    Hi Jon, nice video!
However, at 5:22 you mention that the pixel density of the samsung is lower, but the samsung actually has a higher PPI at 109 as opposed to the LG’s 83.

thank you, as I am black friday shopping for my very first OLED gaming monitor this definitely helped me decide because I've been seeing that QD oled is newer than W oled and it almost made me change my mind on buying the LG monitor. Especially when I saw your side by side comparison at 6:36

Video helped me. I didnt know the difference between those. And since I want BLACK to be BLACK, I choose the w oled. Since I have the new lg 27GS in sight and its a W-oled monitor, I am on the right path for me.

Jon you forgot to mention that W-OLED does not have the same level of color accuracy as QD-OLED so its not all positives. Given QD-OLED is only on its second generation there's a huge amount of potential improvements, just as there was when OLED was in the same position best part of a decade ago.

yah he is being biased , not to mention the WOLED monitor im pretty sure it doesnt get as bright as the QDOLED , as it probably doesnt benefit from MLA tech as LG tvs are .
overall QDOLED is far superior than WOLED , unless if your looking for the one which wont burn in faster.

QD Oled panels would need a higher density of quantum dots in order to get a higher Rec 2020 coverage due to blue light bleeding through and messing with the green and red wavelengths. Sadly increasing Quantum dot density would also increase the price a bit so it's a bit of a trade off.

Not sure if color accurate is the right word. They have higher color gamut and volume certainly but in the here and now it’s rare for a game to exceed dci p3 so you’ll hardly notice a difference. Color accuracy is panel dependent.

I'm personally waiting for the PH-OLED technology, in which changes the material of the blue subpixel & drops the temperature on the display way more. With lower temperatures, the potential of burn-in on displays utilizing the PH-OLED technology may be even lower than as of today. The PH-OLED technology can be applied to both WOLED & QD-OLED panels. Maybe with PH-OLED introduced, there's no longer a need for the Auto Brightness Limiter function while viewing HDR content on OLED displays?
For those that are a bit worried about burn-in on OLED PC-Monitors, the Alienware QD-OLED PC-Monitors that's launching in January 2024, a 27 inch flat 1440p with 360hz, and a 32 inch curved 4K with 240hz, are both going to have a 3 year burn-in warranty attached to them.
MicroLED still seems to be years of, at least in consumer sizes for consumer prices. A competing technology to MicroLED that's as of now goes under the name NanoLED seems to also still be years off. So it looks like OLED might be our only option for a display technology that is self-emissive (each pixel generating it's own light) for maybe the next 5-7 years, at least at consumer sizes & prices.

I am going to buy LG 27 Oled and resell it once something better comes out. I don’t see any need to spend more money on an oled monitor at the current point in time or current offer state. Yes, some will say Asus has better offer but I would not agree as it costs way more and offers nothing beside “custom” cooler. Btw, who ever opened up LG will know it also has custom cooling solution.

As for your point about the LG's custom cooling solution, it's true that the LG 27 OLED has a unique cooling system designed to dissipate heat efficiently. This is crucial for OLED monitors, as excessive heat can lead to burn-in issues. The LG's cooling system helps maintain optimal performance and lifespan.

QD-OLED (Quantum Dot-OLED) is a newer type of OLED display technology that has some advantages over traditional OLED. Here are some of the benefits of QD-OLED:
Improved color gamut: QD-OLED TVs can produce a wider range of colors than traditional OLED TVs. This is because QD-OLED TVs use quantum dots, which are tiny nanoparticles that can emit light when they are excited by blue light. This allows QD-OLED TVs to produce more accurate and lifelike colors.
Increased brightness: QD-OLED TVs are also brighter than traditional OLED TVs. This is because QD-OLED TVs are able to produce more light without the risk of burn-in. Burn-in is a problem with traditional OLED TVs that can occur when static images are displayed on the screen for a long period of time.

QD oled has superior color luminance but the new woled monitors have a bit higher overall luminance on white (1300nits). QD is still a bit more prone to burn in as it produces more heat locally but in the end I think both are fine and you won't see a difference as you will never buy both and compare them side by side anyway
