    I actually discovered you yesterday. Your very interesting to watch with a lot of interesting and valuable information on your garments. I just started my new project Seashore Stroll by JST Designs and I'm participating in her Kal on Ravelry that runs until August 6/23. This is my second time doing a Kal with her. I really like how Jen interacts with everyone. So, thank you for sharing and it was a treat knitting today while I was watching you.

    Hello Tash,love your podcasts and always look forward to the next one. You are great teacher love how you explain things. Hope to take one of your classes at Skein Sisters. I really like the burgundy colour so maybe a softer or a near neutral to blend together for that colour to come through.
    Anyway look forward to your next podcast 😊

      Thanks so much for your lovely comments Voula. I would love to have you in one of my classes. Thank you for the thoughts on the contrast colour for my Ingalls. I like the burgundy too. I just need to play around the the other colour to hold with it. Have to be prepared to try a few things. Hard when you just want to get knitting!

    The dress you are wearing looks fabulous the colours are great. The socks are great especially the blue. The new Ilha cast on looks great in the chosen colour. The Ranaculous is such a vibrant colour and the sweater from the vault is a great cable creation. I can't give you advice too tired to do so but go with your heart.

      Thanks Melissa. I always want to make everything all at once. Good thing i enjoy the process and like watching projects grow. So i am not in a rush to have anything finished - good thing when i usually have 4 or 5 WIPs. Everything takes longer when you split your attention. :)

    I LOVE your podcasts! I don’t have a ton of free time but your episodes are going to be a weekly must watch for me. I wish I was as productive as you are…I would so love you to do a musselburg video. I have been hoping someone would do one. I made one but it was way too big and way too short in length and I didn’t really know what I was doing. Brilliant idea to do different colours to get a 2 for 1 hat. The purple jumper is gorgeous perfect fit. As for your colour combo I think you should do a bit more of a swatch to see. Glad to hear your dad is doing better❤

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  ปีที่แล้ว

      What a lovely compliment Michelle.Thank you so much! I will definitely do a Musselburgh video and focus on the measurements as this is the most important thing i learned from knitting so many of them. Thank you for the thoughts on a bit more of a swatch. I agree - I am trying to make a decision on a very small piece of fabric and that makes it a lot harder to tell what it will be like in the garment. Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave such kind and thoughtful comments. :)

    I agree with with the color affinity and phases. For me, I prefer brighter colors than neutral but not loud. I say you use the colors that will create a FO you'll reach for time and again.
    My so loves bright colors in his house socks. You should see the pair I'm knitting him now 😂

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a good thought Joyce - it needs to be a combination that i will want to reach for to wear. I have made items where I think the colour is really pretty, but i dont love it on me or it doesnt go with anything else in my wardrobe and they just dont get worn much. I should keep those colours for house socks! ;)

    Fun and informative as always Tash. Love that you try things on so we get to see them in motion. Your dress turned out lovely. Colour swatches, it’s such a personal choice I’m sure you’ll land on the one you love.
    I’ve just started sewing again only to find my machine doesn’t want to play, buttonhole chewed my fabric and then tension and other things went wrong 😣 it’s going to take about six weeks before someone can even look at it so it’s a bit frustrating. I have an industrial flat sewer and overlocker at work (no buttonholes!) so I’m going to do welted buttonholes which should be fun. Finally ready to sew, so I’m not going to stop now 🤭😬
    Love the jeans 💕 thanks for sharing, Karen

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Karen. Thanks for the lovely comments. I am going to keep swatching and i feel like i will know the right combo for Ingalls when i see it. I love the ones i have made previously and wear them all the time. So i want to get this one right.
      That's so annoying that your sewing machine is playing up when you have got your sewjo back. Would love to see what you make. I love your knitted projects on ravelry. I am inspired to make a camisole. Not the right time of year but that never stops me when i am inspired to make something....
      I love the look of visible mending on jeans. I dont love doing it so much. I think i have to have an audiobook or something while i do it. Or be hanging out with a friend crafting together. I got inspired to do it when on a sewing retreat called Camp Stitch in 2019. I would love to go on another retreat or two this year. Everything stopped after Covid. I think things are starting up again but i need to do a bit of investigating to see what is doable for me at the moment.
      Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment. :)

      You are a star! I like the pink more too. It'm still not quite sure - i might need to do a bit more of a swatch and maybe try a couple more fingering weight yarns under the mohair. I'll get there. Looking forward to seeing you. x

    I am loving watching your podcast Tash. You've got me abandoning the blankets I'm crocheting and back kniting. One Musselburgh done, second on the needles and past the increases. I'd love to hear more about your numbers on your Musselburghs. I'd be interested to try another yarn with your dark red mohair that has the right colour value even a grey (red grey not blue grey). I'd love to see Bec's beautiful face on your podcast. 😊

      Thanks so much Leeanne. I'd love to see your Musselburghs. I'll definitely do a Musselburgh "What i learned" video. I couldnt help myself and cast on another one with the blue Madelinetosh Euro sock. For the Ingalls, I like the idea of holding a grey with the blackcurrant mohair. One that gives the right amount of contrast. Definitely going to do some swatching on Tuesday. :)

      Hi Adrienne. I did a video on the cast on for the hat. th-cam.com/video/cS5iIhaligY/w-d-xo.html It is a paid for pattern so i have to be a bit careful about not giving too much away but I can do another with a bit more instructions - but not too much so as to basically give the pattern in the video. I hope you will share your progress on instagram in the KAL. #mostlyknittingyoutubeKAL :)

    so glad to hear that your father is doing better and it is nice to hear more about you, your family...🌺🌸 I never knit socks yet but would like to make a first pair of house socks for my mother for the upcoming winter, she is always cold, and she wants likes socks to be very loose on her ankles...do you think this pattern you are mentioning is ok for my first ever sock? I am thinking about toe up as it feels better to handle the fit (not sure if that is true but in my mind it feels easier) love the Beatnik! I am doing my first ever cable project, a classic gilet for my dad, in cashmere. 🌺🌸

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  ปีที่แล้ว

      The DK sock pattern is a good pattern but it is a bit of a recipe and that isnt always the easiest to follow if you have never knit a sock before. I might actually finish writing up the one i use for the class I teach at Skein Sisters and put it up as a free pattern on ravelry. I have been meaning to do that for a while now.
      Thanks for commenting on my family. I am not sure if you saw my reply on your other comment but my dad actually passed away at the end of April. His emphysema finally took hold and he just didnt have any lung capacity left. He was ready to go but it was very hard for me and the family. I know i will see him again one day in heaven so although i miss him terribly, I know it is just a good bye for now. x

    Hi Tash, I just want to say, blue is a great color on you! Perhaps the Madelinetosh Euro Sock in Chill Pill not as much as other blues that you've shown. But blue brightens up your eyes, hair and skin all at once! More so than the pinks and purples... which to you is bad news I guess? Anyway, don't mind me, I just couldn't keep quiet when I heard you say that blue's not really a great color on you... Love your podcast!

    I too have used that pattern/chart from Wendy Johnson for my socks. But I’ve done mine in fingering weight. Anyone know of a source to get the numbers for the “recipe” in DK weight. A friend just asked for a pair of house socks.

      This is the pattern I used and I found it worked well for any weight of yarn.
