    Too many innocent animals get caught in the nets and mostly die unless divers see it and help the animals.

    I feel like the nets could be put closer to shore, In more shallow areas where people swim. Easier to reach and relocate anything tangled up.

      How about not tangling up anything that is just living in its own habitat.

      @@enekaitzteixeira70I0 if you’ve ever swam in the ocean once, you’re contradicting your-self 😂. Yeah removing the nets would be the best possible thing. But if a shark attacks you it’s your own fault, not the beaches that tried to prevent it.

      @@jace4910 "if you’ve ever swam in the ocean once, you’re contradicting your-self" --> How so? I'd only be contradicting myself if I was a net. However you might be shocked to know I'm actually a human being. How am I tangling up anything by the mere act of swimming in the ocean?
      Of course I'm not blaming the beaches for sharks attacks, I'm blaming them for the deaths of not only hundreds of sharks (although that would be bad enough in itself), but also for the death of many other marine animals, like turtles, whales or other fishes.
      Sharks bites are so rare and unlikely that only a few simple security meassures, such as "don't swim alone or at dawn" and a cople of medical units near the area would perfectly do the trick. This issue is being greatly over exaggerated.

    Have you ever understood how a shark will go into a frenzy? They have these electromagnetic glands on their nose that can perceive the frequency of blood in the water. Now when you understand that when blood hits the water, it has a frequency you can understand how a shark could go into a frenzy, and you could understand the frequency. You can understand an alternate frequency that would put the shark into a state of shock. If you could have the proper electromagnetic frequency emanating on your shoreline with a proper voltage and amperage emanating at a adequate frequency, you could have a shark net there was electric and keep the sharks off of the shoreline and your citizens, safe, essentially without the need of shark nets or killing sea life,. what do you think? Imagine how many lives you would save and how much money you could make and how people could actually feel comfortable with going in the ocean again and actually care about it because if the ocean dies you know we’re done as well.

  • @benjaminshanafelt2087

    The fundamental flaw here is framing the sharks as the bad guys. If more effort was put into informing beach goers and the public about shark behavior and human behavior to avoid, incidents with sharks will be less frequent. The bottom line is sharks aren't going out of their way to munch on people. Typically these so called "attacks" are triggered by people being perceived as threats to the shark by being too close or even stepping on the shark.

    • @hobomike6935
      @hobomike6935 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shark attacks are rare enough to make the nets pretty unnecessary, especially since they're killing game fish, sun fish, and protected species such as sea turtles.
      But claiming that sharks are "being framed as the bad guys" is laughable. they did *that* to themselves, they're exceptionally vicious and should be shot or harpooned-on-sight.
      because I guarantee they'll show _you_ no mercy once the positions are switched.

    • @TheHolyCheese75
      @TheHolyCheese75 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@hobomike6935 if sharks are the bad guys then humans are psychotic tormentors. You have absolutely 0 clue what you are talking about. We kill over 100 million sharks per year. "Sharks did that to themselves." Is the most laughable thing I have ever read. You say it like it's a choice they've made. They act off instinct. They are marine animals vital to marine ecosystems. They eat what they are supposed to eat. It is humans casuing utter destruction to marine life. Weak humans like yourself are always trying to blame everything else. Sharks are just trying to survive, in an everlasting battle against the brutality of humanity. People are weak minded and scared because of media manipulation.

    1:05 I can't imagine why the aim of sharknets would be to catch and kill sharks! seems so pointless - like there are millions of sharks out there what would catching and killing a few that happen to get stuck in it do? I always though that the aim obviously is to act as a barrier and a flaw is that they get trapped and killed bc the nets are poorly thought through like I'm even astounded that they don't actually touch the ground, aren't going to shore and are so far away from the beaches lol
    I was just looking for barriers near my area in Perth as there was a recent attack on a girl nearby that ended tragically -- but perth doesn't have "shark-nets" but "Eco barriers" which are not just rope or saggy netting but rigid polymer which bigger openings -- they don't go far out to sea at all, they touch the floor and extend all the way to shore. More over there have not been any marine life that gets trapped and infact actually acts as sort of reef structure for marine plants to grow and and supports more reef life with fish and some octopuses taking shelter there ...

    Only if humans avoid going to deep waters, these inocent animals woudn't have lost their lives. The fence that is built inside the water may be advantageous for humans, but what about the dark side of the boundary where there is suffering and chaos among the aquatic animals ?

    • @Jay22222
      @Jay22222 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The whole point of this clip is that the nets are flawed and ineffective and that they are infact NOT advantageous to humans. Not only that, they're actually a disadvantage to people by attracting sharks.
