I tried bow, duel bow and even prostration before fight, but it seems that Alonne just does not react on them, maybe I did something wrong, I dont know. However unique death animation is real and he shows it only if you defeat him without taking a single hit.

adradox its funny cuz thats actually what the fight is kind of about. This fight is the memory of the old iron king coming to defeat sir alonne for leaving him at the peak of his power. Sir alonne taught him and all his soldiers how to fight. So it is, the pupil, surpassing the master.

My favorite boss fight. Sir Alonne is just too cool.
I was fighting the dancer of the boreal valley when I realised how much more I like fights like these. Boss encouters like Sir Alonne and Artorias is what I feel Dark Souls should be.

Man I was wondering,what is your build,and is that berserker blade? If so why don't you use chaos blade instead?
Chaos blade is not worthy of using in long fights, there is not so much damage difference. Yeah it's berserker blade, I use it primarly because it got highest damage after chaos blade and 150 counter damage, most of my hits against Alonne here was counter hits.
Yeah I know that,did you stopped leveling? Or you're still leveling at NG+8?

Ballisticshotz9 it was 12th walkthrough and I pvped a lot, so I were pretty high at this point, around 600 level.

Oh man! Talk about "git gud"! This guy one shots me in Journey 3. I can't do it with my slow ass knight but it's the only thing that even helps keep the damage away!
Timings, it's all about timings.
I can dodge any other humanoid boss like crazy! It's just this b*tch! After that triple hitter, his stupidly agile mega-backstep gets me every time. Good thing dlc isn't a requirement, lol!

SonOfMael I screwed up on that build. I figured I'd tank my guy up to a full 99 health but I completely ignored the stamina and weight capacity. I have a greatsword that gets a max of 2 swings before having to save some stamina for a roll. I can't hold a shield because if I do I go over 70%. The rest of my points went into faith and attunement for the great heal. I haven't played the game in a while though so I'm not worried about it like that. Thanks for the tip man!
DeathclawAlphaMale Because I hate magic, I would say to simply lose all attunement and faith and pour those into stamina and weight, and maybe a little into Adaptability to make rolls better. Who says tanks have to be slow? With that kind of build your damage might not be the best, but you'll be able to take hits for days!

how do you do that much damages ? Im on ng+4 99 str, with scaling S weapons, the same two buffs you use and I hit at 450 max ... (tried slash and strike dmg). I even respe to put 99 in dex and is the same weapon as yours.
Am i missing something ? Are you sure you are in Ng+ something ?

It's called counter damage. You can notcie that when I hit with non-counter it does about 400-500 less damage.
Yes I were using brightbug, but even with brightbug you won't achieve such damage without counter bonus.
Max ADP? makes things easier, but good job, nonetheless
+Steve HK Ng It would not make much difference if you just drop your equipement load + simpleton ring makes it even easier to dodge, plenty of ways to do the same without stat boost.
This fight is enjoyable and annoying....Overall, he is a rather easy boss to dodge, except his thrust/buff attack. Even if i roll past his blade, his shoulder damages me, and it sucks me into the grab animation... WTF? if i hit the shoulder, i would expect him to stagger me, not skewer me... dem hitboxes....
Also, this fight felt a lot like Pursuer... which isnt a bad thing! I really liked these 2 bosses, except pursuer's grab attack didnt have bullshit hitboxes...
I never actually had a problem with dodging his thurst attack even with 90 AGI, you probably got very wrong timing on it or just carry to much weight on your character, most annoying ones was delayed downslash and attack he performs after jump attack fom time to time, first is hard to time and second is hard to predict.
adradox I probably roll too close to his body, that may be the problem. But still, it is his shoulder that clips me, yet i get sucked into the grab animation, when it doesn't make sense
Lol Is not hard with Max stat and SL ;) try without all stat at 99
If I were abusing max stat, I would've just hyper one shot him, like Ray Dmitri does in his videos, though I handicapped myself purposely :) Yet I never claimed to be a super pro, I just did a video of fight I enjoyed and put plenty of time to take this guy down in a way I wanted to.
