    Nice demo, Greg.
    My old Twin unit still works but it sat on a shelf collecting dust for a few years and that affected the rotary controls badly. Keep it clean, folks.

    I bought a VOX classic rock 2 days ago, it is a fantastic piece of kit to practice silently but have a nearly full on amp in your headset and it only cost me £38 🤘
    I spent £50 previously on a bluetooth amp plug in to a cheap bluetooth wireless headset and the 0.5/1 second delay way was horrendous!!
    i didnt know about this product at the time and wasted my money..but i redeemed my self by buying a VOX ,playing silent, no lag as headset plugged directly into it and absolutely love it! and so does the wife 🤣

    Great video and beautiful guitar. I was going to buy the same guitar a few months ago but cheaped out and got the Fender Player SSH in Plus top aged cherry burst and love it. I will be buying the Vox AmPlug 2 blues version. Thanks for the video!

    let me suggest using the word inexpensive regarding price . And the word cheap regarding quality of build or materials.

    Absolute noob here, I want to buy an electric guitar and without a speaker/amplifier/anything. I just want to carry my guitar everywhere in the guitar bag and plug it into a headphone for playing. Will this device make it possible?

  • @DirtyBlues8
    @DirtyBlues8 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Sorry for the silly question but can this also be used without using headphones? I like the idea of being able to do both. Headphones & without.

      There is a mini-cab that you can plug them into. I have the old one, it's not good, but the new one looks like an upgrade and it costs about the same as the amp.

  • @marigner
    @marigner ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Cool explained; but its true, they are really noisy; shouldn't cost more than 15-20 Eur though, the look cheap. What I don't like, that you never see your settings, and you can't save them.

    Which one would you prefer?
    For more clean, funk and John Mayer style playing? of those two?
    thanks in advance. =)

    • @gregsguitargear6936
      @gregsguitargear6936  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would probably go with the Clean one. It won't go into a lot of distortion (especially with single coils), but you can get a very nice, warm overdrive and there are two different clean tones available. The Blues adds some low end on all three channels, which I guess makes it less than perfect for funk.

      @@gregsguitargear6936 Thanks very much. Also for the review. Most reviews are just for the AC30 version. Helped me a lot. =)

    i found this thing adds annoying noise to the audio. is it normal?

  • @jelly5459
    @jelly5459 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is there any difference between the clean and AC30 version? If so what are they? Does it just make them sound different?

    • @gregsguitargear6936
      @gregsguitargear6936  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The only difference is the AC30 has all 3 channels sounding like the AC30 and you can add some tremolo by going through the channels. The built in effects and general functionality are all the same. I think the drive goes a bit further than the red channel on Clean, and the tremolo is a nice addition, so that's a great one if you specifically like the AC30 sound.

    Do they work without headphones

    • @gregsguitargear6936
      @gregsguitargear6936  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They don't have a speaker built in, if that's what you're asking. Vox sell a 'dedicated' AmPlug Cabinet (voxamps.com/product/amplug-2-cabinet/) or you can use any other speaker that has an aux in.

    • @ThisIsDavesGarage

      I plug it into my bluetooth speakers and it sounds great.

  • @francema1

    @Greg´s Guitar Gear could you please let me know if you are plugin a sound interface to the headset output jack on the AmPlug? Have you tried to use that output to connect it to a PC to record the guitar?

    • @gregsguitargear6936
      @gregsguitargear6936  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I plugged the AmPlug headphone output straight into a PreSonus AudioBox. I've managed to cut out some of the noise that the AmPlug makes by lowering the input volume, but I still wouldn't recommend it for any serious recording.

      3.5mm audio cable with both male connectors on both ends, so you could connect it to your AUX input on your big amp, or you can use an adaptor to connect to your INPUT amp jack, just like you'd do with your guitar cable, no difference.

      They make a metal version. You can search “vox amplug will it chug” on TH-cam and there’s a good video that should answer your question
