    Hi! I'm Harry Soo, a Grand Champion pitmaster from in Diamond Bar, near Los Angeles. Welcome to my vlogs, BBQ product reviews, travel & lifestyle videos, BBQ contests, classes, as well as interviews and stories.
    On weekdays, I'm an IT nerd living a Dilbertesque existence in a fabric covered cubicle in downtown LA. I'm the head tour guide for a team of IT project managers who build datacenters, networks, servers, and infrastructure that helps bring tap water to 300 cities and 20 million residents in SoCal.
    On weekends, I come alive as a pitmaster, competitor, and BBQ instructor. You've seen me on BBQ Pitmasters, Food Network, Chopped Grill Masters, Smoked, Cutthroat Kitchen, and local TV in California. My shtick is I've used a humble 18-inch Weber Smokey Mountain smoker to win 100+ first places and 1st place USA in the Kansas City BBQ Society (KCBS) awards including best chicken, brisket, and sirloin; and I've won over 30 Grand Championships. I've personally taught 250+ classes and trained 4,000+ pitmasters in small hands-on dozen student classes in the US, Sydney, Perth, London, Kuala Lumpur, Ireland, Germany, Mexico, Canada, and Hawaii.
    I get many questions weekly about how to grill and barbecue. Since I started cooking professionally in 2008, I've answered thousands via email, so I decided to post my answers via video to reach a wider audience. I'll do my best to post a video on my channel periodically. I upload vlogs, BBQ product reviews, travel & lifestyle videos, BBQ contests, classes, as well as interviews and stories.

    Would be interested on how they cook on those. What they are looking for in their coal bed, distance from heat, when to raise or lower, etc.

    Nice work! I can assure you he doesn't build that entire thing in 3 hours. I'm a welder I can relate.

    • @SlapYoDaddyBBQ
      @SlapYoDaddyBBQ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe 4 hours? I'll film the next build from start-to-end so we can find out if his claim is accurate. I can vouch that there was no blueprint when I watched him cut and weld, working like a craftsman. Just a ruler and sharpie and he worked really fast. Noted the side tables were pre built and he had numerous in stock. Probably the wheel also.

    Doesn't painting the inside of the grill seem not a good idea? I mean the paint will burn off and smoke the food.

    • @SlapYoDaddyBBQ
      @SlapYoDaddyBBQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a burn in and seasoning process you must conduct before cooking. We run it hot and spray it liberally with canola oil from Walmart. A pit needs to be seasoned before using

      I just retired after 30 years building data centers so I love doing more BBQ adventures to be a film maker instead of a one trick pony just showing my recipes and teachjng how to cook in my past 500 videos.
      Filming 25 year old Goldees BBQ pitmasters and 85 year old Snows BBQ Pitmasters, doing collabs, being a armadillo judge, seeing how BBQ is cooked around the country and world is fascinating.
      I'm having more fun than the 50 brisket videos I've done. I do have 50 more brisket video tests coming but I'm time sharing my retirement years for travel and adventures outside my kitchen! Please join me if you like! 👍
