John the Baptist was preparing the way for YHWH. In all four Gospels. He was preparing the way for the ministry of Jesus Christ. No ambiguity on the meaning here.

On the Day of Pentecost, the Apostle Peter referred to Jesus as “Lord”. IN what sense did Peter use this term - “Lord”. Acts 2v36 “God has made this Jesus both Lord and Christ”. At what point in time did God “make Jesus both Lord and Christ”? At the resurection? OR before? Even during His earthly life Peter acknowledged Jesus as “the Christ, the Son of the Living God”. Therefore Jesus was “Christ” prior to His resurrection. The Apostle Peter also proclaimed Jesus as “Christ and Lord” in conjunction with the Old Testament Scripture “The Lord said to my Lord” (Gk Kyrios said to my kyrios. Heb YHWH said to my adonai). By quoting this OT Scripture in parellel with his statment, Peter is saying that Jesus is “the Lord” to whom David was referring as “adonai” in Psalm 110v1. This “adonai” was exalted by YHWH to YHWH’s right hand. It is interesting to read the rest of Psalm 110 and see what other things David says about his “Adonai”. “Arrayed in holy majesty from the womb of the dawn” v3.; this phraseology indicates, to me at least, that David perceived “Adonai” to be more than a mere teacher or human master or lord. IN using Psalm 110v1 in reference to Jesus as “both Lord and Christ” ... the Apostle Peter would have been fully aware of the implications of his statement. What I am attemting to show is that when the first Christians declared “Jesus is Lord” ; they knew exactly what they were saying. On a 1-10 scale (1 being “lord’ = teacher; 10 being “Lord” = YHWH), I would suggest they were very close to 10 when they said “Jesus is Lord”. There was no or little evolotion of their understanding over decades as you suggest. The Apostle Paul in his greetings in his letters, makes it perfectly clear that he distinguisges between ther LORD God (YHWH) and the Lord Messiah, (Jesus). Indeed, one is the God of the other. ( 2 Cor 1 :3; Eph 1 :3). Paul always sends greetings from the two Lords. They are two distinct Lords/ beings. It is simply incorrect to suggest that Paul or the Churches he founded or wrote to believed that Jesus was 'Lord' in the sense that he was YHWH. I don't agree with you, saying that Jesus was not God and Messiah, before His resurrection. Jesus and his Father are both ONE God's 2 persons (Son & Father). The Holy Spirit (see Acts 2) is the 3rd person in the same One God. (Trinity). So, I think your words are not true! True believers can't be fooled & confused by you. On the Day of Pentecost, the Apostle Peter referred to Jesus as “Lord”. IN what sense did Peter use this term - “Lord”. Acts 2v36 “God has made this Jesus both Lord and Christ”. At what point in time did God “make Jesus both Lord and Christ”? At the resurection? OR before? Even during His earthly life Peter acknowledged Jesus as “the Christ, the Son of the Living God”. Therefore Jesus was “Christ” prior to His resurrection. The Apostle Peter also proclaimed Jesus as “Christ and Lord” in conjunction with the Old Testament Scripture “The Lord said to my Lord” (Gk Kyrios said to my kyrios. Heb YHWH said to my adonai). By quoting this OT Scripture in parellel with his statment, Peter is saying that Jesus is “the Lord” to whom David was referring as “adonai” in Psalm 110v1. This “adonai” was exalted by YHWH to YHWH’s right hand. It is interesting to read the rest of Psalm 110 and see what other things David says about his “Adonai”. “Arrayed in holy majesty from the womb of the dawn” v3.; this phraseology indicates, to me at least, that David perceived “Adonai” to be more than a mere teacher or human master or lord. IN using Psalm 110v1 in reference to Jesus as “both Lord and Christ” ... the Apostle Peter would have been fully aware of the implications of his statement. What I am attemting to show is that when the first Christians declared “Jesus is Lord” ; they knew exactly what they were saying. On a 1-10 scale (1 being “lord’ = teacher; 10 being “Lord” = YHWH), I would suggest they were very close to 10 when they said “Jesus is Lord”. There was no or little evolotion of their understanding over decades as you suggest. Rather, from the very Day of Pentecost -- the early Christians believed that Jesus Christ was Divine in Nature and Origin .... that He was “Adonai” in the fullest sense of the word.

The Apostle Paul in his greetings in his letters, makes it perfectly clear that he distinguisges between ther LORD God (YHWH) and the Lord Messiah, (Jesus). Indeed, one is the God of the other. ( 2 Cor 1 :3; Eph 1 :3). Paul always sends greetings from the two Lords. They are two distinct Lords/ beings. I don't agree with you, saying that Jesus was not God and Messiah, before His resurrection. Jesus and his Father are both ONE God's 2 persons (Son & Father). The Holy Spirit (see Acts 2) is the 3rd person in the same One God. (Trinity).
So, I think your words are not true! True believers can't be fooled & confused by you. Only the uninformed weak Christians, who have not learnt the truths about Jesus can be confused.

Shiro Boo this is such a weak argument. The believe, because that is what it is a believe based on nothing, that the orginal people knew and understood for 100% the idea that was played out before there eyes. Is just not true. I mean geniuses like Darwin, Einstein, Tesla, Nietzsche you name it. Couldn’t scratch the surface of, what they believed, there idea’s and what they meant, in there lifetime. 400 hundred years isn’t so strange and it isn’t even complete I think after 2000 years mind you.
