I had a Car Accident last year and my ankle, and tibia broke. And also lost 10cm born fibula. It's been one year now and Am still waiting for surgery to be done.
Your video really helped me. I stayed home for 3 days resting and waiting for pain and inflammation to go down. I went to the podiatrist on Monday…torn ligaments and hair fracture on the intermidiate cuneiform. Wearing the boot since Wednesday for 5 weeks. Now that my foot is not swollen it hurts differently and my two middle toes are still purple they do not hurt but the rest of the foot is almost normal color except the toes. Any comments on it? Thank you in advance
Absolutely incredible video! I love how he laughs at every point you know people might have a complaint about price or strategy so he has a perfect response to alleviate. Amazing.

@@DrTomBiernackiI left you a good review as well, thanks for the great content! Unfortunately I sprained my right foot really bad which most of the pain is between my metatarsals mostly my 2nd and 3rd. A lot of swelling on the bottom of my foot and hurts to put any pressure on my foot whatsoever.
I rolled my ankle back in November of 2023 (its now march 2024) ended up having a mildly displaced fracture of my posterior malleolus the ER only ever did an xray no mri, here i am months later with bone loss and still constant pain, i did physical therapy for 4 weeks only for my ankle to feel even worse. I went to get a second opinion from a new podiatrist i explained how i've still had pain and it feels like my ankle is going to constantly give out i was directed to wear my walking boot again. I've been waiting for almost a week now for my mri order to come through and hopefully to get some answers.
How is it going with your ankle? It sounds pretty much like mine. Please share if anything helped to improve. My ultra sound showed nothing but the pain still persists.
I fell going down steps in Jerusalem 4 weeks ago, inversion, hard hard hit on my ankle on the hard limestone ground. I had some bruising on the outside. 4 weeks later, it's still so sore. I've been trying to ice more and wear a brace. The pain is really quite deep in the joint. Your advice about xrays really help. I don't think i need an xray... so helpful. Thank you.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I hope that you will get better soon. After 4 weeks from the accident x-ray examination would only confirm that all bones are OK or that the healing of broken bone is in an advanced stage. If the bone was broken and misaligned while starting to heal then your bone has incorrect shape and may cause pain and other medical issues permanently. Get it checked with a doctor. Do not ignore it. As soon as I get paid, im sending you some $. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video! I am 53, and had sprained my poor tiny ankle about 20 years ago during a cat 4 hurricane, that was not fun! My whole ankle was swollen, black, and very painful. This evening i just stepped down out of my front door with my dogs food bowl in hand, and went down, this time i heard a crackling sound. I was wearing my slippers because i intended to feed my pup quickly and go jump in the shower before having to start supper. I thought i broke my ankle this time because of the crakling noise. I didnt panic, i just crawled to my freezer, grabbed a bag of frozen veggies and propped up my foot. Once the pain wasnt so bad, i looked at my ankle and there was no bruising, so I decided no ER. Unsure if I made the right decision, I came across this incredible video. THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking the time to make this video! I hope you are blessed beyond measure.
Was climbing off one of the short ladders at work- stepped onto the floor wrong apparently and my foot twisted inward. I was limping all day and told my manager but couldn't do anything til my shift was up. All I knew before now was that sprained ankles need support- so I picked up an ankle support wrap from my local grocery store. Keeps my ankle from twisting to the side and its comfy to wear!
My son sprained his ankle very badly and to recover would soak his ankle a couple of times a day in a bucket of ice water for as long as he could stand it. It worked, his ankles are 100% now.
I Recently Sprained My Ankle At Work, it's Been A Couple of Weeks Already I Went To See The doctor At Work, He Recommended Me Going To Try Physical Therapy I Still Have Some Pain When Walking And Standing for A while. They Told Me I Have Flat Feet And Recommend Arch Supports.
I twisted my ankle walking in the woods. I stepped high from rocks to the woods with my granddaughter. I felt the twist in my right foot. I had the xray and a shot. I'll get the things to help me. I do feel the pain slide up my let as I sleep.Thank you!
Not gonna lie I ignored all the research and healed 3 days. Couldn’t stand on it day 1 so I decided to stretch the ligaments by moving my ankle to what I could handle. I didn’t ice it but 20 minutes 40 minutes between icing that same day. Day 2 I decided I’d try moving around on the toes so I didn’t feel as much pain. I limped for the first couple steps then fluid movements and it’d repeat whenever I get up after sitting. Day 3 I started putting some weight on the heel and shifted weight on and off. Well now it’s the night of day 3 and I’m walking fine. Massive swelling and bruising. I thought it was a grade 2 sprain but it’s healed a lot better than what is usual for such sprain.
@@lukkjc honestly I’ve been able to walk on it fine after the first couple days. It hurt to get in and out of the truck though and that didn’t get better till a couple weeks later
A mí me dolía y fui con un señor que les dicen huesero o sobador, señores campesinos y se me quitó el dolor hasta se desinflama cuando uno va a qué nos soben. Pero es mejor estos señores que los médicos.
Thank you for stepping me through my ankle injury. I have a high ankle sprang incurred three weeks ago. You were so helpful to help me figure out what kind of sprang it is and how to support healing. I put on compression cuffs and rolled out my calves and thighs and it already feels better. Thank you!!
I sprained my ankle in April 2023. There was a little swelling and bruising and a Little pain but I could walk and weight bear immediately after twisting my ankle. I wore compression socks for 2 months but not an aircast. In July, I started to feel alittle discomfort in the outer part of my ankle. I did an MRI and confirmed that I completely tore my ATFL. Im currently doing Physio but am wondering If i should use an ankle brace daily and for how long?
I appreciate your videos so much! I just rolled my ankle 2 days ago. Near as I can tell I affected my ATFL & CFL. As soon as I got home I started icing and elevating. I swear by ice! It's getting a little better each day. I'll definitely watch it for a few weeks and see if I need to get it checked out. But this made me feel like I was on the right track, thanks again!
@@hennegen2973 It's a lot better, thanks! I had an MRI and realized I had torn a tendon in my ankle. It was barely attached and he wanted to operate to fix it, but I just kept it elevated as much as possible, iced it, and wore a walking boot when I went to work. I also used red light therapy. There are times it aches, but I'm glad I didn't have surgery. :)
I sprained it walking on the road a couple of days ago because there was no footpath. A car was coming so my friend and I moved over and I caught my foot and rolled it inwards. OMG - I walked home and shortly after it was like a tennis ball. I had the XRay today (cos the fibula hurt) to see if there's a fracture. However the doc put a tubular support bandage and it feels SO much better.. I've rolled my ankle lots of times but never as severely as this!
I sprained my ankle August 26 i was cooking and got dizzy... blank out i fell and my feet was up under me. I went to the ER the next day he said i sprained my right ankle but both ankles was swollen but he only did xrays on my right foot. My knees ache me and it hurts bad when i have the pillow up under it because my heel hurts so bad. Its still swollen. Today is September 17th and still hurts. I be so glad when it gets better. All i can do now is sit in bed cause it hurts and hard to turn.
Really helpful - I had surgery for a tri-malleolar fracture 2 weeks ago. Here in the UK, they give you crutches and a boot and tell you to do exercises. I can put weight on it while I have the boot and I'm going up and down stairs. I'm waiting for the go-ahead to start hydrotherapy: the stitches/wounds need to be checked first. The advice here is great - patience and discipline with the exercises seem to be a good thing. The pain is getting less now, and the ankle mobility is increasing. I am hoping to get out of the boot as soon as I can. I have more info from this so I can ask good questions at my next appointment.
I rolled my ankle at a Love’s Travel Stop. I was driving from Dallas to Mobile and stopped for gas. Let my golden retriever out for a potty break. Love’s had a nice grassy area but was lumpy. I hit a divot and rolled my ankle. This was the very beginning of a 2 week vacation. I thought my trip was ruined. I iced it every night and took ibuprofen about 3x/day. I was able to walk around but by the end of the day, had some swelling. I do your physical therapy recommendations, massage stick, stretching band, etc. It helps a lot. Getting better every day
Once broke my ankle at the last central training before the Dutch Championship handball for juniors,i made a spinning jumpshot and landed on my right ankle wich broke it in 3 places!!! Greetz SpieCull.😂🎉

Landed wrong while playing netball. One week later the bruising has come down but swelling hasn’t really. Nothing broken 😊 video has helped quite a bit.
Fell off a ladder and rolled my ankle inward. It's been done before and I learned to roll with the fall to reduce damage as much as possible. I've been working with, and continued walking. Although it has been a little sore, and swollen, it's been doing well. Last night, I laid down, and put my leg on my knee, and was massaging and rubbing my ankle. I don't know what I did. But the pain shot up the back of my ankle, like I pinched a nerve or something. Now it hurts to walk. There's no discoloration that I can see. But the pain is tremendous.
I sprained it while playing soccer 12 years ago and now 5 days ago at work. I was thinking sauna would help but thanks for the advice doc. I won’t be going to sauna at all for sometime.
I sprained my right ankle 2 months ago. I’m not getting pain on the ankle however the puffiness on the ankle is still there. Any suggestions as to what I can do to reduce that swelling from the ankle?

I twisted my foot on a sparring match in taekwondo. My opponent was younger and shorter than me. I was trying to adjust my fighting skills so that i couldn't kick his head as i accidentally twisted my ankle. I research about a fast recovery for twisted ankles soo i found this video and it helped me a lot. Thank you!
Hi! eversion injury and broken fibula on August 21. (Today is November 18) Complete dislocation but no broken ligaments or tears. That’s amazing - surgeon classified the injury as “horrific” ... whoa! Oxycondon-325 for a couple of days after Surgery/metal plate to repair Fibula. Wires to stabilize ankle after reset. (I have x-rays before and after) 2 weeks after surgery soft cast. Then 4 weeks hard cast. Now “air brace” for 8 weeks. (6 weeks to go!) Stretching and rotating ankle in the evening without the brace. Occasionally acetaminophen and ibuprofen. Trying to limit. Gabapentin for nerve discomfort. Originally 300mg 3X daily - made me dizzy and a bit confused. Had that reduced to 200mg 3X daily. So ... now I’m walking hobbling around pretty good with a cane to assist at times; the pain/discomfort is manageable but the nerve issues have me down - mentally. If I keep weight off, it’s tolerable - almost unnoticeable... but, when I move about it get’s really uncomfortable. What can I do to heal the nerve issue? What can I do to make this all better? Thanks (and I dog the video!)
I missed the last step coming down the stairs 8 days ago August 24th. Cortical fracture of distal end of the lateral malleolus was the results from the xrays. I was given a tall boot to wear until Sept 21, then I'm to start using the ankle brace and start physical therapy. I was told by doctor just to ice it and rest, walking a little is ok. It's still tender so I don't walk too much right now. Thank You for the tips 👍I just subscribed.
Thank you Doc for this very informative & helpful video. My poor sister twisted her ankle last week in a pothole along the marina. This week, she slipped & fell due to the wet pavement caused by rain. She cried & luckily her neighbor helped her pick up her paperwork that scattered too.
Omg she sounds like me I had a back injury in January just started to get better so decided to go for a walk in woodland with my dog and rolled my ankle over a tree root I feel like I’ve had nothing but bad luck it’s been 6 weeks and my ankle still hurts and swollen. All the best to your sister
@@TASIAawful1 Thank you for wishing my sister well. Her ankles are still swollen, but getting better. She is wearing a brace. I wish you a well recovery too!
Thank you so much for breaking down the knowledge and know how of the Sprain🙈🙏 I’m in my 6th week of healing a grade 3, it’s been real lol. Just upgraded from the boot to an ankle support brace. The one thing I feel could be left out of this jam packed info would be the videos/demo of people spraining their ankle. Yikes! It was causing flash backs of my pain & shock. Feeling very post traumatic lol🙏.
Totally agree; was wincing and biting my hand just watching! Sprained my ankle last week and need to learn about prognosis and healing. Not so keen on reliving the moment!
Thank you so much for revealing this ..I had a ankle sprain 3 to 4 years ago I went to hospital the told me my bones are not brocken they gave me brufen since then my food never been okay i couldn't wear high heels anymore i cant jump i cant run my foot is now dropping i don't have a balance I'm a cripple now Since its been a while no do you thing my foot can still be healed? Hey.. I am feeling continuous pain in my right ankle (outside) , back side of my right knee n hamstring also.... suggest some exercises to relieve my pain... I am regularly doing lunges and squats....
This was the BEST video I've seen on ankle sprains. You really went into great detail and it helped me a lot. I wish you were in Florida so I could see you as my doctor!
I just rolled my right ankle fractured my fibula. Ice was seriously my saving Grace. Because I am a commercial fisherman (woman lol) I had to wait 30 hours for being able to get an x-ray. It's been 3 days now and I'm sore but the swelling and bruising is that a minimal. I was sleeping with the ice pack on all night cover the of course. I bruise super easily so I was surprised it helped so much
I had a Rubbermaid plastic stool i used to use to get into my little popup camper. I was carrying my bag into the trailer after I finished setting up and when I stepped on the stool one of the legs broke off and I sprained my ankle. Doctor said I damaged the forward 2 and it took me 2 weeks before I could walk or even stand without the feeling of the bone slipping out of place towards the outside of my stance.
Used to ignore inward roll sprains for years while playing football because it almost healed pretty fast naturally with some deep massage and didn’t wanna stay in the bench. Annnnd gained few kilos after years and stopped football and boxing, and it started rolling like its nothing all the darn time. Like literally a small football session would roll and sprain it quickly. Kinda learned the lesson that proper recovery and therapy is there for a reason.
I had x-ray said i broke bone then second opinion doesnt know if its broken bone or strain so im resting and using moonboot will have second x-ray in 2 weeks thankyou for information much appreciated
I might've gotten all the sprains! Last year while I was hedging my lawn, a wasp flew in front of my face and freaked me tf out. I ran every which way and was not paying any attention to how I stepped. The area of my lawn I was hedging is also uneven and steps down from the concrete sidewalk, so opportunities for all kinds of sprains abound there! When the adrenaline finally subsided, I realized I could not put any weight on my right foot, and couldn't bend it in any direction. It wasn't bruised or purple, but the toes and ankle were swollen. I went to an urgent care, and was seen by a nurse; she didn't really examine my foot or anything, just told me I was fine with the wrap I had put on it and sent me on my way. Went back a few weeks later because I was still in so much pain and the bones in my ankle felt janky and completely unstable. They did an x-ray, said it wasn't broken, again did no visual or physical touch type of exam, and sent me on my way. Wrapping my foot with ace bandages added to the pain, so I kept it in a compression & stabilization sock. It took about 3 months just to feel better, not even 100%, about 6 months to feel ok without the stabilization sock. Here we are a year later and I don't know what I did to cause it, but the shooting, burning pain is back on both sides of my lower ankle, over the top of my foot, the underside of my heel, and running up to above my ankle.
I sprained both my ankles at the same time. I pretty much put my entire weight on the outer edge and side of my right foot then the other ankle let go and that one inverted too. Bruised my middle toe on the right. Scraped up the area right above the AFL on both sides. I heal pretty fast but when I walk on the right ankle without a boot it starts to hurt right away. Now the left, I think after that ankle started to roll I went down on my knee (because I got a great scrape on the left knee), but in my xrays the doc said there was this little something detached (I heard the word meniscus). Now after a month he prodded it while examining me and it hurt bad enough that I hissed out loud. The thing is even after 2 days it still hurts right under my ankle knob on the outside of my left ankle and twice I felt something move and roll up and over the protruding bone. Is that my complete ligament tear moving around under my skin? Could the examination have re-detached the healing ligament?
Good, I got my ankel broken on 10th of December and I have still pain when I walk. I live in Greece so there might be some difficulties in language. Now after almost 6 months I have noticed that rest is good as you say. I am going to my home country Sweden on June 27th and I will try go get a meeting with a doctor there. Thank you for your video
I love this video and foot doctor i looooove how u showed pictures and pointed out things by putting ink on your own skin great pictures just great thumbs up to u doc u r a blessing !!❤❤❤❤❤
Well im a skateboarder and my ankel is wrecked :/ but one thing that i do which helps with the initial swelling and pain is that i get 2 buckets one very cold with ice and one very hot, i will dip my foot in the bucket and switch every 15/30 sec for 30min between hot and cold . Im not a doctor but this helped me out many times, what im trying to do is basically move out the blood from the sprain by forcing it in and out the foot with water, trust me it is the best!
rolled my ankle skateboarding 5 days ago, X-ray came back all clear, but didn't get an MRI...im sure I've done some ligament damage as its bruised purple and very sore...hospital sent me out with a grade 2 sprain. Id say its close to a 3...really hope it heals back to 100 percent. thanks for the informative video
To my knowledge, icing is most useful in firstv24 hours or more depending on severity. Done less than 10 mins and then rest for 15 and then repeat, it helps close down bleeding blood vessels. Done MORE than 10 mins it OPENS the bleeding blood vessels so you get more bleeding/swelling. Does this tally with your knowledge?

I fractured my big toe (slip and fall) and I believe I compensated with walking on the outside of my foot, and now walking hurts, especially on an incline. When walking uphill, my entire calf seizes up so painfully that I have to stop and rest
Doctor, From my ankle injury experiences and pop science knowledge, your knowledge is impeccable. As a child, I probably had a major ankle sprain on each leg either grade one or two. As a 22 year-old adult, I had probably a grade two ankle sprain. At 35 years-old, I fractured the tibia and partially tore an ankle ligament(?) or tendon(?). As a child in the 1960s, my Mother treated my ankle sprains. She probably wrapped the ankles with Ace bandages and had me take it easy for about three days. The ankle sprain as a young adult, I treated myself. I made the mistake of using heat on my ankle. The swelling really ballooned in my ankle. I knew I made the wrong choice. Next time, I iced it and the swelling and pain went way down. Wrapping the ankle with an Ace bandaged also helped out the recovery. On the fractured leg, my friends “rushed” me to the emergency room and a orthopedic surgeon casted my leg in plaster for at least 6 weeks. The partial tear in the ankle healed 100% while in the plaster cast. While an adult, I have rolled my ankles (inversion) several times while running or playing softball. For some reason, I never suffered injuries. I wondered if my Major sprains as a child stretched out my ligaments. Ankle braces or wrapping the ankles in Ace bandages has helped out for swelling, pain relief and increase functioning. Soaking the legs in epsom salt and tap cold water has seemed to expedited the healing process of the lower leg injuries. Tylenol has helped too by attacking the pain, leaving the body to concentrate on healing itself. This is my experiences.
Thank you for this information. I had an ankle injury from 8 months ago. It was swollen and severe pain. Now there is no swelling, but there is pain only in the middle of the night. What is your advice to relieve the pain?
Could u tell me that how ur swelling has gone? I have the opposite issue of yours😭😂 I have no pain alhamdulillah but all I have is that swelling and it's not healing so any suggestions for swelling issue? Plz reply bro I seriously want to know🤧
Well good afternoon, I am here now on another video, trying hard to find solutions to my ankle issues, I did fall and twist the same right ankle 20 years ago, however i did not fracture anything... This time I was wearing ankle boots, and as I rushed down the stairs in a restaurant to use the ladies services, so I didn't leave my Mom too long on her own in the restaurant, my right ankle boot foot got caught in the left leg of my trousers twisting my ankle snd falling down the stairs with my foot still caught in my trouser leg. I did struggle with stopping myself from passing out, I used a lot of cold water on my neck and forehead, eventually got back upstairs, arrived back to my Mom's house Couldn't walk, so got taxi to hospital, x-ray and small fracture, airboot or moon boot 4-6 weeks. Still after having x-ray done here back home, just exercise and buy ankle strap... Am now 4 months since this happened... Now my Dr wants x-ray on both ankles to compare😢😮 Even though she knows its ligaments snd tendons.. Not shown on x-ray Am ok when in Apt walking barefoot or slippers but after 10/20 minutes standing cooking etc, the pain and swelling comes back Tried driving the other day, first time since July 3 and I think made it worse...Or is it just about keeping strapped and walk with one crutch, but wearing sandals and putting weight on it or not? I still have pain around right ankle bone, top of foot to 4 toes, feels like tissue damage, so many different videos ...I take only natural supplements for pain etc, using coconut oil and capsicum cream... No meds since 2015 and never not one shot for anything.. Help anyone... Make own Bone Broth from ecological veggies and chicken Carcasses, since 2015/6... Apart from having more Patience what else can I do ❤😊
Hi, I had dislocated ankle without broken bone. So I gues all ligaments has been tear. I know this is not common and I can not find information about this type of injury. I would like to know how ligaments will heal and how to make rehabilitation correctly. Thanks.
Mines an old but didn't heal properly.. it looks like a puffy pillow on my posterior due to an eversion sprain. I fell in a ditch wearing high heel boots at night (thank God 😂)... It never bruised as to why it didn't heal properly. Can this be corrected without surgery? Love your high energy in your videos!😊
16 days ago I was riding to work on my motorcycle, and a deer jumped out in front of me. At 45mph I was violently thrown off the bike. There was a deep laceration just above my ankle which took 21 stitches. My ankle is so badly sprained, I can just barely put some weight on it wearing a boot. There's a long road ahead. I'm hoping some tips in this video will help me. 👍

I sprained my ankle Playing 1 on 1 basketball and shooting hoops. I had not played prior to this for about 10 years of not playing basketball. I jumped and landed on my ankle there you have it it’s been about 2/half months now since the accident and still recovering.😮😢
I sprained my ankle and I think it,s a grade 3, I heard a snap inside my ankle while it happened. Its been 10 days now, and I'm still bruised, and it hurts alot walking. The doctors said it was not broken, beause my bone did not hurt when touched. They said even if my ligament is completely torn, they don't recommend surgery, because it usually makes more a mess than good. I do think they should do a MRI or something that shows soft tissue, so I can be ahead of a long long recovery with unknown complications. And they told me to rest for 48 hours, and then start to walk and use it as much as I can to my pain limit, then it recovers faster. They did not said anything about more rest in different injury grades, or recommended a boot or nothing, only got a supportive sock I could use if I wanted.
@@nassimsafadi3964 It's been 1 month now, and I'm much better. The first 2 weeks seem to have very little improvement. I tryed to walk and do my daily chores after the first week, and everyday was painful. But now I got full mobility again, and I'll try do a session with squat and deadlift this week. Keep in mind I was on peptides tb-500 and bpc-157 when I sprained my ankle, so they could have played a role in a speedy recovery.
@@stevenykhor3272 I'm pretty good now. I run 5k 1-2 times a week and trains legs once a week too. Got mild pains 1 of 10 sometimes, and I can provoke it by turning it all the way to the side. Healed good, but I think it needs 6-12 months for the pain to go away, unless its perminent. But i can live with it as it is for now.
Excellent video-fell down hill while in roller skates and heard 3 cracks. I been icing, resting, taking ibuprofen and using ankle sleeve. I feel fine and have some swelling of course. I have a 7 day cruise coming up on Sunday and was wondering if I should boot up ankle before going? Thoughts...thanks again.
your video is very informative, thank you . Took me by total surprise when I twisted my ankle going down basement step. I was wearing army boots and weeding, but I noticed that I also have pain in my knee when I walk. Is that something to be concerned with? I suppose if it doesn’t get better I’ll have to go get an x-ray. The Fourth of July is coming up and I can’t see jumping to conclusions.

Was just helping a friend load some branches into a trailer, missed a step and extended my foot downward with my toes which ended up going inward and rolled the ankle outwards...heard an extremely loud pop/snap... was in immediate pain walked it off til it stopped hurting, which it did at the time. but hurts with I try to point my foot inward but doesn't hurt push outward.. no bruises just a pretty good swelling
@Hernandez90s yea I ended up going in for x-rays later that evening after not being able to tolerate the pain, foot was throbbing n swollen....but luckily everything came back negative n was good...no fracture, nothing broke... just kept icing it and was limping for a few days

@@DrTomBiernackiI left you a good review as well, thanks for the great content! Unfortunately I sprained my right foot really bad which most of the pain is between my metatarsals mostly my 2nd and 3rd. A lot of swelling on the bottom of my foot and hurts to put any pressure on my foot whatsoever.
Great advice on ankle braces!
I twisted my ankle on an icy stairway. And I DON'T want it to happen again this winter!

I sprained my ankle in April 2023. There was a little swelling and bruising and a Little pain but I could walk and weight bear immediately after twisting my ankle.
I rolled my ankle while running. That's been years ago. I am still having pain. I enjoyed your video.
Thank you so much for this timely information

Hi! eversion injury and broken fibula on August 21.
The boot and ice helped the most. two days with the two helped the most.

I roll my feet and my heel and ankle hurts currently hope the video helps
Well im a skateboarder and my ankel is wrecked :/ but one thing that i do which helps with the initial swelling and pain is that i get 2 buckets one very cold with ice and one very hot, i will dip my foot in the bucket and switch every 15/30 sec for 30min between hot and cold . Im not a doctor but this helped me out many times, what im trying to do is basically move out the blood from the sprain by forcing it in and out the foot with water, trust me it is the best!
I’m also a skateboarder and I sprained my ankle too. I had to go to the hospital for my injury and the doctor said ice it and go to physical therapy.
rolled my ankle skateboarding 5 days ago, X-ray came back all clear, but didn't get an MRI...im sure I've done some ligament damage as its bruised purple and very sore...hospital sent me out with a grade 2 sprain. Id say its close to a 3...really hope it heals back to 100 percent. thanks for the informative video

Ankle pain is on the outer of my left ankle . No pain while walking but when you get up there is pain on the portion just above outer ankle

Thanks doc I had so many learn from you how to heal my uncle

I did struggle with stopping myself from passing out, I used a lot of cold water on my neck and forehead, eventually got back upstairs, arrived back to my Mom's house
Couldn't walk, so got taxi to hospital, x-ray and small fracture, airboot or moon boot
4-6 weeks. Still after having x-ray done here back home, just exercise and buy ankle strap...
Am now 4 months since this happened...
Now my Dr wants x-ray on both ankles to compare😢😮
Even though she knows its ligaments snd tendons..
Not shown on x-ray
Am ok when in Apt walking barefoot or slippers but after 10/20 minutes standing cooking etc, the pain and swelling comes back
Tried driving the other day, first time since July 3 and I think made it worse...Or is it just about keeping strapped and walk with one crutch, but wearing sandals and putting weight on it or not?
Absolutely it can be, check out some of my newer flat foot videos or on overpronation, those should really help 🙏❤️😊
What rehabilitation methods would I use if I had sprained my ankles multiple times during the past year or so but I still feel pain when I exercise?
Thank you this is very helpful for my ankle sprain
We appreciate you watching, I hope you are having an amazing start to the new year! 😊🙏❤

What are your thoughts on using rubber stretch bands to gently work the muscles of the ankle while recovering?

How do you feel now I have the same problem and it hurts a lot when I walk
@@nassimsafadi3964 It's been 1 month now, and I'm much better. The first 2 weeks seem to have very little improvement. I tryed to walk and do my daily chores after the first week, and everyday was painful. But now I got full mobility again, and I'll try do a session with squat and deadlift this week. Keep in mind I was on peptides tb-500 and bpc-157 when I sprained my ankle, so they could have played a role in a speedy recovery.
@@nassimsafadi3964 How are you now??
How are you now? I just sprained a week ago and definitely torn my ligaments. It hurts as hell walking despite resting for a week.
Awesome video !! Thanks for the detailed explanation 🙏🙏
Thank you your videos are very interesting and informative.

I sprained my foot really bad... Any direct advice for the foot between the metatarsals?
Was just helping a friend load some branches into a trailer, missed a step and extended my foot downward with my toes which ended up going inward and rolled the ankle outwards...heard an extremely loud pop/snap... was in immediate pain walked it off til it stopped hurting, which it did at the time. but hurts with I try to point my foot inward but doesn't hurt push outward.. no bruises just a pretty good swelling
Ouch ya that is tough, a pop is never great. Always get checked out if worried!
Did you ever get it checked to see if you fully ruptured it?
@Hernandez90s yea I ended up going in for x-rays later that evening after not being able to tolerate the pain, foot was throbbing n swollen....but luckily everything came back negative n was good...no fracture, nothing broke... just kept icing it and was limping for a few days
Injured mine 5 weeks ago walking the dog on a rocky path way ,turned to put on the lead and went over a rock my ankle landed on the ground walked a mile home before I went to hospital x-rays showed no break but it's still sore, swollen and purple. Get pins and needles but I do have feeling. I think it must be a grade 2 or three because it is so wobbly when I try to weight bare . Any tips?
