  • Quick talk about on my opinions on the steez Vs a lower end daiwa l've fished both but Daiwa could have tried harder with the Steez as far packaging and goodies for spending that amount of money.

    i have both, the steez casts farther, lighter, smaller, smoother, etc, etc better in every way. no one can say if it’s worth it because it’s subjective, but i can say it is better than tatula no question

      The casting reels from daiwa are great i like them because they have their own unique braking system unlike Shimano lews and abu who just use the round magnets and brake blocks daiwa have came out with some lower end reels if you get one just make sure it has the magforce braking system 👍.

    Gotta disagree, I've ran all steez for years and have had zero issues. The refinement and quality of the steez definitely shine in the long run. I just got the new tatula and my stock original steez blows it out the water. The tatula is a good bang for your buck reel, but sorry my dude they just don't hold up as well.

    • @KennethLondon-ft9gw
      @KennethLondon-ft9gw  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The steez will always win by default because people not gonna use it for the price. Far as longevity and refinement we are at a point where I don't think it matters when I got into higher end reels and what comes with the I never one said to myself darn these gears are grinding and the face this reel is 2oz lighter than anything else is causing me less fatigue. Higher end reels are novelty items.

      @@KennethLondon-ft9gw Sorry bud, but any reel made in Japan will always be better than one not made there; Period. The Steez has a better braking system and just better overall craftsmanship than the Tatula. Some can't justify the price tag and that's okay, that's why Daiwa makes different tiers of reels. It's all subjective, so we will have to agree to disagree.

    I have three of the older generation Tatula SV reels which I believe is what you have in this video. They're fantastic braking reels. The new model is a bit smaller and lighter as well - but not quite as light as a Steez. And several of the Tatula rods, which are great for the price. I can't recommend the combos enough.
    That said, I am strongly considering buying a single high end setup for jigs and T-rigs since I always have one or the other rigged up and they are presentations where you would want the maximum sensitivity. Maybe a Steez/Steez setup, or perhaps a Megabass Destroyer FMJ.

    Nice video. I am not spending 500.00 as u suggested. I am looking at the Diawa Elite have you tried it? Also, the SV is suppose to have more control and less back lash. I think that is why you thought it was stiff.

  • @HBeretta

    so i have yet to try the hedgehog bearings that are tailored to specific lure weight ranges, but have found ZPI bearings to be the best so far. Initially I thought they weren't...didn't clean them and put high quality high speed bearing oil on them per the advice of many. Just a single drop out of a proper dropper to be clear. I've always read not to oil ceramic bearings so I gave it a shot and these ZPI bearings spin forever after cleaning them in acetone and letting them dry. Now the difference from stock bearings is REALLY noticeable. They also perform better than hi-speed and boca with regard to distance and noise etc...

      @@KennethLondon-ft9gw i ended up going zpi bearings and found a 6.3 tatula sv tw from japan for $160 brand new. It's not a steez by any stretch...bigger frame..heavier...and you can tell it's not a free floated spool. I should've bought the new tatula to try the bearing swap on it since it's lighter and has a smaller frame, but couldn't get around that ugly @ss spider logo. BUT for around $200 after swapping the bearings it does cast well. If I hadn't fished a steez though...but still upgrading the bearings on these lower end reels makes a world of difference...and I'm happy with my tatula especially the way it casts for $200.

    Great vid, but all and all Steez is a way better reel... you don't go over $150 and only expect the product to fill the bare mininum. It's just a far lighter and smoother reel. You will find major stuggle to go down the finesse range with a stock tatula while the steez can do it just fine out of the box.

  • @zajdabneeg
    @zajdabneeg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You can fish both and catch fish just fine. Imo i will never get that steez because you are right the tatula can do just about the same thing. Now if you talk about like other daiwa reels that are special focus like steez air, zillion HLC HD etc. Then the tatula will not do. Tatula are ment to be entry level all around average. The regular steez is just a high end all around avg as well. If you need horsing fishing in covers, zillion HD, if you need frogging. Zillion HLC, if you need finess steez air. If you throw swimbaits, tatula 300 and lexa.

      Just to be clear i prefer the steez sv tw...not the A TW or CT SV. The SV TW has that 100 size spool which is exactly what I prefer. I don't like to buy large spools of line so i stock up on sunline assassin or sniper 225 yd spools here and there so I'm able to fill the sv tw spools fully twice due to 100 size and still have a little leader line leftover.
      Oh and with the steez sv tw I can cast qtr oz swimjigs 30-40+ yds on a regular basis with a 6'10" rod...and only gets better with wind to my back. I guess it's why I'm glued to steez sv tw reels...all around performers.
