I followed your original video and to the T and im extremely satisfied with the setup. The water i feel is sufficiently clean with that original setup. I might try this setup just for the heck of it because im obsessive like that. Anyway, thank you for that original video. The additional chiller for me has already paid it self in full by not buying ice all the time just to cold plunge. It knocks out that hassle and time constraint which makes the experience of cold plunging more of a hassle if you have a normal life routine. WIth this setup, you can simply shut off the pump which i did with a Amazon smart plug with with a simple command of “ alexa turn of cold plunge “ it shuts off the pump and i get in. When i get out, just command it back on and keep the water rolling. Or if you want to feel the water even more, do not shut it off because the constant water circulation is constantly breaking that thermal barrier that builds around you if you keep still. This has a more intense effect and 40 degree water really does feel like 40 degree water.

I love hearing this! This makes me so happy. When I built mine out I could not find a complete tutorial on a build out which seemed crazy to me. So I knew that I needed to share with the masses even if it only helped the few. I am so glad that it helped you. Love the idea of the Alexa plug setup. Going to add that right away!

Of the bottom of the filter. Where the hose is attached. Can you explain how you did that? Looks like it’s clamped?

you're going to need to give me the timestamp and then I can tell you what is going on there

By the way you want to filter your water and catch debris before it goes into your chiller or you could get something stuck in your chiller and then it’s broken. This is how pools work as well. Pump, then filter then cooling or heating element then back to the pool or cold plunge.

That is exactly how mine is set up. First stage is filter, then pump, then chiller. I have since added another filter and ozone generator (see my other video on this) and finally back into the barrel. Works like a charm!

Great video and suggestions. Question: Do you run the chiller and pump 24/7 or only so many hours a day?

Right now I run the chiller 24/7 and the ozone generator for about an hour a day. The chiller has to run 24/7 in order to maintain temperatures in the low 40's in my garage.

My understanding is that the water should be circulating 24/7 anyway to keep the water moving and clean. Stagnant water is a breeding ground for bacteria.

What pump are you using? And how is it able to work not bein inside the barrel? All of the other set ups have had the pump inside the barrel.
