It would be a good way to bring back some EU characters, while also giving a finality to the Inquisitors. So maybe Jarec would flaunt his power, but lose in a battle of tactics with the Rebels to show how he was overconfident in his own strength. Then Vader would come and "disband" the inquisitors entirely because they proved to be ineffective at killing jedi in recent years and weren't worth the risk of having one betray the Empire.
Legends Inquisitors felt more fearsome. They had personal ambitions, challenged Vader, and worked to get closer to the Emperor, or subsume him. It also made Vader and Palpatine feel cooler, that they were both able to handle these various threats, be they rebellious Moffs and Admirals, or over-ambitious Inquisitors, and come out on top. The modern ones, outside of Grand Inquisitor and Second Sister, are forgettable and disposable characters who don't really add much to the story outside of giving Nu-EU Jedi characters something to fight that isn't Vader or THE SENATE.
