    I like how the Romer-G switches have their lighting centrally located on the switch, so the symbols are centered on the keycaps. Also have properly illuminated numbers and symbols for the horizontal number row.

    For those of you who are not familiar with switches, most many FPS gamers prefer linear switches because of their low resistance. However; many Moba, RTS, and high-apm gamers prefer tactile switches for the physical feedback that lets you know actuation has ocurred.
    I enjoy rocket's channel immensely but keep in mind his favorite games are shooters where gamers naturally have different preferences in their hardware. This isn't harping on him since he always says to suit your own preferences; I just want to re-emphasize that it's a stylistic choice depending on your own preferences and the games you play.

      MX slient reds (pinks) are much quieter and the romer-g are much more scratchy, and the tactile switches are so weak with the bump, they sound no different than the linear, romer-g.

    A few years ago I purchased and promptly returned a Romer G keyboard. Flash forward to the Romer G linear, and it seems like they fixed the wobbly, mushy feel, made the board with more metal, and made it waaaaaaay less mushy. I purchased it that day, and haven't looked back. Really enjoying it. Also, that short actuation us nice.
    I can from cherry silents, and loved the keys, except that for some reason Corsair in their infinite wisdom used a wobbly, loud stabilization bar on the Strafe Silent version. So I would be typing mostly silent, then hit that space key and it was like a mini shotgun blast going off. Drove me nuts. Dealt with that for a couple of years. Considered other cherry silent boards, but then heard about this one. Glad I tested it at a store then took one home.

    Great video! I watched this and a lot of other videos comparing the two and was set on getting the tactile version. The salesman at the store was kind enough to let me test both and I just had to go with the linear (red). They felt much nicer and easier to press. The difference was striking. The brown tactile switches felt too hard to press. Best to try it first if you have the chance. This is my first mechanical keyboard and maybe this also had something to do with my choice. I’m loving it so far. It feels great. I still have some accidental actuations, but think I will get used to it. Girlfriend also loves to type on the keyboard. I use it for general computing and casual gaming. My only issue was with the G Hub software. Not very intuitive at first and it took me a couple of days to figure how to change the built in profile. So far only creating a freestyle can be stored onboard. First I tried a simple solid effect, but it just didn’t work. Freestyle with only one color is basically the same, but at least work and the kb no longer blasts full cyan when I restart the PC. I was also pleasantly surprised how heavy and solid it feels.

    Have you ever used SteelSeries' Apex 150? That is what I use at home and I love how quite it is and it feels great to use. I don't like that it's not mechanical and it's a tad too big for my set up. I also don't like the light bleed. I've been looking for something smaller and mechanical to replace it with and the G513 looks good but sound level is a very important factor with my current roommates.
    Also I have MX Silents on a macro pad for work and they are kinda disappointing for MX switches, they're fine for what I'm using them for but I would hate an actual keyboard with them.

    The Cherry MX switches sound... mushy. Interesting, as that was a complaint about the first batch of of Romer-Gs that came with something like the G413 that had dampeners which were removed at some point during production (after people moaning about them seeming like rubber domes which is totally heretical to their gaming cred or something). When they find the tips of their fingers aching from bottoming out on the WASD when gaming the moaners will want the dampeners back, but it's all about the sound I suppose. Anyway, it seems the switch is dead. Logitech and Omron don't seem to be going anywhere with it even to the extent of narrowing the availability and doubling down on how propriety they already are. Shame, I like the undampened tactiles, great for flighty typing input/feedback is dead on and generally prefer them over the majority of MX types put out there.

    The fnatic ministreak pro, or logitech g pro, or logitech g513 linear for fps gaming and streaming? I also dont want to take a lot of space on my desk but i also dont want a loud keyboard.

    • @RocketJumpNinja
      @RocketJumpNinja  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd choose the Fniatic Mini Streak ... and have, that's what I use for gaming and streaming.

    I have a question about keyboards of the same switch
    im planning to buy a MX Brown switches and i want to know if the feel is the same from keyboard to another is the same if they both MX Cherry Brown ?

    what cherry mx switch is closest to tactitle? red, black or brown?

    • @xtet8087
      @xtet8087 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      None of them, because they are all so bad at doing their job. Tactile doesn't give you that tactile feedback, red has sand in it and blues sounds so plasticky

    • @J-Ernie
      @J-Ernie 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      RGB and the wrist rest which is freaking amazing and it as a Linear version but i prefer the Tactile for FPS gaming as it's got more of a click to it then the linear one the linear one is more smoother with no click.

    • @darklink2000
      @darklink2000 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      513 is for the North American market and comes with a wrist rest. 512 is the same thing but for overseas and does not include a wrist rest.

    • @J-Ernie
      @J-Ernie 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not true i have the UK version of the g513 and on Amazon they is a French and German version. The g513 is an updated version with RGB and a wrist rest.

    Wanted to put this here, and i dont know if youll respond to it. but it seems like large companies (razer, and hyperx specifically) know who you are and take you as a serious source of critisism, i just want to say i think it would be awsome if you reached out to one of those companies and designed a really good mouse specifically for fps and aim.

    Romer G switches have the best feel i had on a mechanical swithc. 2 romer g keyboards later (g810, g413) i went with their brown switches cause i couldnt stand buying a new keybard everytime a romer g switch key's feet were stuck inside the switch. Great switches but not for long.

    @Rocket Jump Ninja With your comments about 1600/3200 dpi being better/smoother than 800 etc. and the comments about 500 Hz better than 1000 Hz from the Finalmouse Ultralight Review are you using 1600/3200 dpi @ 500 Hz on all your mice? Does that carry over on keyboards too? So is 500 Hz polling rate on keyboard more stable than 1000 Hz? I know that it doesn't make a huge difference but I think it's interesting out of geeky reasons. Cheers!

  • @The_Superconsole
    @The_Superconsole 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    damn they sound so nice but i would rather prefer the tactile one than the linear one. Easier to tell if the key has actuated or not. Really annoying that it is heard to tell when the key has actuated has or not. I do like the tactile romer g switches. however the romer g switches has the sound of the spring which kinda shows that they are a little lower in quality than in comparison to the cherry mx ones. Cherry mx are the number one switches for me.

      I'm really liking the Razer BlackWidow Chroma V2 TE with Yellow Switches... just the software is bugging me with constant updates. Using the Fnatic Mini Streak with Silents lately... great keyboard but maybe I would have preferred Cherry Reds on this too.

    • @ravenmiyagi484
      @ravenmiyagi484 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lee playz maybe for a cheaper price the Ducky One 2 Skyline TKL Double Shot PBT keyboard or better a Varmilo VA87M or Leopold FC750R. And then choose the switch to your liking. If you want a ‘gaming’ TKL then maybe check hyperx and cooler master for their options. I’d go with the first suggestions but I’m not sure what type of KB you prefer.

      @zxc Well, I didn't get the k68. I got a razer keyboard this year because the g413 does not have the best keycaps/switches durability. The switches broke so many times so I just got the razer keyboard. Other than the switches it's a sick kb
