As such, you're entire premise shows what in incompetent joker you are. My "67goldtops" refers to the paint job on my Camaro. So hey, thanks for playing. What's that saying about assumption? It's the mother of all fuckups? Yeah, I'm fairly sure that rings a bell. But please, do continue with your "brightest candle on the cake bit." Meanwhile why don't you brush up on the difference between YOUR and YOU'RE when you've finished your oh-so original one-liners. No wonder you're a Blackmore fan. LED ZEPPELIN>THE ONLY ROCK BAND HAS THE BIGGEST AUDIENCE EVER TO ATTEND IN A SINGLE CONCERT LIVE @ 02 ARENA IN LONDON IN 2007 FOR OVER A MILLION FANS WORLDWIDE!!!
Deep Purple Focused more on Loudness & the instrumental part with Blackmore & Cos Muscial Brilliance helping in making the great music&melodies , the lyrics didnt matter ,sometimes you dont even notice them at all , you just focus on the Great, hard & loud Melodies they play Led Zeppelin focused more on the vocals&lyrics (they had plant, the best vocalist ever ) with the music helping the lyrics to shine I Prefer Deep Purple , But both bands are Different & the best Rock bands Ever
Blackmore couldn't touch Page's guitar arrangements. Please, Purple fans, direct me to the Blackmore compositions with rhythm parts that compare to what Page laid down in the Wanton Song, Ten Years Gone, Achilles's Last Stand, Good Times Bad Times, etc. Oh, my bad. There are no such compositions.
"Most people cn play it better than he does lmao" Let's say that's true? SO WHAT? "most" people didn't CREATE it, did they? See, here's what I know...I judge a player based on what he can create with a guitar in his hands. I'm quite sure all these "anybodys" that can play Page stuff didn't create the brilliance that is Zeppelin's catalog. But here, try this. You post a video of YOU playing Page's live 12 string parts that he lays down in the live version of "The Song Remains The Same." I'll be waiting.
Samuele Tola, For me the whole "skill" thing gets quite silly. That's because technique for technique's sake is meaningless. First of all, one must consider Page at his 1973 peak as a player. Whatever habit ruined him as a live player after that is irrelevant. The simple fact is that post 1973, Page's abilities as a player declined rapidly. However, that Blackmore was a cleaner, faster picker doesn't mean much. There will always be players pushing technique. It's like olympic sprinting. There will always be records broken. Yet I'm generally not the guy who values technique over individual stylization, ideas and originally. Blackmore was more proficient at performing the hand manipulations necessary to play guitar. SO WHAT? Does that trump the imagination and ability Page had to translate what he heard in his head via his instrument? Blackmore's technique trumped Page's, just like countless players since Blackmore have rendered his technique sophomoric. NONE of them had the imagination to come up with parts like Page. Put a guitar in both their hands. I'll take Page every time.
67: Am pretty sure Blackmore himself has described Page's guitar structures as more advanced than his, and Page has said Blackmore's better at guitar solos. Song Remains the Same is the perfect summation of the difference between the two guys' playing. Blackmore wouldn't have come up with anything on Houses of the Holy, and Page wouldn't play anything like Light in the Black's classical passages. And I think both of them would agree that Moore, Schenker and Van Halen took things up another notch.
Bullshit 67golftops. Classical guitarists and music schools AL over the world rate Blackmore above Page consistently. Pagey appeared to be a creative genius until people had a closer look. He plaguarised black artists from the 1930's, 40's and 1950's. Blackmore did also but not so obviously . . . AND . . . and he also "borrowed" from Brams, etc. Blackmore can play a traditional blues guitar solos and then throw in some mind blowing classic guitar pieces. Pink Floyd's David Gilmour said that anyone who can do that is on another level.
Led zep..it's nothing compares to Deep Purple..Ian Paice..Ian Gillan..Ritchie Blackmore ..roger Glover..so much better than Led Zepp musicians..Deep Purple is live band...led zep is studio band..led zep music so soft.slow..not to much many variations like DP..from classic..go to blues..enter to jazz..like lazy..and heavy rock like burn or child in time.. Led zep don't play with orchestra also... led Zeppelin only popular than DP..but the quality of zep music is easy to be beaten by the loudest band in the world..if there is competition rock band in this Galaxy..DP will be the chosen one to defend this planet that we call Earth and live..not led Zeppelin beatles rolling Stones or queen..maybe queen better than Led zep also..haha..but they still can't beat DP lol
Led Zeppelin is what a rock and roll band should be they have been in more genres and they are far better than queen I don't hear people saying more about deep purple but zep music is still being played around but I love deep purple And sorry deep purple quality not beating zep
@dplzgb101 yea ya know I went back and listened to the DP catalogue a little more-its been a while. I like Zeppelin better but I will give you the fact that Blackmore is a better lead player. I think Jimmy was a little more intricate with the song arraingments and in his chordal vocabulary. Blackmore was a LOT cleaner lead player however-Page was just sloppy in most of his leads.
Even they made the most played rock song of all times, they certainly didn't make the most recognizable rock song of all times, that's what I meant anyway...
This is just fucking crap. If you make a documantary about the most important two bands from the rock scene you should speak about them equally. Not just praising one over and over and barely mention the other one. This is just disrespect and shows once more what an underrated band Deep Purple is. It's a fucking shame and a big thumb down for the people that continue to lie in their ignorance.

@@johnalessi1835 Sadly Plant did wreck the range of his voice on tour with long 3 hour performances, sometimes twice a day but, he has a subtlety and feeling when he wants as well as the loud rock voice. I don't think Gillan shares that.
@@johnalessi1835 I've listened to Gillan more since my last comment, and I agree he can sing with feeling, but somehow, for me, he doesn't allow vulnerability to show as much as Plant. Both good voices. At the end of the day it comes down to personal preferences which singer a person prefers or relates to more. Plant had a good range in the early years of Led Zep but it reduced after his nodal problems and operation. LZ also did ridiculously long concerts which strained his voice, but it's good that we have both studio versions and live ones that preserve the journey of his vocal performances.
Uriah Heep, Grand Funk, Lynard Skynard. Atomic rooster. ECT ECT. 1968 to 1979 I was 14 to 25. Prog Rock was my life blood. Nowadays I even listen to Andy Williams and Dolly Parton.(most stuff However when I have the house to myself on goes the Vinyl or CD. If only I had the time to listen to it all.
Led Zeppelin would have to be in the top 5 of best bands ever. The Beatles are the #1 best band of all time. The Rolling Stones would have to be in the top 5 of best bands, too. Led Zeppelin would have to be the next best band. The Led Zeppelin song "Stairway To Heaven" would have to be in a top 5 of best songs along with Beatles and Rolling Stones songs.
Chris . . . in reference to "common sense" regarding songs., common bias is not common sense. The solos Blackmore does on the live version of Child In Time are beyond brilliant. Gillan's vocal range puts Plant to shame and the lyrics strike a chord with the youth of the day. Child In Time is a cleverly written song with politics and the futility of the Left and Right at its heart. In first hearing people write it off as banal . . . but its cleverly written. The story of what happened in the studio in regards to Child In Time is Deep Purple legend. Blackmore only had 19 minutes to come up with a solo as they had run out of expensive studio time. Blackmore did it in 14 minutes and on playback thought his solo as lame. That is why he put so much effort in the live version of Child In Time. Guitarists like Kirk Hammett and Dave Navarro claim there is no way that they could come up with a solo that good in 15 minutes. ALBUM SALES - Zeppelin clearly outsold Purple in the United States. No one knows why the Deep Purple - Mark II and III albums would not sell in the US, but bizarrely the first incarnation of Deep Purple with Rod Evans sold well. In a prelude to the 1974 California Jam concert it is announced that Deep Purple had sold an equal amount of records to Led Zeppelin with 33 million units a piece. Purple were HUGE in England, Europe, Japan and Australasia. Deep Purple beat Zeppelin to the 50 million mark with the release of the albums Burn and Stormbringer. Blackmore's departure from Deep Purple was announced in early 1975 and there was a rush on Deep Purple albums, especially Machine Head and Burn. It is really hard to find sales stats on Deep Purple BUT I worked with a lady whose father was in the industry in the Seventies. He was English and confirmed what I have written. Zeppelin outsold Purple but Purple was way, way bigger in Europe and elsewhere until 1975. Deep Purple disbanded in April 1976, one full year after Blackmore left. POSTSCRIPT - You can find this on the internet. There is a 1976 article on Ritchie Blackmore titled "the man who sold 14 million albums." Blackmore left Deep Purple and formed Rainbow in 1975. It is reported that the albums Burn, Stormbringer and Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow sold 14 million certified units. As Deep Purple and Rainbow were two separate commercial entities, these sales could not be added to Deep Purple.
plz man, sales prove shit. led Zeppelin were a great band, but they were more people`s band than were deep purple which were treated like a virtuoso band and they were one. both great band with different twist
DP outsold anyone in USA in 1973. thats a fact, so they did have a succes in USA. outloved and popular? maybe in USA. underground band? ok, lol. Have u listned made in japan?

joelombrdo yeah but Blackmore said that page was so visionary with his muisic
Both Jimmy Page and Ritchie Blackmore respect each other. I have read many Blackmore interviews and have NEVER heard Ritchie put down Jimmy Page or Led Zeppelin.
In songwriting, still Blackmore stand taller than Paige.
LED ZEPPELIN>THE ONLY ROCK BAND HAS THE BIGGEST AUDIENCE EVER TO ATTEND IN A SINGLE CONCERT LIVE @ 02 ARENA IN LONDON IN 2007 FOR OVER A MILLION FANS WORLDWIDE!!!
Deep Purple Focused more on Loudness & the instrumental part with Blackmore & Cos Muscial Brilliance helping in making the great music&melodies , the lyrics didnt matter ,sometimes you dont even notice them at all , you just focus on the Great, hard & loud Melodies they play
Led Zeppelin focused more on the vocals&lyrics (they had plant, the best vocalist ever ) with the music helping the lyrics to shine
I Prefer Deep Purple , But both bands are Different & the best Rock bands Ever
I still prefer Ian Gillian's lines than Robert Plant...
@@levivolaju883* Gillan's. Plant was a better lyricist and as a vocalist he could do subtlety and feeling as well as loud rock vocals.
@Sauron012 I didn't know it was legal to think Led Zeppelin is overrated. Really haha
Oh, my bad. There are no such compositions.
lol your fucking funny .. anyone can play page stuff .. in fact most people can play it better than he does lmao
"Most people cn play it better than he does lmao"
Let's say that's true?
Budgie is pretty underrated in the 70s.
Abdullah 1960 i love Budgie, King Crimson and Jethro Tull! ❤
Bearded guy says it, is that a Geordie? 0:35
Certain music needs to be heard loud. J.S. BACH Fuge D-Mall on church organs for instance. Have you been to a Bach concert?
Unfortunaletty I didn't live when J.S. Bach did concerts.
... and what afternoon was that then? Did you oversleep on that dream?
Deep purple is good but I need some wisky n ciggrate to enjoy with dazed n confuse
Not PIECE, but Paice, not JOHN LORD, but Jon Lord and not idiot, but man with different taste.
born in 1993 - fuckkkkkk!!!
Led Zeppelin is what a rock and roll band should be they have been in more genres and they are far better than queen I don't hear people saying more about deep purple but zep music is still being played around but I love deep purple
And sorry deep purple quality not beating zep
@dplzgb101 yea ya know I went back and listened to the DP catalogue a little more-its been a while. I like Zeppelin better but I will give you the fact that Blackmore is a better lead player. I think Jimmy was a little more intricate with the song arraingments and in his chordal vocabulary. Blackmore was a LOT cleaner lead player however-Page was just sloppy in most of his leads.
Even they made the most played rock song of all times, they certainly didn't make the most recognizable rock song of all times, that's what I meant anyway...
And not Gilan but Gillan...you missed that error.
what was the first Led Zeppelin song? at 1:51
How Many More Times
This is just fucking crap. If you make a documantary about the most important two bands from the rock scene you should speak about them equally. Not just praising one over and over and barely mention the other one. This is just disrespect and shows once more what an underrated band Deep Purple is. It's a fucking shame and a big thumb down for the people that continue to lie in their ignorance.
Zeppelin never released a single?what about whole lotta love?

The better bass player is glover/ guitar is pretty much a tie and both paice and bonham were the best but oviasly bonham was better
Victoria
JPJ is definitely a better bass player

What the shit is it?
Led Zeppelin would have to be in the top 5 of best bands ever. The Beatles are the #1 best band of all time. The Rolling Stones would have to be in the top 5 of best bands, too. Led Zeppelin would have to be the next best band.
The Led Zeppelin song "Stairway To Heaven" would have to be in a top 5 of best songs along with Beatles and Rolling Stones songs.
Led Zeppelin is 4 original members...but purple always change line up..what the fuck is that...what is happen to purple??
Blackmore,nuff said.
To bad stair way to heaven was stolen by Led Zeppelin so was dazed and confused and many more, they are considered the greatest cover band ever.
Scott Swift
Not true
Scott Swift 🙄🙄
One "child in time" is better than whole lz discography
hahahahahaha. lol.
Uh, the record sales and common sense proves you wrong. Or insane.
Chris . . . in reference to "common sense" regarding songs., common bias is not common sense.
Deep Purple in the 1970's ...Killed Led Zeppelin Live....
It's not just about loudness and noise though, well some of it is, but there was more to Led Zep too.
