Jaguar E-Type Lightweight Recreated
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 16 ธ.ค. 2013
- Recreating a factory race car from the 1960s is no simple task-for Jason Len and his 1964 Jaguar E-Type, the challenges were no different. The hours and materials to build something of this magnitude far exceed any dollar amount that could be recouped from the finished car's sale, but this is irrelevant for Jason. To him, the idea of owning and recreating this car is simply about chasing a dream. He devoted his life to Jaguars, so when it came to deciding whether or not to build the car, there was no other choice that could be made. Beyond its glorious engine notes and inspiring visual presence, this car enjoys something that very few cars are allowed: a furiously fast pilot. After purchasing this car over 30 years ago, this E-type has never looked-or driven-better.

SwonzX as a p0rnstar
But not THIS car.
Clair de Lune + racing sounds = music of ecstasy!
This!
Imagine being that professor and looking at this video...
He said bonnet rather than hood. I love his attention to the detail...even using British terms. Splendid.
Good Show!
E by gum
Ben Ellis Still mispronounced "al-u-min-i-um" as "al-u-min-um", and "Jag-u-ar" as "Jag-wah" though 😀
Ben Ellis ..... Hood or bonnet? Trunk or boot? BTW Talking about Britain I would like to phase out Le Cricket. What a waste of time and energy. This is how it could be done: ADIDAS, Germany will donate 999 million footballs (soccer balls) to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh and in 5-10 years one of these countries will qualify for the FIFA World Cup Cup. Splendid idea, right? Bangkok-Johnnie a true Petrolicious fan. Here in car crazy Thailand. Say “Cricket” and everyone thinks you’re talking about an insect.
John K Lindgren ok mate
Those rolling shots are to die for. The motion, the sound, its heaven!
Still one of the most beautiful and balanced cars on the road even today it makes people gawp at it delicious lines, long hail the Type Jag!
Never expected a Jaguar but then again never disappointed. Drive Tastefully :)
The E-Type is probably one of the sexiest cars ever built!
The E-Type is pure art! This car is just one of the most beatiful ever built! Thanks for another great video!
What you lose in power you gain in looks! This car is one of the few things that makes me proud to be British.
few things? I’d say there’s a lot of things.
Don't get me wrong, I love the sound of newer engines. However, there is something magical about the sound of classic engines. They have so much more character and sound so much more alive.
That jag six sounds beautiful! Especially with his custom header and engine work. Fantastic machine Jason!
Thanks!
@@Jagracer15 it’s actually you lol
Love what Jason Len has done to this XKE.
I'm salivating after watching your E-Type the very first time. However I've watched it at least 4 times, now my keyboard is wet!
Great job on your recreation of the Lightweight Jag. Love, love to see your race around the track and the sound of your custom motor is nothing short of thrilling. Thanks so much.
10yrs later, I still enjoy this. Thanks petrolicious.
The combined package of this chap, his car & his ethos, is the very definition of 'petrolhead'. Just proves the 'power is nothing without control' phrase IMO.
More of this please Petrolicious...
Oh also one of my favorite Piano pieces too; Clair De Lune. Thanks Jason.
one of the most beautiful pieces of art ever created its almost too pretty to look at
It's one thing to live the dream, but to share it like you did this way, is truly priceless. Thank you...
Another super little film - great to see a straight 6 car of any type being given some exposure, especially from the 60s. A racing DB4 or DB5 might make a good subject too!
I totally agree with you! A DB4 Zagato would be awesome :)
Absolutely stunning, I saw the E-type at the Geneva Car show in 2011, to celebrate its 50th anniversary. I would not be surprised if its legendary beauty will be celebrated 100 years from now, and with even greater fanfare.
I want to drive one of these before I die.
You have done it again Petrolicious! Great film, great story, great car!
I'm always amazed by you're like to dislike ratio, i've seen videos on your channel go humdreds of likes before the first guy, for whatever reason dislikes it. I've never seen anything like it before
That might be because this channel attracts a more mature crowd, that appreciates the effort people put into their cars. It's not about the car itself or the guy hosting the video, it's about the passion people have for their cars and they're doing a great job telling those stories. There isn't much to dislike.
What a beautiful car, truly stunning
Please go to England and film the Eagle Speedster. The most beautiful thing on earth.
True, when I saw the car in Top Gear, I fell in love
Francisco Candeias Why not go all out for the Eagle Low Drag GT?
Keep it up. You are easily my fave channel on youtube. I agree its fun to drive a slow car fast. I auto-x about ten years ago a 91 civic hatch. I couldn't find the SI so settled on the dx. That car was a blast at about 80hp.
ive seen him a few times on lenos channel and he does amazing work
Love these videos! Not only the cars but the great story and music. Perfection!
As a veteran of driving and preparing small bore race cars, Len, I must fully agree: I learned MUCH more about driving technique in my (smallest in class, at the time) GT5 1200 Datsun.
Fantastic seeing an old E-Type going toe to toe with Stingrays on the track. Beautiful.
Thank you petrolicious, The art in your videos is beautiful, the music, the story, the camera angles, Stunning, simple Stunning!
Thank you....
What a joy! My favourite car and my joint favourite composer. Without going to the trouble of researching it, the roofline seems more like that of a standard, road E-Type, than the Lightweight - and none the worse for that! As always, a fine video. Thanks!
All your videos are excellent and this is the best so far
This channel, the cars depicted, the people involved, hell even the commenters here all classy! It's great to see such level-headed discussion going on around here :)
Absolute pure unadulterated swag, The car the music, narration,
everything.
What a machine.....Awesome car Jason 👍
The car is amazing but the videography - - just wow love the opening sequence, music to video, the rolling shot of the E-type on the track is just the best.
And again the Jag E-type is amazing and one that I can only dream about.
I was there at Silverstone when they set a world record for most jaguar e type on one track at one time. But for me this e type is the most beautiful one I've ever seen. Absolute respect for the owner.
One of the best videos I have ever seen.
OMG. Beautiful video, beautiful car!
THAT SOUND! what a great guy, car, and video. thank you
love the car, love the production work, camera and editing, A+++
The sound of an old and big inline six with a carburetor though... Nothing makes such a raw sound these days :)
Great sounding, and fantastic to look at! What a car...
"Smaller cars, develop better drivers."- Jason Len
Inspirational Quote right there.
Another awesome installment. Keep it up guys!
I've seen this E-Type at a historic festival - awesome!
That's a badass Jag. Really love the rear fender flares and just the general stance and it's got the speed to back up the looks. Great video too. Clair De Lune and the beautiful lines of the car contrasting with the growling motor.
what a slick car and a clean driver, I like how this was shot too. very well done.
Always loved the E Type Jag, such a cool car, total respect!
Another beatiful car,thank you!
damn! your cinematography is astounding. Better and better every time. Love the variety of cars too. Great great great.
Gotta love the Big Cat. Another Magic Review in the Superb Petrolicious Series.
Bautiful, beautiful car and video. Thanks.
You guys make the best and most interesting videos on TH-cam, thank you
Gorgeous car and nicely done video
I`ve never, ever, drove a reliable Jaguar with an original engine. On the other side, I think it is one of the most beautiful cars, in the world!
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing.
Art and film together with gorgeous cars fab....
I didn't think much of the hard top's until now. Lovely car. Great guy.
Awesome video ! As always ....
Opening with Clair de lune is so brilliant. Got my like before the video had even really begun.
Big fan of the channel. Keep the vids coming.
great choice of car for this weeks video!
Beautiful car. Lovely video, thanks!
Beautiful car love it that engine sound
I've watched this so many times. Brilliant.
Great piece of art
i like that he has concentrated on this one car for years and has nearly perfected it.
awesome build, driving it how it should be driven. Another stellar video :)
I could have sworn I ran by an article in which Enzo Ferrari himself said the E-Type was the beautiful car ever made.
Alfas. Enzo is famous for claiming that Alfa Romeo made the most beautiful cars ever made.
Someone said that "this is the best channel on youtube" and agree with that
Small bore cars make you drive better, never a truer word spoken
many great racers started with formula VW and formula Ford. I like your humility and hope you keep racing for many years to come.
Love the choice of music on the intro.
Debussy, '"Clair de Lune"
These videos are great! True art
A true artist with passion...
Thanks...
You never disappoint Petrolicious :)!!
Beautiful machine!
A spine tingling, truly awesome car... What I would give to drive a few laps of a track in that! The sound is incredible as well!
all These videos are so good i forget everything after i watch them.... sadly i forget to like them as well
what a great piece! thanks so much!
Great great artistic video!
the music....the car....the engine noise..brings tears
Is there an "I Love It" button somewhere here? What an awesome act of Love to build such a beautiful car as this. I've always loved the E-types. I could see myself driving something like this (though I have this dream of building a Triumph TR4A with an Olds 215/ Rover 3,5 liter aluminum V8!).
Back in the late Fifties/early Sixties, my Dad raced a 1953 Jag 120K coupe (in Fire Engine Red)...that had an Oldsmobile Rocket 88 303c.i. V8 in it (they called it the "Oldsuar"). FAST! STUPID fast (for the day).
and the e-type beat them, wow. Great driver
What a magnificent car this is,what a droped jaws beauty!!!!
Love your chanel. Very great stories of owners of these beautiful cars and bikes. Greets from germany. I hope you'll find more beautiful bmw's.
Just brilliant!
What's not to love about this vid...great car..cool production values...accomplished owner/driver/engineer!
That thing is just NASTY! The looks, the sound, the speed! She's glorious!
Suite Bergamasque is my favorite Claude Débussy arrangement
Beautifully moving video.
and amazing sound too.
Congrats on the Win
this guy is living my dream...could there be anything better?
breathtaking
Petro guys, I hope you know that you make art!
such an awesome machine!
The E Type has to be one of the most gorgeous cars ever built....
Beautiful!
