly the same, just added some coconut. Amazing! My husband loved it too, we've been adding it to our yogurt in the morning. We even eat it just like that. Making it at home cost me about half the price of the store, with no additives added. I'm making it today again and taking some to my parents this afternoon.

      I made 2 batches of this granola recipe already. Getting ready to make a third batch but was wondering if I were to change the olive oil to either avocado or coconut oil. I don’t like coconut (texture), but I like coconut water.

      Some Olive oils you can taste. That being said all you have to do is swap it for another oil

      I think I am used to the taste or use a mild olive oil. I was totally looking for a recipe that didn’t require coconut oil so this works perfect!

      Keep in mind there is a 139g of sugar in a half of a cup of honey. That defeated the whole purpose of this being healthy in my opinion.

      @@vivaeuropa ok but you’re not going to eat 139g in one serving, this would make at least 12 1/2 cup servings, which would be just over 11g of sugar per serving. If you just use it as a topping it would make 24 1/4 cup servings at around 6g of sugar per serving.

    Perfect recipe. Because I wanted less sugar. I used 1 tablespoon of honey. The tip is to make it moist so I used 1/2 cup of water. Perfect granola I had.

    I made it and I substituted nuts & sunflower seeds to 1 and a half cup of raw peanuts since I am not a fun of the recommended nuts and sunflower seeds. I also substituted the olive oil to coconut oil and added 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract. So yummy :) Great recipe.

    I used dates, coconut oil, raisins and dry coconut flakes. The taste is heavenly. I'm making another one and I'll probably substitute the coconut flakes with almonds.

    To all who dont have an oven you can use yoir frypan over heat with continuous stirring also oil your pan if none stick. I made a small amount so if your making a larger amount take it in batches unless your pan is hella big

    I cut the honey in half and used real maple syrup. I'm never buying breakfast cereal again! Thanks you for the east recipe. I also used a sheet cake pan instead of a cookie sheet. It was very easy to stir during the baking process with the deeper pan.

    How come everyone is so shocked about the olive oil? Get over it! This is her specific recipe and that much oil isn't hurting anyone unless you are eating way more granola than you need to be lol. If you don't wana use the olive oil use some coconut or avocado or WHATEVER oil lol all I know is when I pulled up TH-cam and typed in "homemade granola" I was more than pleased with this recipe and will be making it! Lol

    Loved the recipe.... it turned out pretty good but it did burn a bit even though I stirred it regularly.....next time I will take it out sooner. Also I did not get clumps of granola. But overall a very yummy recipe.

    Might want to check on this around the 25 minute mark. Mine was starting to burn in places at 29. Bit toastier than i wanted but still good

    Hi I just want to know how can I use organic raw brown sugar instead of honey or syrup bcs bcs for me it’s easily availed n economical compare to syrup n honey

    Can we use normal cookin oil or it has to be olive oil. Also as dry fruits can we add dried apricots kiwi etc. At the same time u added the cranberries.
