    The skill trial did not require the padawan to master all lightsaber forms. That is something very few jedi ever accomplished. It was a series of situations that required the padawan to have a great understanding of the lightsaber, AND the force, to overcome. It wasn't a black belt test to see how many forms they could master lol.

    • @jodyhannah5931
      @jodyhannah5931 2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Yep. Very few Jedi mastered more than 2 or 3 forms. They were all trained in the basics of all forms though. Jar'Kai, for example, would only be mastered by a Jedi who used either dual sabers or a double bladed lightsaber. Typically only the battlemaster would have mastered all forms.

    Jedi Ranks aren't "power levels". They are WISDOM levels.
    Jedi Knights can be stronger than some Jedi Masters. But that doesn't mean they are as wise.
    For example, Jedi Knight Anakin was stronger than many members of the Jedi Council such as Jedi Master Eeth Koth. But Anakin was hot headed and impatient.
    Padawan Ahsoka is stronger than Jedi Master Jocasta Nu who ran the Jedi Archives. But she was still just a child.
    I could name several other examples, but remember that Jedi Ranks are based on Wisdom. Not necessarily power.

    • @chrisyanover1777

      Actually the whole Jedi order was supposed to be police as opposed to soldiers. They are tasked with being peacekeepers of the galaxy and traditionally were meant to be kept out of wars. When Jedi's decided to participate in wars it was always with great controversy ans usually half the order objected to it. They are supposedly task with just arresting people and maintaining the peace across the galaxy.

    • @5stargrim
      @5stargrim 2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      @@Crusader-tg1wx Actually, I doubt the bounty hunter’s guild would have a problem with it. They worked with quite a few different groups and would probably invite them into the fold. The Jedi, however, probably would not be okay with the it. They’re infamous for hunting down other force sensitive organizations, pretty much only those that matched the Jedi ideology perfectly were left around, like the sages of the kel-dor and priests of the ithorians. It was very rare for an organization of force sensitives to escape the jedi’s ego and cowardice.

    I've always been curious. Has any padawan or youngling invented a lightsaber form? How did each form start? Who created them? A master would need to master a form, but who taught them and at what stage of a jedis "career" were those forms created?

    • @InSanic13
      @InSanic13 2 ปีที่แล้ว +83

      Each of the seven lightsaber forms was developed at a different point in the Order's history. Form I was specifically adapted from sword techniques when they lightsaber was invented, and the rest followed from there. Instruction was handled by, well, lightsaber instructors, as mentioned in the video. Initiates learned the basics of Form I, while Padawans would choose the form they wanted to specialize in from there. There's not really a requirement to master a lightsaber form, though the Trial of Skill requires you to at least be fully proficient in one.

However, the Juyo variant of Form VII was created much earlier, and was predominately used by dark siders. Otherwise, the forms were used by both sides. As for material, _The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force_ has information on the forms, and is pretty cohesive for a single source. You might check out Jensaarai1's videos on lightsaber forms, where he talks a lot about the sum of information we have on each, some of the sources, and talks about his own interpretations of said information.

Would prefer to see things through and check on a lot of differing perspectives before either brokering a fair deal or two or striking down possible oppressors with the help of justified evidence and permission from some higher-ups and even the Force to do such a thing. White sabers are made using a Sith crystal (red) that has been purified with the light side of the force. Because Ahsoka is not a Lucas character Disney likely changed this to fit into their vision of how things should have been.

    I think they went WAY too deep with some of these specializations (Jedi Ace? LOL, alright…)

    • @ThePa1riot
      @ThePa1riot ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean . . . they kind of own Star Wars so ANYTHING in terms of Star Wars we get for the foreseeable future is "from Disney." Although I mean . . . the Mandalorian, Andor, Visions, Rebels it hasn't all been bad. I would love to see more of the Jedi Order though, especially their internal lives. They've always been my favorite part of the franchise.

    Some interesting ethical implications with some of these- would the Jedi who collaborate with police or governments accept injustice to maintain peace? If the options are slavery or war on a planet, what would they choose? And what are the ethical procedures of the Jedi who do generic experiments? Seems like messing with the force in such a way can have horrible and dangerous results.

    • @yaujj65
      @yaujj65 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Well the first question is answered, although I know 2 cases where the Jedi uphold the Republic injustice with the massacre of the True Mandalorian and subjugation of the Kaleesh.
      The Jedi are still good but they have become stagnated and follow the Republic even when they become corrupted.
      I think the problem is that the Republic and Jedi are too interconnected. I am not sure whether they are codependent

    • @ThePa1riot
      @ThePa1riot ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The thing is, a Jedi can only do so much. They’re just one person with maybe a padawan helping. If there’s some kind of grand scale injustice, they can’t just wave a hand or a lightsaber and magically fix everything.
      Consider Qui-gon on Tatooine. He can’t single handedly end slavery across the planet, at least not with the time he has, but he can help out where he can by freeing Anakin and trying to free his mother.
      As for the researchers, regular scientists have ethical guidelines as to what they’re allowed to do with experimentation methods, I don’t imagine the Jedi wouldn’t also.

  • @AndorRadnai

    I find the combination of Artisan and Investigator to be most fitting for myself.
    Designing starships to the highest possible standards. Crafts of artisanal quality, unparalleled in their beauty and effectiveness. And being able to fly them to their best potential, of course.
    Yet in times of necessity seeking out criminals and dark side cults in order to protect citizens of the galaxy, as well as seeking missing persons.
    These two combine the Sentinel school‘s teachings best fitting for me. Being connected to citizens, working with them as equals, but not hesitated to protect them.

      It's the same as the old one here in this video with some differences, a couple of differences I know is that force-sensitive individuals can join at any age instead of being taken very young like in the old days, love is encouraged between Jedis instead of being shunned due to fear of falling to darkness, love is a powerful emotion after all and lastly, they remove themselves from political galactic affairs, the new Jedi order is their own sovereignty in the galaxy and while they work alongside the galactic republic like the old Jedi order did to some degree, they don't take orders from them, not even from their new chancellor, under the leadership of Jedi grandmaster luke skywalker, the new Jedi order takes peacekeeping taskforce very seriously.

    If I where a Jedi night, my dream/fantasy would be to become a sentinel, but in my own way. I would want to mainly help outer rim- and other "backwater" worlds neglected by the republic that could be vulnerable to raids from either pirates or other hostile factions alike. Then perhaps acquire funding from relatively rich worlds to either reinvest it into the galactic market for greater returns for later, or invest right way into backwater worlds security so local industry could pop op, going behind the Jedi's back while doing so (because I don't know what they think about acquiring wealth, no matter the cause)

    I’d choose something with a combination of wisdom and knowledge seeking as well as mastering force and saber combat. The goal would to of course become a powerful and wise warrior with much honor. But the far larger goal would be to understand the force and afterlife and one’s purpose in life and live accordingly
