Hi Paul, I had a couple of suggestions for future content I would love to see (hope that doesn't sound selfish & arrogant)
    1. The crusades and how many times christianity was spread by forced conversion
    2. A summary of the bible... What is what, eg. What does acts mean, gallations? How is the Bible structured etc.
Often while I'm listening to your vids I feel that extra context would help me understand even more deeply.

I like the New Testament because it shows itself very pragmatic and humans rather than Old one, which was based on rituals and law. Jesus became a person who represented this reforms. Wekl done my friend. I like your short commentaries on the Bible.

People need an internal answer to the great question life presents us with to be able to get on with their life, so become willing to accept whatever is easiest for themselves to adopt.
Most people are happy to just work to get the rewards of this world without even wanting to consider there is a life after this one.
The whole purpose of being alive to to recognise its has validity that all life matters to the greater Being who created this universe then withdrew placing a curtain between us and Him.
We can know this because the Prophets explained it so.
They are the ones we should use to verify what is being hidden, if a person or group claims something outside what the know Prophets taught, especially in fundimental principles, why would anyone blindly accept it

What you and the author of the "Rethinking Christianity" seem to be overlooking is that A) the movement from a Jewish sect to an international religion was not just the work of St. Paul but, rather, that of the Hellenized Jewish-Christians living in the Diaspora (of which Paul was one). We see this B) because of Luke/Acts (authored by Luke) which tells the story of how the Hellenistic Jewish-Christians prevailed in understanding the meaning of Jesus Christ's death and resurrection.
However, it is not only embedded in Luke/Acts, Mark 7 is a powerhouse blow against the more Torah-centered Hebraic-Christian approach. Mark 7 contains this amazing statement:
Mark 7: 17-19 After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable. 18 “Are you so dull?” he asked. “Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? 19 For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)

James H. Baxter, Professor of Ecclesiastical History at St.Andrews University says in Christianity in the Light of Modern Knowledge:“If Paganism had been destroyed, it was less through annihilation than through absorption. Almost all that was pagan was carried over to survive under a Christian name...local pagan statues were labelled with Jesus’ name, transferring him to the cult and mythology associated with the pagan deity.
Arthur Findlay in Rock of Truth made the point that: “Itwas not until the year 527 C.E. that it was decided when Jesus was born, and various monks equipped with astrological learning were called in to decide this important point. Ultimately, the Emperor decided that the 25th of December, the date of birth for the pagan Roman god, Mithra, be accepted as the date of birth for Jesus. Up to 680 C.E. no thought had been given to the symbol of Jesus crucified on the cross and prior to that date veneration was accorded to the Mithraic symbol of the lamb. From this time onwards it was ordained that in place of the lamb the figure of a man attached to the cross should be substituted.
In Robertson’s Pagan Christs we read that Mithra was believed to be a great mediator between man and God. His birth took place in a cave on December 25th. He was born of a virgin and he travelled far and wide and had twelve disciples (that represent the twelve zodiacal signs). He died in the service of humanity, he was buried but rose again from his tomb and his resurrection was celebrated with great rejoicing. His great festivals were the Winter Solsticeand the Equinox (Christmas and Easter?). He was called the saviour and sometimes figured as a lamb and people initiated themselves into this cult through baptism and sacramental feasts were held in his remembrance.Mithraism was a religion of “salvation.

    Salam waalaykum brother Paul
From what I’ve observed christians especially seem to bring up the point of how “Allah” is a different god more importantly different to the Christian and/or Jewish god. If this issue isn’t firmly resolved and carrying on addressing Trinity, Tawheed, Jihad or textual reliability becomes not relevant in their eyes. They see the god of Islam as an other. Hence every conversation had is in vain. A theological judo of someone who believes in a different god.
If you can address in a blog I think it would be of immense importance.

Christianity was born out of an idea by Roman emperor named Constantine, he and the pope of the time came up with this idea to combine all the pagan believers in the western hemisphere and spreading Christianity and its own version of faith, however that idea proved strong at the time but now every one knows that there are many many denominations in Christian faith, this means that Christian faith people disagreed between themselves and broke away and printed out their own version of bible's, just made up like to suit themselves but nothing is more truer than the holy Quran, and its never been changed ever since it was revealed to prophet Mohammed pbu some 1450 yrs ago,it's ink might be fresh but the holy words are the same..and it is God given faith backed up by Allah swt when he revealed that he has perfected the religion called Islam and will be a monotheistic faith, that's if you know what monotheism means...Allah huackbar...

Well done again dear fellow - another wonderful scholarly summary of an important topic. One small thought though: I was struck by your suggestion that the story of the Good Samaritan was someway divinely inspired. I would have no problem with your suggestion in the past but having listened to how a Jewish Rabbi analysed the story I am inclined to wonder whether the story was in someway changed or was meant as an attempt to attack the Jews as hypocrites. The Jewish Rabbi's analysis might not be too far off the mark when we remember that the Gospels do represent the Jewish authorities as hypocrites. Could the story have simply been part of a wider literary device to demonstrate that the Jews were no longer worthy of their covenant with God and a time for a new people to join a new covenant [New Testament]. As such, if the Rabbi's analysis is correct then, at least from a Jewish perspective, the story of the Good Samaritan is sadly appealing to anti-Semitic tropes such as being miserly. This is just another perspective for your information.

I can summarise quite effectively what Christianity is.
I believe what the Son of God has said about the Father. I believe Him when he says he is One with the Father. I believe that the Son is the intercessor for Man and God.
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: that ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.”

If we were to ask a random Christian off the street:“What was the religion of Jesus?”They would unhesitantly respond:“Christianity.”If we were then to ask:“Did Jesus him self ever use this word?Didhe ever call his religion‘Christianity’or call his followers‘Christians’?”If this Christian knows his Bible,he will say,“No.”“
So,”we would continue,“once again, what was his religion?”If this Christian knows his Bible he will now respond“Judaism.”“That’s right!,”we would affirm,“Jesus was a Jew!He followed the religion of Moses”
“According to your Bible,Jesus lived and died never having violated a single aspect of the true Jewish religion. He fasted when they fasted. He prayed as they prayed.Heobserved the Sabbath as the Jews did.He never in his life tasted pork.He was circumcised like all faithful Jews, and he repeatedly ordered his followers to keep the commandments of the God‘till heaven and earth pass’(Matthew5:17-18).”
So Jesus (pbuh) was a Jew!He followed the religion of Moses (pbuh).

Moses was of the tribe of Levy (Levites) and could not and can NOT be called a Jew. Also, nor can Abraham, Isaac, or Jacob be labeled as Jews. Only those DESCENDED of Judah (Jew'da) can rightfully be called Jews.

    Islam The Beautiful Religion
    ( Be Just )
    Quran 5:8
'' O you who believe! stand out firmly for God, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the > HATRED OF OTHERS TO YOU < make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to piety: and fear God. For God is well-acquainted with all that ye do. ''
    Quran 4:58
'' Indeed, God commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice. Excellent is that which God instructs you. Indeed, God is ever Hearing and Seeing.''
    ( God's The Rules Of War )
    Quran 2:190
'' Fight in the way of God > THOSE WHO FIGHT YOU < but do not transgress. Indeed. God does not like transgressors. ''
    Quran 2 :193
'' And fight them on until there is no more oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in God; but if they cease, Let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression. ''
    Quran 4:90
''.........So if they withdraw from you and cease their hostility and offer you peace, in that case Allah has not granted you permission to fight against them.''
    Quran 8:61
''And if they seek peace, then you also seek it, and put your trust in God. He is the Hearer, the Knowledgeable.''
( Stand Up For Justice )
    Quran 4 :135
'' Ye who believe! stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to God, even as against > YOURSELVES < or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for God can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest ye swerve, and if ye distort (justice) or decline to do justice, verily God is well-acquainted with all that ye do.''
( Who Are The Good Human Beings? )
    Quran 2.177
'' Righteousness is "NOT" that you turn your faces ( In Worship ) toward the east or the west but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in God, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth,> IN SPITE OF LOVE FOR IT,< to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for > freeing slaves < [and who] establishes prayer and gives charity; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous. ''
( Freedom To Believe And To Reject )
    Quran 2:256
'' Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth stands out clear from error ''
    Quran 10:99
'' And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed > all of them entirely < Then would you compel the people in order that they become believers? ''
( Tolerance For Other Religions )
    Quran 109: 1- 6
    Say,"O disbelievers,
I do not worship what you worship.
Nor are you worshipers of what I worship.
Nor will I be a worshiper of what you worship.
Nor will you be worshipers of what I worship.
For you is your religion, and for me is my religion."
( Protection for Idol Worshiper )
    Quran 9:6
"And if any one of the polytheists seeks your protection, then grant him protection so that he may hear the words of Allah. Then deliver him to his place of safety. That is because they are people who do not know. "
    Quran16:125
“Call people to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good teaching, and argue with them in the most courteous way”
    Quran7:199 “Be tolerant....”
( Friendship With Non Muslims )
    Quran 60:8
'' God does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, God loves those who act justly. ''
( Do Christians And Jews and "OTHER" non-Muslims go to Heaven? )
    Quran 2:62
    '' Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,-> ANY { On Judgement Day }
( According to the Quran Christians and Jews worship TRUE God )
    (Quran 3:113-114)
'' Not all of them are alike: Of the People of the Book ( Christians and Jews ) are a portion that stand (For the right): They rehearse the Signs of God all night long, and they prostrate themselves in adoration. They believe in God and the Last Day; they enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong; and they hasten (in emulation) in (all) good works: They are in the ranks of the righteous.''
Note: According to the Quran that Jesus is not God nevertheless Christians still worship one '' TRUE '' God.
( > Allah < Is The Protector Of Monasteries, Churches, Synagogues And The Mosques )
    Quran 22:40
[They are] those who have been evicted from their homes without right - only because they say, "Our Lord is Allah ." And were it not that Allah checks the people, some by means of others, there would have been demolished monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which the name of Allah is much mentioned. And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.
( Why Are There So Many Different Religions In The World ? )
    Quran 5 48
''...... If God wanted He could have made all of you a > single nation < But He willed otherwise in order to test you in what He has given you;(scriptures) therefore try to excel one another in good deeds. Ultimately you all shall return to God; then He will show you the truth of those matters in which you > DISPUTE submission < to God), never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter He will be in the ranks of those who have lost (Salvation)''
    My explanation of above verse
Islam mean > submission < to God
( The above verse saying is that God will not accept a religion from the > MUSLIM < and the Non-Muslims but total > submission < to God.)
Question: How Can Muslim And the Non-Muslim > submit < to the God?
Answer: Be kind to other human beings and Do not lie, Do not steal, Do not cheat, Do not hurt others, Do not be prideful and Do the charity work.
( God Allow Muslims To Marry And Eat Food From the Christian And Jew And Vice Versa )
    Quran 5;5
''This day [all] good foods have been made lawful, and the food of those who were given the Scripture ( Christian and Jew) is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them. And [lawful in marriage are] chaste women from among the believers and chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture ( Christian and Jew) before you, when you have given them their due compensation, desiring chastity, not unlawful sexual intercourse or taking [secret] lovers. And whoever denies the faith - his work has become worthless, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.''
    ( Kindness Toward Atheists / > APOSTATE < )
    Quran 60:8
'' As for such [ of the unbelievers ( atheist) ] as do not fight against you on account of [your] faith, and neither drive you forth from your homelands, > Allah < does not forbid you to show them > kindness < and to behave towards them with full equity: for, verily, Allah loves those who act equitably. ''
( All The Terrorists / Killers Will Enter Hell Fire )
    Quran 5:32
"......Whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely......"
( Turned Your Enemies Into Your Best Friends )
    Quran 41:34
"The good deed and the evil deed are not alike. Repel the evil deed with one which is better, then lo! he, between whom and thee there was enmity (will become) as though he was a bosom friend."
( The Husband and The Wife Are > Protecting Friends < One Of Another )
    Quran 9:71
''And the believers, men and women, are > Protecting Friends < one of another; they enjoin the right and forbid the wrong, and they establish worship and they pay the poor-due, and they obey God and His messenger. As for these, God will have mercy on them. Lo! God is Mighty, Wise.''
    Quran16:97
“To whoever, male or female, does good deeds and has faith, We shall give a good life and reward them according to the best of their actions.
    Quran 30:21
    “And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you > affection and mercy { Love }
The Prophet Muhammad said, “The best among you is the best to his wife”
( Human Are One family )
    Quran 49:13
" O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of God is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And God has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things)."
( All The Racist People Will Enter Hellfire )
    Quran 30:22
"And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colors. Indeed in that are signs for those of knowledge."
    My comment:
The > BASIC < message of God to the human is that '' YOU '' believe in God and be kind to other human beings / > animals < and in the > RETURNED < God will > REWARD < you with a new life in Paradise.
    * The Quran ONLY guides you how to become a good human being "Nothing Else".
    * You are a good human being or a bad human being that is YOUR choice.
    * No one can force you to become a good human being.
    * You MUST work HARD to become a good human being.
    * Why should ''YOU'' do good deeds and avoid bad deeds?
    * Do Good - it's for You. Do Bad - It's against you.
    * '' YOUR'' life is a TEST from God that you will choose to do either Good or Bad.
    * Find the excuse to help others and forgive others NOT the other way around.
    * '' YOUR '' final destination is either Hell or Heaven.
    * So work HARD toward choice of YOUR destination.
    Quran 17:7
'' If you do good, you will do so for your own good. And if you do evil, it will be to your own loss.''

Jesus was a Jew, his disciples were Jews, and his audience was Jewish. As a Jew speaking to Jews, Jesus upheld the Torah - though He rejected many of the Jewish ‘traditions’ not found in the Torah. Jesus did not instruct the Roman centurion to be circumcised or follow the Torah (Matt. 8v5-13). Neither did he instruct the Syro-Phenician woman to follow the Torah (Mk 7v24-30). Jesus Christ commended them both for their faith - making no reference to the Law. The Apostle Paul also taught that Gentile Christians were to pursue moral excellence; that professed faith in Christ was to,be accompanied and demonstrated by a God-fearing and morally upright life; that anyone who professed to be a ‘brother’ but continued to live a morally-deficient life was to be warned, then expelled from the church ( e.g. 1 Cor.5v9-13).

Christianity is based on the deity and teachings of Jesus. Paul of NT just elaborated this.
Christianity produced great men and women like David Livingston, Wilberforce, John Bosco, Dominic Savio, Florence Nightingale, Mother Theresa, and many like these who put their faith even now in the deity of Christ. Read their biographies
"Love thy neighbor" is something alien in Nations where Shias, Sunnis, Yazadis, Christians, Hindus live as minorities. They are driven or being crushed to the core. This is the plain truth. These immigrants can find peace and prosperity only in the West which has been largely shaped by teachings of Christ.
Even among the prophets Christ is the greatest.
" Abu Hamid al-Ghazali (d. 1111), the most celebrated Muslim theologian in history, on two occasions gave the confession in a form that both Muslims and Christians can accept by substituting the name of Jesus for Muhammad in the confession of faith"
