both of these cars are absolutely beautiful, I think if you can look past the grill they are the prettiest bmws ever made. seeing them in person too they only look better and the grill is not so bad.
I love that front grille it really adds the needed wow factor that makes people do a double take. I am a huge fan of it and think BMW executed it very well. They were not afraid of change.
The M240i reminds me of the old 2002 tii, which I owned when I lived in Germany. That was one sweet car! I drive a 2016 428i GC now and I think a M240i xDrive is in my future!
The 240I didn't have the performance tire package that surely would have helped. Did they test the Supra in the rain? There is no way either of these cars should be faster around the track than the Supra. Been trying to decide between a new Supra or 240i and every track comparison I've seen shows the Supra clearly faster. Only time the 240i is faster is in a drag race from the dig. The XDrive is crazy for hooking off the line.
Dude - The launch control on the M440i is not convoluted. At all. My Mustang GT, Challenger Scat Pack and Corvette C7 GS all had much more complication trying to use their launch mode. For my '21 M440i XDrive -> Sport Plus, TC off, mash brake, mash gas, off brake. I've done a 3.9 sec 0-60. On all seasons in 40 degree weather. And the kidneys are distinctive, new, unmistakeable and the new brand look. Does every one of your BMW review videos have to sound childish when mentioning the grill design?

The mojo was lost once factory turbochargers started infiltrating the entire car scene…it’s like why would anyone want to buy an M4 that’s $30k+ more than a M340i, when the M340i can be just as fast with a simple tune and downpipe??? The N/A E90/92 M3 was a lot better than the turbo 335i in its time, on every level. Now cars are just so fast that there’s no point to buy the higher models because they just don’t provide any significant different in speed, cornering, or braking capabilities. Prices and power figures of cars have ruined the “special” models for a lot of brands.

Wow, that was much closer than the 300lb difference would suggest. M240 also loses the mild hybrid boost which might cost it fractions in the power-on transitions? I have an M240 inbound and now questioning whether it’s worth the compromise.
it's the better drivers car, it feels more fun because it's lighter, that goes a long way so unless you need the extra room stay with your choice and enjoy :)
Have you gotten your 240. I’m about to have my local dealer order me one and I have a kid on the way but will 99% use her passport with the kid. Or him and me with no one in the front passenger. Spend the $6k for a 340i?
@@keystonerider1308 build was completed about 3 weeks ago….. outlook is early March to me in UK. This will be my wife’s daily and my toy. It will need to carry a 2 year old granddaughter once a week. My wife would find M340i a bit too big - but if you will be in/out the rear seats with a toddler often, it might be the better practical solution.
I hate the naming of BMW. M3, M4 and M5 But the lower version are M340i, M440i, M540i Kind of stupid because 340 sounds more than the 3 in M3. Even if you say it M3 40i. The 40i seems like an extra as if it's a better version. Also the numbers don't even have any meaning anymore since they're NOT 4L petrol. M550i isn't a 5L petrol..but that's what the name always used to refer to. So it's beyond stupid..BMW need to innovate a new naming system. Mercedes is a lot more consistent aswell as Audi. C220, E350 etc. Then the C43 AMG/C63 AMG and E53 AMG and E63 AMG. Audi A3, Audi S3, Audi RS3 - nice and sweet

It is a shame they don’t offer a LSD in the 240 as they apparently do in the M340i. I would drop the Xdrive and the additional weight and prefer the LSD set up off an M2 with the riding comfort of the M240i. I drove a 2WD 240i and it was quick to do one wheel peels because it had so much power and torque.
I think the bmw 4 is a big failure. As a result, sales were low, and promotions started when they were launched. The front design was not applied to other series and was partially applied to the SUV, but the headlamps and other designs were all changed.
So basically people can drive real cars or they can drive appliances. And the same folks who hate BMW designs, slobber over hideous and cheap looking Teslas.
Lol, I traded an M3 for a Tesla Model 3 awhile back and have no regrets. The maintenance of keeping an ///M car running right will eat you alive, not to mention the “fragility” if you really thrash it often. It gets to a point where you feel that miss in the idle or detect a sudden driveline sensation while revving towards redline so you back off and don’t use the car anywhere near 10/10ths anymore. With the “appliance” as you say, it’s max balls to the wall every moment, no weird noises or sensations, and repeatable every time. If BMW would finally come up with a good EV, I’d consider coming back, but until then…

I've had a m340i for 2.5yrs, incredible family of cars especially for a DD.
If this m240i had the pro pack with pilot sport 4s tires (245 up front) margin of win would've been greater.

Bmw has been back since 2013+..they are more reliable than the early 2000 and 90's models
The M340i has about the same weight and cost as the M240i but has more interior room than the M440i. And it has a normal grille. 👍
My fully loaded m240i was a little over 58k m340i is 70k fully loaded.

The darker paint blends the grill better (hides it). I still don’t like it, but it does look better with dark paint.
