What's up man. Big fan of your videos. I used your code and purchased your DIY kit for my ice barrel 500 and I'm really happy with it. Thanks for all the help. I'm currently building a deck for a barrel sauna I just had delivered. I'm gonna have both the sauna and the plunge set up side by side once it's completed. Super stoked. All I'm missing now is an outdoor shower and my setup will be complete. Where did you get your outdoor shower from? I would love a recommendation if you have one. Cheers.
Quick question, lets say, its 1:00pm, close to the hottest part of the day here in Florida, you get in for a 3-5min plunge and you warm the water up with your own body heat. Is the penguin blanket and chiller strong enough to chill the water back to target temperature in a decent timely manner, or is the chiller just going to maintian that temp until the sun goes down and then finally bring it down to target temp? Im constantly having this issue with my setup. I set to 42, do my first plunge in the morning, it warms up to 44, (still set to 42 btw) then come late afternoon is reading 48, i get in again for another 5-6 min and its warmed up to 52+ until sunset when it starts bringing the temps down. Currently using a drop stitch tub and buckling lid, 1800gph pump with 1/2hp active aqua chiller
Hi David, thank you for all the great videos that you make very helpful. My question actually has to do with the Sweat tent. I love it. First of all. I do have a concern only had it for about two months now and I am getting a considerable amount of rust already on the rock box and the stove. I reached out to Sweat tent to ask them about this as I thought stainless steel was not supposed to rust. They told me try not to get water on it, but that’s pretty much impossible. Seeing how the rock box 1st of all is not watertight. Just wondering if you had any suggestions on this or how to treat the rust on the stove? I look forward to your help in this matter thank you. Have a great day. God bless. Jim
Love the videos! Just bought the 1HP kit from Amazon but could it came with the 1" inch water filter and looks like the Ice Barrel Conversion kit is 3/4". Is there another piece I need to buy to convert?
this one can get to 39 and it took over night to reach my set temp, if you leave it on (which i recommend) it should keep your 400 within 5 degrees of the set temp in the mid day
Just bought this set up from your links. Everything was available on prime except the pump was not able to ship for like 3-4 weeks. I went with the 1/4 hp chiller and a different Danner in-line (or submersible) pump that is 1200 GPH. Do you think that will work ok with the setup or will that pump "overpower" the chiller?
Does anyone know where to get parts for the Active Aqua AACH25 (1/4hp) chiller? It is the older white box model. Mine was bought used and says it was manufactured in 2012. I think they discontinued them in 2014. My up arrow on the unit isn't working, so the setpoint is able to be lowered but I can't ever raise it. I have it set up on an inkbird thermometer now to turn it off and on but I am not sure that is good for the chiller to hard stop it all the time. I am trying to find a new display board for the unit. Hydrofarm who manufactures these doesn't carry the spare parts and didn't have any suggestions on where to get any. Any help is appreciated to a fellow newbie plunger!!

How water resistant is the chiller? I notice a bunch of water spilled over on it.
It’s totally fine. I leave mine outside 24/7 in the Florida weather. Never had any issues
You should do an energy consumption yo temperature test on the chillers using that same barrel as a control.
do you still recommend submersible pumps over inline in DIY builds?
Both are great and both are a little different. It depends on what’s you’re most comfortable with.
Where's the link for the mats? Love your videos!
in the kit link Thank you :)
@@DavidMausJr I dont see the mats in your kits
What square footprint does this setup occupy ?
about 4 feet by 3 feet
Without the penguin wrap, would the 1/4 HP Chiller keep up with the Texas heat on the ice barrel 400?
Where did you get that wooden shower in the back ground

The pump is sold out thanks David. Would the active aqua pump work with this exact set up?😂
Haha yes. I’m sorry. My kits do sell out fast it’s crazy.
What is the lowest temp and How long does that take to get to it on that set up you have especially in the sun like that

Does the 1/4 hp chiller keep the temp of the water in the 40’s? I am in NY and need to get a chiller for the summers.

I would go away from the galvanized fittings because they will rust. Use brass instead.
Yea i have played with them all, they arent always available
@@DavidMausJr I’m a plumber and i see these things and point them out. Thanks for the video. It’s very helpful.
Carful what sups you recommend. That has cyanocobalamin in it watch some videos on that stuff and I think you’d stop recommending it lol
Been taking it for months and everyone I’ve shared it with loves it. Doesn’t mean it’s for everyone. I’ll take a deeper dive into that though 🤙🏽
