Thanks for the video, I live in Tahiti, but I came from the home of the Santa Maria BBQ, next-door in San Luis Obispo County, CA ... so that that I can cook Tri-tip on a Santa Maria grill in Tahiti. I talked the butcher here to order some Tri-tip, all of our meat comes from New Zealand, ...built my own SM Grill, however, it's so large, too large for my wife and I, so, I'll build one for my Weber Kettle, thanks again. Karl, living in paradise.
Enjoyed your video. I know you mentioned making this from scraps but what size were the rails (height and depth of the track). Thanks for putting this out there.
Tee Ammon Thanks! I don’t have it readily available here, so I can’t measure, but the rails are U shaped, measuring 20 x 20 mm. Can’t remember the height, 50-60 cm. Never use the top half anyway, so it could me made shorter/less tall.
great DIY video! My Brother-in-Law just got a welder and plasma cutter, and Drill press which he said I can use at any time. Now I know what I want to do for my 1st project. what size steel rod did you use and how deep did you make your cuts? looked like at least 1/2 way thru or more. Also, what size rod did you use to crank the cables and grill. lastly was that Lava Lock gasket? TIA
Thanks! I used an 8 mm rod. The crank shaft is 15 mm. And yes, I use a replacement gasket for Big Green Egg of Kamado Joe. Helps avoid scratching the kettle.
@@mcastellanos657 Ah, I made it from a piece of roundbar. I had a 70" long roundbar which I bent by hand. I cut a bunch of grooves in it so it would bend easier. You can see how I made it at 08:00 minutes into the video.

Genius! You should get a licence on this and sell it!

Very gr8 video!!! Ingenious even!!! Now I know I can make one of these if I can ever find a good used Weber 22 or 26" kettle!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks for the video. I made one more similar to gabby grill using the HVAC ring for the base. Everything else was pretty easy to make
Cool, it sure is a fun way to cook on a kettle.
Snyggt jobbat Henrik 👍
Kent Nilsson Tack! Men får uppgradera maskinparken snart.
Looks good and good job.
Kevin Cameron Thanks Kevin!
Snyggt!
Hello from Cincinnati, Ohio. Nice job, man!
AK Boost BBQ Thank you, it was good fun building it!
That's pretty cool.
Great video and idea from Tx

Great video what diameter size rod did you use for the meat rack? Thank You
Thanks! I think it was 8 mm if I recall correctly.
Good video! Thanks for posting
I am impress, but how do you hold the rack in place while it is up? Thank You
Thanks! I have a ‘brake’ of sorts on top which blocks the crank from rotating.
Well done sir.
Guillermo Paredes Thank you!

Cool tutorial, Brother!
Mr. Bones BBQ Thanks my friend!
So what keeps it from falling off. I didn't see you clip or secure the whole piece you made. Can it just fall over?
Well, nothing. But due to its weight it sits there pretty firmly. You would have to knock it really hard for it to come off.
Great job!!
TaNgLeD2121 Thanks!
What size angle iron did you use? Thank You
It's 20x20 mm.
I like it!
Ser bra ut Henrik! 👍😊
Fredrik Tengstam Tack Fredrik!
Fortsätt med det du gör, bästa
mr Burns Tack!
Juste bygge.
What brand & size welder did you use?
I use an ESAB Caddy MIG C200i.
That was awesome. Where can i buy one? I need one for my weber 57cm.
Think i'll order one of you.. lol
TIG or MIG welding?
Great video brother!
MIG!
Elton's BBQ-pit Thanks Elton! I’m doing mig welding here.
Hmm.. think i have to visit Biltema.. ;-)
I’m using the ESAB Caddy 200, absolutely love it! Highly recommended: www.sodermalmsmaskin.se/product/caddy-mig-c200i-kit
Whats the rounded ring ? Where can I find that ?
Blown Castellanos Not sure what ring you mean, I fabricated it all from scratch?
Hank's True BBQ I meant the rounded ring base you used to weld your grill grate,

Do u have a list of the size gauge of materials u used
Nope, sorry. I built it from scrap material I had lying around, so no drawings or plans.
Not bad at all.
Would you have dimensions please
It is 22" in diameter, and 18" tall.
❤🎉❤🎉
Badass
Your gonna eat burned paint;)
Actually not. The grates aren’t painted.
