AFAIK, sharks don’t usually go all in when they first encounter a foreign object in the water these days. After years of encountering inedible objects in their habitat, they’ve started biting things with less force to feel them out first. This may be the case here. If the shark knew it was an animal that’s typically in its diet, it probably wouldn’t be so “gentle” with it. I know it is meant to resemble a penguin, but who is to say it wasn’t smart enough to know the difference?

No. There's no reward for the shark so if the shark's learning anything here, it's to NOT bite anything falling into the water. Many animals - dogs being a good example - learn by association, so "what happens when I do this?" If it's good, I'll do it again. If it's bad, I'm probably dead. If nothing, then it's a waste of energy.
People need to stop portraying sharks as bloodthirsty monsters. They’re not dangerous to humans at all. People should be more scared to go to sleep at night because they might fall off of their bed.
@@spaceshipdms They only kill three people per year. That means every year you have less than a one in one billion chance to be killed by a shark. You should be more afraid of your dog. @@uransylejmani7387 “you seem like a casual with little knowledge about sharks.” Im a biologist. What I said is true. Sharks only kill on average 3 people per year. If you see a shark in the water, it is less likely to attack you than a dog you would see on the land. They aren’t aggressive towards humans. Most shark attacks are sharks mistaking people for other animals. If sharks really were aggressive towards people, much more people would be dying. But they aren’t, and that’s why such a small amount of people die from them. You also have to consider the fact that the vast majority of people who die from sharks are only bit once. Once the shark realizes that they’re not what it normally eats, it looses interest. Most people who die from shark bites actually die from infection. Either way, that shouldn’t even really matter, because such a small amount of people get bit per year. If you’re in the ocean, you should be much more scared of getting sucked out into the ocean by a rip current, or jellyfish.
Sharks dont really hurt humans, they are very curious creatures and will investigate if they decite you are interesting enough, but they wont attack for the sake of attacking
More people die of 4th of july fireworks than from sharks. Sharks arent dangerous, stop the fearmongering. Most sharks are critically endangered and portraying them as dangerous killers even tho they very much arent doesnt help that.
How is it abuse? The decoy won't hurt the shark. Researchers do use real meat to attract the sharks. The shark wasn't captured or injured in any way. Finding out how it bites and causes damage can save a human life some day.
Very sensationalist "documentary" here. BITE. THRUST. JAWS. TEETH. SERRATED. HUGE. And nothing we haven't read or seen in other documentaries before. I think Nat Geo can do better.
What is the purpose of this research.. does it benefit sharks in any way? They'd rather spend their resources protecting from humans cutting off their back fins and leave them sinking to the bottom of the ocean dying a horrible death 😥

Shark eye has side shutters wow
Might be a stretch…but their teeth may be why their bite is so deadly. Idk though.

I don't think so. It seems like she bit as hard as she usually did when she attack a seal
