@@pixussb7524 the N64 stick didn't have drift issues, at least it wasn't very common. The main issue was the durability. Let's hope the plastic parts are of higher quality this time at least. Looks like it comes with grease applied which is a good thing.

I found that 'Celeste' is a game that works very well with the N64 controller. As it's a game with fully rebindable inputs. Because you can rebind the inputs on the right stick, and overlap inputs. You can rebind the C-buttons in that game to make Madeline dash in a specific direction.
Glad to know you can remap from within smash ultimate. I grew up with smash 64 I never had a GameCube so every other version I’ve always tried to map the controls to match the n64 controller. This will be perfect.
I've been using my childhood N64 controller to play BotW and TPHD just fine. BotW took some figuring out, but I got it working. TPHD is pretty much perfect and maps perfectly to OoT's control scheme.

Technically the rumble pack's already 'included' with the controller since it has rumble built in! So although one can't be plugged in, you can at least still have the functionality.
Had my two controllers arrive today and been using one of them for Ocarina tonight, feels a lot better with it than Joy-cons unsurprisingly. But thanks to no AA batteries for the Rumble Pak, a lot lot lighter than the original!
@@Awnos not at all. It’s a lot of noise over very little. The same happened with Skyward Sword HD, and Amiibos, and now this. It’s the online minority being loud again basically. 95% of gamers will just pick it up and enjoy it.

I recommend following Nintendo of America on Twitter and have their post notifications turned on. That’s how I’ve ordered one both times they were in stock
So it might be manageable, if they add the ability to remap buttons (or the individual game lets you). I’d like to play it with other games, but it seems the lack of 2 face buttons makes it compatible with fewer games than the SNES controller with 4 face buttons but missing a 2nd stick. Plus the layout makes it awkward to access the L button and D-pad (no idea why they didn’t add ZL as well if they added ZR).
I thought about getting it since N64 games just don't feel right with the switch joycons or pro controller, but 50 bucks is kinda steep haha. I'll probably get it next month though, it looks pretty good !
Another problem with the N64 controller is that it doesn't have minus, X, and Y buttons. So when playing some games, like Super Mario Odyssey for example, not only you cannot open the map screen, but you can't throw Cappy around. Also when playing Sonic Mania, you won't have controls for Debug mode, or Super Transformation. You might struggle in some games, so if you want to handle the N64 controller, it's your decision.
Oh damn, the back slot is filled in? It would've been nice to have a hole there, just so I could stick the original add-ons into it for fun. It would've been a bonus if they made the slot functional too but I know that's asking too much for a £50 wireless controller
Gamecube controller is popular for Smash because Melee was successful and was the newest game for 7 years, then the Wii had Gamecube ports so almost all the competitive players used it in Brawl. So by Smash 4 people had been using Gamecube controllers in Smash for 13 years.the
DOOM (Classic) is impossible: The ZR button is the trigger/shoot, so it may be awkward to fire your weapons. You cannot change the controls, so yeah it's not worth using.
Considering that Final Fantasy VII was actually going to be on the Nintendo 64 at first. Switch to Playstation because cartridges were just way too expensive compared to CDs. Imagine how many cartridges would be needed to play FFVII on an N64
I actually opted to get the retro bit tribute 64 third party controller on Amazon. Not only is it cheaper but it seems to have a better feature set and better thumb stick than what Nintendo is actually offering. I suggest people at least look it up. As an added bonus it comes in atomic 💜!!!

Does it work with Mario 64 in 3D All Stars? Like, does it feel like it did in the day? I love that they added Gamecube controller support for Sunshine so if they did the same for 64 (even though I don't plan on getting the N64 Controller) that would be great.
Love the Controller, but iam Disappointed it does’nt work fully on Mario 64 in 3D all Stars, Both A & B Buttons are the Jump, with No punch/Kick as its mapped to X on the Pro Controller or Joy Cons. Hopefully they update the either the Game or the Controller to be re-mapped. Feels Premium and Exactly like an Original N64 Controller, also No minus Button is a bit of an oversight also.

It's a bona fide GameCube controller. It's compatible with any GameCube, almost any Wii, and any Switch (up to a point). I believe I played Metroid Prime with it.

One note on BotW: you can still jump if you set X to Sprint in the options, but you can't Sprint and Jump at the same time.

Well some of the games actually lets you remap the controls withing the game's Control Settings. Breath of the Wild is one of them

The thing I've learnt from this is that the new one cannot tug.
Another problem with the N64 controller is that it doesn't have minus, X, and Y buttons.

I hate tap-jump, if it's on I can't up tilt or up smash without jumping and then landing before.
