This song represents the ethics of quantum communications adapted to our terms at the point of time of creation of that song. Your mission if you choose to accept it is to make your own, any involvement will be denied, the message will self destruct at the proper time to let you exit the room while waiting for sufficient resources to meet acceptable requirements, at that point any outcome is enough… 3:47

I discovered Deep Purple when I was in 7th grade. That was 43 years ago. Jeez I'm old. Still love this band though. Turned my 16 year old son on to this band. His friends don't get it. Their loss. ✌️🦋

I don't know about everyone but I grew up in this Era, listening to the greatest rock music ever made the bands were on such a roll with music, the albums, the tours all of it was so so good. I feel blessed to have experienced it all. I'm 62 years old and still can't get enough of it. Rock music of the 60s and 70s will live in my heart forever!!!
53 and I love the fact I was 8 when the king died and found out from my dad he had a really old 78 collection of shit like Elvis 78 release of thats all right and slim Whitman so from 77-81 I started listening to all fifties artists then just before he died I got into the beatles and then just before he died in 81 a friend had the diary album and that's all it took to get a 12-14old into everything from nugent Cooper cream Jimi zep sabbath yes purple rainbow to motley ozzy wasp tallica megadeth maiden u2 and then came the nineties which was kinda dull musical time except of course for the two woodstocks but still had aic soundgarden white zombie Manson maybe but after that stopped listening to much if the new scenes after the nineties but since I have TH-cam alot of good music is being made and the older vands as well as the new are really come out with some kick ass jams thinking the next ten years will definitely be ODE TO ROCK
At 52 I ruminate daily on thoughts that I have either died and moved onto some sort of purgatory, or I am an amnesiac alien visitor from a land that resembles this place but a world with a soul. This foreign land here seems like a land with out the soul. The parallel universe and quantum explanation also helps me with my anxiousness that I may be just dealing with schizophrenia
One of the BEST comeback albums ever. All killer, no filler!. Too bad they never made another that was even half as good. Oh well, they're still one of the greatest rock bands of all time!
When this was new I heard it part way through song on radio. For longest time thought it was a Zeppelin song. When got satellite radio it had song and band display then eventually it was played! Was not a fan of the big hit of theirs.
Love the video of all the members of the band together laughing and playing around . The energy was probably out of this world and u can't replace that. Amazing song and the length of the songs in that era are awesome.
I remember buying this cassette when it came out back when I was a kid. Dude at the store read me the riot act because this album wasn't for "the fans," it was for "the radio," and yada yada, blah blah. Still sounds pretty gottdamn good to me and a lot of other folks too!
It had been 9 years since DP had released an album. They must have known they nailed it with this epic comeback. That change at 2:25 of this powerhouse is riveting.

RIP John Lord . A great musician who gave a real feel of menace with his great play on this song and so many others like Highway Star. He will be missed but not forgotten.
One thing was Jon Lord's keyboards were as front and center as any guitar star. Really differentiated them from other bands where keyboards were more background.
Saw them on this Tour on August 15th, 1985 in the old Niagara Falls Convention Center! One of THE Greatest shows I've EVER seen, and I've seen so many of all the very best Bands of this time period & era! AWESOME SHOW!! 🎵🔥 💪 🎤🎸🎹🎹🎸🥁
I was intruded to hard rock at the age of 14 by a friend who found "In Rock" in his older brother's record collection. It blew me away, and changed my life forever. I was unbelievably excited to hear that the MkII lineup was reforming in 1983-84 and I was at Knebworth to see them in 1985. I saw them play a number more times at Wembley, the Brixton Academy in '93, and then Jones Beach in 2002, and three times on their farewell tour at Bristow, VA, Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA, and was pleased to be able to take my 11 year old daughter to the Atlanta show in 2018. ... But they were never the same after Ritchie left.
Бесподобны, фиолетовые ! Рвут мою РОКовую душу! Почти родные, за столько лет.. . И с юмором у них всё в порядке! Everything about this song speaks masterpiece. It's 2021. I remember hearing it on FM radio, when it first came out in 1984, and I was blown away by the sheer quality of the lyrics, Ian Gillian's singing, the sound and production, Jon's iconic keyboard intro, and the band's overall musicianship. Technically, sonically, and conceptually, this is a brilliant piece of music, and it is my favorite Deep Purple song of all time.

Without a doubt, my favorite DP song, ever! I'm 58, and I remember well the day this song hit the radio during my junior year in high school. I immediately bought the cassette from my local music store so I could crank it on the stereo of my 1955 Chevy 3600 affectionately called "The Crazy Train".
This incarnation of Blackmore was certainly not his strongest IMO. I never cared for Deep Purple. Rainbow with a young Ronnie James Dio and the later Joe Lynn Turner, especially Difficult to Cure surpassed this by far.

I am so amused by the comments saying Deep Purple and Blackmore were underrated or not recognized. They were one of the biggest bands in the world for years and mad a gazillion $$$. They were the epitome of 70’s British rock stars. I mean, it’s cool to imagine they are your own little cult band or something but “Live in Japan” was the biggest selling live album ever at the time it came out. Don’t worry, folks. They did very well for themselves.
Actually, world now really saw them underrated. Especially those who managing Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Some big name musicians gave them critics for not inducting Deep Purple for many years. How could Madonna recognized in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier, but they didn't even set their eyes to Deep Purple?
@@Николай-ч7б5ч В детстве мне не очень нравились их альбомы 80-х, предпочитал более ранние. И только наверное лет через двадцать понял, насколько это прекрасно

Ian Paice - what an incredibly underrated drummer. The fills and colour here are just a perfect accompaniment to a song that could have gotten stodgy with such a heavy bass line. Let's have a thumbs up for IP!
Absolutely, but I don't think that he's actually underrated, he's well respected by his peers, it's more like he's overlooked when people talk of great drummers, he's always been one of my favorites from early on
@@everydaylife1885 agree - its just a shame to see Peart, Moon, Bonham etc get all the kudos when IP is such a rock steady but also innovative drummer. it's like he's further back in the mix and thus more understated. But i get where you're coming from.
@@everydaylife1885 I remember working in a drum shop (as a guitar player) and we'd play DVDs in the background to entice newbies. On one of those DVDs was Paice doing a solo later in his career and the interviewer basically made your point of him being overlooked a bit. At some point, Paice said that he didn't even really consider himself a drummer, which I thought was odd considering how he seems so comfortable behind the instrument and can obviously play. I took it to mean that he does his thing, but might not be as versatile and capable to switch genres like you see other more schooled drummers do. Might also be that English modesty. Great drummer, but perhaps that's why he gets overlooked compared to a Ginger Baker or Peart or whoever else is really technical.

Ah, ah, all my life
I am the echo of your past
I am returning, the echo of a point in time
And distant faces shine
A thousand warriors I have known
Oh, and laughing as the spirits appear
All, all your life
Shadows of another day
If you hear me talking on the wind
You've got to understand
We must remain
Perfect strangers
I know I must remain inside this silent well of sorrow
A strand of silver hanging through the sky
Touching more than you see
The voice of ages in your mind
Oh, is aching with the dead of the night
Oh, precious life
Your tears are lost in falling rain
And if you hear me talking on the wind
You've got to understand
We must remain
Perfect strangers

This song represents the ethics of quantum communications adapted to our terms at the point of time of creation of that song. Your mission if you choose to accept it is to make your own, any involvement will be denied, the message will self destruct at the proper time to let you exit the room while waiting for sufficient resources to meet acceptable requirements, at that point any outcome is enough… 3:47

I discovered Deep Purple when I was in 7th grade. That was 43 years ago. Jeez I'm old. Still love this band though. Turned my 16 year old son on to this band. His friends don't get it. Their loss. ✌️🦋

They're teenagers, the brain takes time to develop. Hopefully they will catch on or you can turn them into Soylent Green or something similar.
Couldn't of not saided any better
I'm 68 and still crank it up to this song .

Yeah it would take 12 years before the next good album.
I was at the Texas Jam Cotton Bowl show in August 24 1985. One of the best concerts of my life. I was 14 years old and smoking hella weed.

I'm 58 and enjoying there music all my life...
They was .. along with other bands. That played musical notes for the mind

Everything about this song speaks masterpiece. It's 2021. As I flow through your life
A thousand oceans I have flown
And cold spirits of ice
All my life
I am the echo of your past
I am returning the echo of a point in time
Distant faces shine
A thousand warriors I have known
And laughing as the spirits appear
All your life
Shadows of another day
And if you hear me talking on the wind
You've got to understand
We must remain

I know I must remain inside this silent well of sorrow
A strand of silver hanging through the sky
Touching more than you see
The voice of ages in your mind

One of the most underrated songs/albums ever. Deep Purple pioneered, and wrote the book on, melodic hard-rock. There is no other.
@MisterG I can't think of any in that melodic hard rock style prior to Purple
this line up was one of the strongest in rock in roll history.
too bad Gillan and Ritchie didn't get along or maybe it would be..............
yup, i agree with that and when someone asks me for a hard rock song i'll tell the name of this one for sure
I love this line up too. but I also love when D.C. joined. listen to Mistreated and Soldier of Fortune which D.C. and Ritchie wrote together.
Mistreated is a fine song. some tasty stuff on Burn.

They did very well for themselves.

they don't know what they're saying!!!! tooooo young or toooo old ( people with Alzheimer or dementia)

Exactly and that's actually the perfect world, understated
I always liked his style ,smoothie in his prime.
