    Great job gentlemen, and nice work on the video. I enjoyed seeing your adventure in the Canyon and I hope you have many more. We started backpacking there with our 8yr old daughter, in 2008, and returned almost every year in late July/early Aug. In mid-Aug. 2015, age 16 she and I started running rim-to-rims there, to celebrate our birthdays, which are 1 day part. I was 53 for the first run there. We did it together 5 years in a row, and I continued doing them solo after that. In May 2020 her mom and I ran our first rim-to-river (down S. Kaibab, in to Phantom, and then run out via Bright Angel), and I've been doing that run in May, along with 1 or 2 R2R's, per year, ever since, shooting video for the channel occasionally. The 3 of us ran a rim-to-river together in Oct.'21, and my daughter joined me for another daddy-daughter R2R run, mid-Aug. '22. Love running in the Canyon and can't wait to return in '25.

      I would say no. However because it’s a free-standing tent it does hold shape without being staked into the ground. This allows you to move the tent around as needed

I also thought you'd pan round the inside, showing the pockets etc. and also the awning option, but overall a good video and I hope you will enjoy the tent. There are some great add ons for the interior that will make it even more useful

      I did it that high simply to avoid it being below my water line just in case of a leak. Certainly not necessary but I would do it the same way again if I built it again. Yes, that particular fitting was outrageous compared to all the other pieces of plastic. I looked on Amazon and all over the internet before just surrendering and purchasing it from US Plastics with the rest of the other fittings. I don't recall the price but I did purchase it in the fall of 2022.

    • @awakemyoutdoorsoul
      @awakemyoutdoorsoul ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for not replying sooner. When I set it up the way I have in the video I don’t bother clipping the footprint to anything because I have the fly clipped into the tent. If you stake the footprint out then it is secure under the tent. You can stick the end of the tent pole in the grommet on the footprint but it doesn’t hold it perfectly.

    • @emwes29
      @emwes29 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@awakemyoutdoorsoul stick the poles through both the fly and the footprint grommets, but clip the footprint directly to the tent outer, dont clip the fly to the outer when using the ground sheet (counter to this video). This not only provides a sturdier tent in the wind etc but allows you to set up or take down in the rain by doing the fly last after the tent outer is in place.

    lose anything red you stand out ! and for me living as an "urban camping enthusiast" I took some water based brown , green , and black spray paint and toned down the white it is a very good pack and holds 3-4 days of living I don't use both water bottles and switched to an actual bottle great pack however it requires constant tweaking (easy) enjoy it and treat it hard it won't let you down ✌️also what size is your pack

      I now have a couple hundred miles using mine and there’s a few mods I would like to make to it but overall it’s almost exactly what I look for in a pack that I can use for long day hikes or overnight camping. Mine is a size S/M, at least that’s what the tag has on it. Still loving mine a lot
