    I was deciding between the Asus Zephyrus G16 (2024) and Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 9 (2024) and went with the 7i. The price difference wasn’t much, but the 7i offers 41% better value for money, and I couldn’t justify paying an extra 130 CAD for the G16. Plus, the G16 has soldered RAM, limiting upgrades, while the 7i is more future-proof. Cooling on the 7i is also better, though the AMD update on the G16 has helped reduce heat. If you’re reviewing the G16, definitely consider how the AMD CPU affects performance and thermals! Overall, great and honest review without the fluff-keep up the great work!

      I had someone in my discord say they found ways to stretch it but tbh- it shouldn’t be like that. A laptop like this should be able to last you 8 hours of school use without any issue imo but I guess we’ll have to wait a bit longer! Getting closer though.

    I bought this laptop on sale a few weeks ago directly from Lenovo. Mine only has a 4060 I couldn't justify paying $600 more Canadian for the 4070. It does include the i9-14900HX and the screen upgrade though. It arrived today I haven't had a chance to unbox it yet. It's a pre built not built to order.

      @@greeneyelightskin746 If I were in your shoes, I would 100% upgrade. That's a good price. I bought this laptop for productivity first and gaming second, so the 4060 is fine for my needs. For the $600 difference, I could buy a desktop 4070 and put it in my gaming PC. It just doesn't make sense to pay such a high upgrade fee for such a small performance gain.

    I wish the 7i should have an oled display of at least 3k or 3.2k res.
    Good speakers like the macbook
    And an ai processor like the core ultra series processor since these hx processors are power hungry while the ultra series are somewhat power efficient 😊

    • @little_fluffy_clouds
      @little_fluffy_clouds หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      3.2K screen is a bad idea with a 4070 since that GPU isn’t powerful enough in games to drive that resolution. 1600p is the sweet spot.
      Intel Core i9 Ultra processor also gets too hot, I just bought a G16 with one and a 4090, but it gets so hot it throttles games down to 3 FPS. CPU temps can get over 90C under load, not especially impressive

    • @33shubhampatel95
      @33shubhampatel95 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @little_fluffy_clouds I don't want to game on 3.2k I would also like 1600 p or min 1440 p for gaming
      Only I want 3.2k display for programming since I would require a crisp display for programming or it takes away all the fun 😊

    I'm looking to get this laptop for programming, and I want to hook it up to a couple of monitors. I don't want a desktop computer because I still want to be able to take it places. Is there a way to keep it always plugged in without damaging the battery? Would you recommend this laptop for me?

    • @XXIVCONCEPT
      @XXIVCONCEPT  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes. You can leave this plugged in most of the time. Lenovo has battery protection settings to help prevent damage by keeping it plugged in all the time. One of those settings will only allow the laptop to charge to approximately 80% every charge. There’s also an overnight charge option that will never let the battery fully charge while it’s continuously plugged in essentially until the next day.

    • @XXIVCONCEPT
      @XXIVCONCEPT  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think it’s a good choice. Depends on what the Alienware had for a screen and whether you like the keyboard and trackpad more. That and the processor. Both are probably solid choices. Let me know how you like it!

      @jvbp1010 I get this question a lot. I haven’t owned a Strix 18 but tbh performance wise (depending on how you spec it) they’re going to be similar. Now- the Strix is imo a different class of laptop. It’s 18” instead of 16. So if you’re capable of carrying that around and want the extra headroom then the Strix might be better. If you need something more reasonable and travel-ready, the 7i might be better again depending on how you spec it

    • @XXIVCONCEPT
      @XXIVCONCEPT  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I don’t think you’ll see yellowing as the white is metal, not plastic. So as long as you keep your hands clean when using it and regularly dust it, it’ll always stay white. The keycaps would be your only concern. So make sure to keep your hands clean before using your laptop to avoid and discoloring. But if you wanna clean the keyboard or body, you can use a very VERY lightly damp micro fiber cloth and wipe down the entire machine then buff with a dry micro fiber cloth.
      otherwise you should be good to go. 👍

My 7i has a 1600p display while that TUF machine has a 1080p display. 1600p is also 16:10 which is better for productivity as it’s slightly more square. Additionally, while I don’t know the performance difference between the 7600 and the 4070, I would be careful when picking a model as the 4060 is pretty significantly less powerful than the 4070 (IIRC).
