110 pounds of ice! and only a 6 degree change? At least the temperature stabilized for a few days

For what it's worth, that was a 6 degree change in a matter of about 10-15 minutes. Also, the water probably would have maintained for several more days but we had to move the Ice Barrel and had to drain the water. We're excited to get more data and info as spring and summer arrive here soon. It's still be an average temp of about 50 degrees during the day and mid 30s at night so the temp has been maintained easily over night. Anyways, thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!

The hassle of constantly buying and storing ice seems to be a big issue.

Definitely an issue, something that I've been struggling with this summer for sure. Especially today as temps where we are above 115 F. Hoping to create another video about using this during the summer months here soon!

I've seen some other videos where they recommend buying a separate freezer and freezing water in containers daily. Seems like the best solution so far

That's what I've been doing at home this summer and the challenge is, I didn't by a big enough freezer. We have a 7 Cu. ft. chest freezer that can hold about 12 small tote containers that can make about 8 pounds of ice each. (I would add a few more but I have to keep popsicles for my kid 🤷‍♂️). I'm currently using the Ice Barrel about twice a week and the challenge is that it still gets some sun exposure and the water heats up to around 95 F. Even with the cover on and Reflectix wrapped about the cover. So 100 lbs of ice can get the water down to about 55 F for a short period, which works but I wish I could make about 30-50 more pounds of ice.
I'm still testing out different methods, and Ice Barrel is sending us their new ice molds to test out. So we'll see how that all goes, but hoping to have some more data/experience to share soon. We're having records temperatures this week in Southern Utah so I'll be testing in extreme circumstances. 👍

You didn’t show us the inside!

Sorry about that! 0:21 is probably the closest look that we've got of the inside, if you pause there is a decent still shot of it. Is there anything specific you'd like to know about the inside?

I rather purchase a true whiskey barrel for $100 and save my money for ice! Better yet, take a cold shower.
